The Vampire Diaries with faeries. Welcome to Rowan... I wasn’t the sort of girl who believed in fairytales, let alone tales about faeries. But that changed the day Faeries came to my small town and Hunters rose from their graves. Olivia is a USA Today best-selling author of romantasy. When she’s not swooning over her characters’ steamy escapades, or plotting their demise, you can find her sipping wine and crafting her next twisted, romantic masterpiece, all while trying to convince her children and leading man that she loves them more than her laptop.
I really enjoyed reading this 'trilogy' (this is NOT just a re-branding of the story, as one reviewer attempted to point out)...and it contains the first three books in The Lost Clan series.
I have already read the first book some time back (Rose Petal Graves), and I enjoyed it then, but found I was able to get into the story a bit easier this time around. I was able to read book 2 (Rowan Wood Legends) and book 3 (Rising Silver Mist) this time around as well.
If you are a fan of urban fantasy writing, you should definitely start reading this series soon, whether you choose to start with book one or this start-up trilogy.
You're going to want to buy the complete trilogy in one go. It's just awesome on so many levels. I absolutely loved it. This is just beyond fantastic.
Book 1... I found this a really great read. Never read one of Olivia Wildenetein's books before and I'm glad to have found a new author.
Good story, plenty going on all, lots of characters. The main character I have found very likeable. I like this version of fearies and hunters.
I'm very much liking these books and am really happy to have found them. I recommend then completely.
Flying onto the next book in the lost clan trilogy.
Book 2...
This brilliant trilogy is just getting better and better. I am really enjoying this story. This second book has definitely picked up its pace from the first.
Olivia wildenetein's writing and imagination is awesome. The story development is brilliant. This world of fearies and hunters is an awesome take. 2 worlds, lots of characters lots going on to keep you on the edge of your seat. A fantastic resilient main character. Slow developing romance which doesnt take over the book.
I absolutely loved this book. I highly recommend this trilogy.
Book 3...
What an epic ending to such a brilliant trilogy. I must admit I'm sad to have come to the end of The Lost Clan Trilogy. It's been one of those that captured my attention from the first page of the first book and just kept getting better and better.
This story is bursting at the seams. Magic, fearies, hunters, sealies,.unsealies, lies, 2 worlds. Fantastic characters that I just adored even Cruz.......
Olivia wildenstein gives you so much in these books written brilliantly. These are a must read and I'm thrilled to see a book coming from lily's point of view.
Such fantastic books I can't recommend these enough. Olivia has become one of my favourite authors and I'm planning on working my through all of her books.
5 stars for each individual book. And 5 stars for the fact you can get them all wrapped up in one book. Brilliant brilliant brilliant.....
Not sure how I did it but I read all 3 in about 2 days. That's how good this series is. I couldn't put it down. Olivia Eisenstein just sucks you into a dream world you can't get out of.
When you first open the book its intimidating because there is not only a giant list of people but also a dictionary for 2 different languages. Hoping that I would catch on and not have to continually go back to look at it I skipped it altogether. Which in my opinion was a fantastic choice. The author does a wonderful job of keeping everything and everyone clear so I would have put it at the back of the book but I can see why she included it.
As for the story it is amazing with twists and turns and characters that you love and hate. Sometimes at the same time. I was really impressed by how well done it was. Since it was just a book that I happened upon in my Facebook feed.
For the most part it's a clean book but the last book does go into some sexual encounters as well as more cursing. For those who dont care either way enjoy the story. But for those who strictly read clean novels this isn't for you because you will miss the ending.
I won’t give any spoilers but I do have to say- I have NEVER in my life been so engrossed in a story. In most series, you basically know what’s going to happen by the middle of the first book. This series had me guessing up until the very end. Cleverly written with relatable characters that you can’t help but love or well hate some of them but then love them again. I read all three within three days.. like didn’t sleep- read while I fixed my hair, while I ate and (don’t tell anyone) even at two social gatherings. I became so emotionally attached to the characters and fell in love with Cat!! I’m pretty sad now that it’s over.. definitely one of my top three favorite series. 🧚🏽♀️🧜🏽♀️
I’ve wanted to write reviews for the first two books but haven’t been able to stop reading long enough to write on! I am totally in love with this series. Catori and Ace - just wow! Everything I wanted in a book - loved the ups and downs and so wasn’t disappointed in the ending. This series definitely gives you the feels! LOVED it!
All Three books in series! Hard Core if your like me and can't put down because you need to know what happenes next in the book.
Olivia you are amazing I loved the whole story line it's different from other books and the chemistry between characters was amazing you kept me guessing all the through of what was going to happen in the end
I did not finish this book. I couldn’t stand how the main character kept flip flopping from either hating the faeries and trusting the hunters, or hating the hunters and trusting the faeries. Just choose a side already! I found that I really didn’t care about the main character, and my level of care dropped each time she flip flopped between faeries and hunters.
Wasn’t sure what to expect, but this book did surprise me..constantly. One minute you thought someone was bad, the next, they’d have a heart of gold. Loved the characters. Would recommend.
This was so good! Every time I thought I had it figured out, there was another twist and I had to learn who to believe and trust all over again. It really kept me on my toes and I loved every second of it!
My one qualm with this is that there were a few instances Cat should have apologized for (in my opinion) and didn’t, however that oversight didn’t detract from the book for me.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
This book was absolutely amazing! I’ve been in a funk lately and have struggled to get into books and stick with them but this one hooked me till the end! There were so many plot twists it always left me guessing! The romance is amazing and hurt my heart at times but so good!
I love this series!! I also love how all the books are in one so when one book finished the next one was right behind it!! Catori's stubbornness got on my nerves a little but the passion between her and the one she ends up loving (no spoilers here) is beautiful and made me so happy! I was rooting for him since they met!! I hope Lily gets a book I'd love to see what happens with her.
The story of Ace and Cat is beautiful and intricately woven. It's full of friendship, love, lies, betrayal, and loyalty. The story will suck you in from the beginning.
Overall this series was entertaining and suspenseful read. I'm not sure I could have forgiven some of the hurtful words or actions of the characters especially the love interest. I'm not we've seen the last of Aces ex and child. Probably a power struggle for the throne.
Great books good storyline and a lots of romance!!! Younger generation read for sure. If you like romance and super natural love storyline this is for you.
This book was amazing. As soon as I read the first page I was hooked. I couldn’t put it down until I finished all three books. Catori is such an amazing character. The way her and Ace fell in love made me swoon. I know the last book is about Lily and the hunter, which I’m about to start reading. But I’m hoping there will be parts in it with Catori and Ace.
Wow! I loved this series. I have never had so many mixed emotions loved character lol I loved and hated and loved them again. Cat's story and journey had many, many twists along the way and I wasn't sure where things were going or who she'd end up with but I was actually pretty ecstatic about that final twist and how things played out. I'm really not ready to leave these people yet and oh so happy to hear about a spin off!
Loved this trilogy! It has action, suspense, and plenty of romance!
I have to say that this first book in the series is definitely the clumsiest one but also her first fantasy book. I kept going because the worldbuilding piqued my interest. Although unconventional to leave big questions unanswered in the first novel, it is worthwhile to note that the rest of the series explains some of the events that happen in book 1 (some which have received the most criticism) and it makes a lot of sense. Book 3 was my absolute favorite and really brought the climax that I was looking for in this story. There were many twists which I would not have predicted!
Catori, the main character, has a strong personality, knows what she likes and dislikes, although it may also take the reader some time to discover it. It was refreshing to see her strong bond with her father and how she puts her own dreams aside to help him after her mother passes away unexpectedly. I love that she is a woman who sticks to her own emotions and is not swept up into a big dramatic relationship because the male character is interested. At some point there seems to be a bit of a love triangle (or square) but since Cat has a good grasp of her wants, it is quickly dismantled.
I found the depiction of the different races (fairies and faehunters) very interesting. There are a lot of Gottwa and Faeli words that may be confusing but there is a handy glossary included. After referring to it a few times, I became more comfortable with the terms. There is also a list of characters and their relationships that helped me keep track of everyone. If anything, the use of the different languages sprinkled throughout the book really helped immerse me in this fantastic world.
I recommend this series to any reader who enjoys great worldbuilding and is patient enough to wait until book 2 to have some of their questions answered. It is definitely worth it.
Simply amazing. Unique, well developed, entertaining. The kind of book that keeps you up post bed time. The romance was realistic, not cheap college puppy love. The action and suspense was awesome too.
