One man seeking revenge and the other forgiveness, two fated lovers separated by time and tragedy - can love survive despite all the lies? Vampire families silently manipulate the chessboard in their bid for power and control unwittingly choosing the one person who can bring King Dinallah to his knees, for how can he condemn his fated mate to die? Told from multiple POVs, this is a story of second chances, letting go of the past and finding peace. It can't be read as standalone since many characters from previous book play important role in this one.

Zeveriah Dinallah was never meant to be king, a position that makes for lonely nights and days filled with tension. There are those who seek to destroy him and bring back the war that decimated cities and killed so many humans. He is the only one who stands in the way of returning to old brute ways. But he grows weary of the fight. The weight of the past mistakes is too hard to carry. The thoughts of the boy he loved once and lost haunt him day and night. Happiness seems out of reach until one day a man shows up that just might be his salvation.

Emek has only one objective. Seduce the king and find the necklaces that will lead opposing vampires to the legendary Ellowyn treasure. He can do this despite his hatred of all vampires - it's either succeed or die. Vampires took everything form him - his father, his home and his innocence. But no one hurt him more than a vampire who made him hope and then betrayed him. But what he does not expect is for the king Zev to be that vampire that broke him. Oh, the revenge will be so sweet. Or it should be but then why worry about him, why care about him, why console him when he is hurt? All is not so simple, and the line between hatred blurs into lust that nurtures the sparkle of love long buried into a huge flame.

While both men let the heat consume them, neither can forget the hurt and the pain, neither can trust each other. Yet when the danger threatens their lives, they find the way to save each other both from dying in body and in soul, for the fated bond they've shared is still there to support them.

There is a lot of angry hot s*e*x, plenty soul-searching and veiled threats and intrigue that vampires are oh so famous for. The betrayal runs deep and too close to home. There were times when I thought neither would make it out alive, but every time either luck or invisible supporters gave them a helping hand. I enjoyed all the subterfuge and machinations, the vampire family posturing and royal house day-to-day life. There was a lot more background on the history of Ellowyn, the vampire underground cities and all the vampire families that helped me keep up with who had what purpose. It took a while but Emek was able to become Asa again and forgive Zev, was able to trust and make friends. Zev welcomed Asa home into his arms where he belonged. Wonderful continuation of the Ellowyn Found series. Copy received for my honest and unbiased review

I still have so many questions...

After enjoying A Vampire's Heart, I continued with A Vampire's Promise, and I liked it, but I didn't love it. I love enemies-to-lovers stories, as well as second chance stories. However, I've discovered that lies and deceit unsettle me too much. There was so much deceit it was hard to sort through, sometimes, and the romance was severely lacking, because of it.

Zev is the king who should not have been king. He didn't really want the job, either, but Rune, the heir, gave it up to protect his brother, Jessa. Zev wants peace, but so many others do not and feel they deserve to rule humans, instead of living alongside them.

Zev is lonely and pining for his fated, whom he lost 16 years ago. There's not much left of the happy young man we see in A Vampire's Vow. We do see glimpses of that idealistic young man, but being king has dimmed his light. I really like Zev. He's a man of peace. A man with ideals that haven't dulled with time, though he has a hard time believing peace will be lasting. Ruling has aged him beyond his years and has shown him just what lengths people will go to in order to gain power.

Asa was 11 when he first started hearing a voice inside his head that wasn't his, 17 when he met the owner of that voice, though I don't know if he realized it at the time, and he believes that the vampire he fell for betrayed him, and he lost everything. In the 16 years that follow, Asa does whatever he has to to survive, including prostitution of both the sex and the blood variety. He hates vampires, he doesn't trust them, but he finds himself working for them, anyway, and is tasked with spying on and maybe even killing the king. Asa isn't a bad guy, but he is desperate and desperation will make people do things they normally would not.

I really missed the romance in this one. So many lies and so much deceit clouds everything. Zev wants to trust Asa, who calls himself Emek, but fears that too much has happened to be able to win Emek's trust again. Plus, Zev's life is in danger, so much time is devoted to that. Emek wars with himself over what he feels, versus what he thinks he should feel and a deep seated fear that his life will be forfeit no matter what he does, so he tends toward really bad decisions.

I definitely want to read the next book when it comes out, because I need answers. One of them being, where does Rune fit in here? I do hope the romance is stronger in the next one, though.

It continues

Oh my this story was filled with so much deceit and uncertainties. It is hard to say who is loyal and to who their loyalties lie. Zev is King but he has enemies every where. He is lonely and heart broken and he wants peace for his people. But that does not seem to be what the others want. His gated is being used by others to get close to Zev. The story was filled with intrigue, mystery, confusion and a twisted type of love. It was a good story but did not make things any clearer as far as Rune is concerned. Will read the others as they are released!

A Vampire’s Promise is the second book in the Ellowyn Found Series by author Kayleigh Sky. This book has a list of characters at the start of it. What they do and who they are. This book has time jumps in it. I am not a real fan of that. But it was okay to this storyline. I really adored the first book. This book I found to be lukewarm at best. I felt it was a heavy read, with a lot of information for me to take in. It was a tad overwhelming.
Asa, he didn’t know his dad was experimenting on vampires. He is 17 when he finds out. He wants to join the Sentries. Things are black and white to him; the gray areas are hard for him to understand. He doesn’t want to believe vampires are bad.
Now there is a huge time jump when we meet the voice in Asa’s head. That is his mate Zev. Zev is a vampire and finally can find his mate and introduce himself. His heart is always in the right place and he doesn’t always make the best choices.
I found these two together to be a good pair. I just found them to not have a whole lot of chemistry.
I liked the storyline there is a ton to get through in this particular story. I liked the names of the chapters they are very clever and fun. I will read more cause I want to know what happens next. I just really loved the first book more than this one. It is an okay read.

This series is some what confusing. I feel like parts are missing and sometimes things happen and you do not get an explanation until later in the story. This series feels rather disjointed. Something happens and then it suddenly jumps to something else with no idea to what happened in-between it moment. I plan to read the final story in the series and hope everything that felt missing is finally explained.

Wow again!

Ms. Sky has done it again. A truly wonderful book of intrigue, suspense, action, love and, of course, hot sexiness. Like the first book I couldn't put this one down. Brava!

After ravenously reading the prologue novella, I had high hopes. The actual series was a let down in comparison. While enjoyable, it didn't have the intensity, vivid world building, or character development.

I liked this book with its twists and turns, intrigue and betrayal, lost love and loneliness, but I have to admit to being a little confused from time to time. This book definitely requires concentrated reading, in my opinion, and I found myself re-reading sections to see if I missed something. I didn't relate to the characters as much as I did in the first book. (No one called out to me quite like Jessa did.) I still have unanswered questions, so I will definitely read the next book and hope it clarifies the things that are still mysteries.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Okay, so this series just keeps getting better. In this one, we have Asa running from the city except he ends up having to work for someone that means harm. Zev is still searching for his mate that disappeared years earlier. Well, Asa begins work at Zev's palace and then the twists and turns begin. Will their history repeat or will they be able to move forward?

Everything in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Though there are times that you wish you could shake some of the characters.

A Vampire's Promise is the second book in the Ellowyn Found series by Kayleigh Sky. This was a very interesting and entertaining read.... fears, deceit, angst, sex.... definitely kept my attention although sometimes I was annoyed by certain things characters did. Overall I am still drawn in by the series and cant wait for next book.

Awesome add to the series. Things are getting more and more crazy for this group of people. Zev and Asa for sure are a enemies to lovers type of situation that gets more and more complicated. The main plot continues and mixes with this story about a Vampire coven meeting and things can't stop going wrong. I loved seeing more Zev (who we met in the Prequel and saw briefly in book 1), and Asa is a mystery all his own that I won't say more about because it would be a spoiler. I loved seeing new characters but also past favorites like Otto and Rune pop in. I love that am not able to guess what can happen next and on the edge of my seat wanting more. Intense chemistry and sexy scenes mix with sweet moments between the main characters. Complex side characters and surprises along the way. Can't wait to see how this ends.

I loved the first book, but this one didn’t seem like much of a romance to me. They didn’t really become romantically involved until about 85% and even then they harbored ill feelings toward each other. So most of the book is fluff, sometimes interesting, sometimes kind of boring and I just kept waiting and waiting to get to the part where they get together.

This is more of an urban fantasy where romance takes a back seat to the overall plot and actions.

Even better than book one !! “Promise” just blew me away! I mean when the “bad guy” was revealed...I was like “I knew it!” (Like I literally yelled it and startled my hubby lol) but I was super shocked all at the same time. I had so many emotions through this one but stayed engrossed in the mystery at the same time. How the author managed to do all that, I don’t know but I like her style. Come on book three!! Read it; just trust me.

It was ok

While I absolutely loved Otto and Jessa's story, Asa and Zev sort of fell flat for me. Why did we get all sorts of signs that Asa doubted if Zev was involved in his father's death, only to have him accuse Zev with too much conviction? I felt confused through much of this book because I didn't really follow why Asa did most of the things that he did.

Interesting and enjoyable read..

I really enjoyed reading this book, it's as good as the first book. The journey continues with a promise that was made to Asa, and thought forgotten and broken by Zev, King of the Vampires. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Admittedly pretty complicated

I struggled to follow some of the plot lines in this story. I found it difficult to tie who with what. But I still liked the overall story.
