Fawn isn’t looking for a mate. In truth, she’s doing everything she can to avoid it – to avoid blooming. It doesn’t matter that even her best friend thinks it’s all for naught – because tonight she’s going to lose herself in the cacophony of Inner City.

Her innocent fascination with the throngs of writhing bodies is suddenly shattered by the appearance of a boy with love written on his skin and death in his eyes.

And she wants him more than she’s ever wanted anything before.

Nascent darkness may not know what he is.
But I do.
Falling for himself, he’s more adorable than a baby panther, opening its eyes for the first time, and those eyes are why I can't look away. Matte-black and infinity-filled, they're why I want to get closer, when all I should do is close my own and disappear.
It isn’t just all the light in the room his eyes take.
It’s all of me.

To Inner City, he’s the most dangerous kind of predator. To Fawn, he is simply brand new. He’s love, passion, desire and completely forbidden to her. But some things are worth dying to possess – if only for a fleeting moment.

One minute, I’m letting a fledgling hold my heart because he’s scared without his own, and now, ceremonial flowers are budding all around us. I can’t stand to not be touching him, and every single part of me feels it when I do. Every single part of me aches with what’s happening. My arms, my legs. Inside my chest and under my dress. Even my mouth feels heavy and desperate to stay open for him.
To bloom.

If you have ever read anything by Sarah, you know that she is one of those very rare authors that paints so vividly with words that reading becomes a complete multisensory experience. And Bloom is that and so much more.

You taste the glamour, feel the vibration and smell the hunger.

It can only be described as a trip through peachy-pink gossamer wings that culminates in a wickedly savage bite. Her signature contrasts are heartbreaking and the metaphors breathe life into the overwhelming emotions that she so lovingly conjures. Part mystical fairy tale and part seductive horror, this is dream from which we never want to awake…

I love everything that Sarah writes, so it’s no surprise to me how quickly I fell in love with Bloom. Sarah writes in the most mysterious, poetic, way and the moment when everything fits together is so so special. Bloom was so immersive- I could picture everything perfectly and I already love Fawn and Brand New. I can’t wait for more of Sarah’s words.
