The Lake #2

Fortuitous

Rate this book
Sophie Tuck is supervising her classroom examinations, and with the end of the school year looming, she is looking forward to attending her friends Bianca and Max’s engagement party in Lake Como during the summer.
However, there is only one thought keeping her apprehensive. There, she will see again the one man she’d rather stay away from, Andrea Del Toro. Despite his girlish name, he is all male and as hot as they come but, without a doubt, an undeterred womaniser.
This thought is driving her crazy. Their fortuitous kiss months ago is still vivid in Sophie’s memory. She can’t stop thinking about him. Nevertheless, her predisposition is to flee rather than open up her heart to a man. There is sexual tension between Andrea and Sophie and sparks fly but circumstances take a surprisingly turn of events. Will their love flourish?
Matters take a dangerous direction when Max’s destructive ex-girlfriend returns, seeking revenge over Bianca’s engagement.

I had very much enjoyed the previous book of Rowell, the lake book 1 and couldn't resist to follow up on the destiny of the main characters. The lake book two picks up where book 1 left but it can even be read on its own. I normally don't read romance but Rowell's books are much more than this. There is romance and there is suspense; vengeance and a few twists that make it hard to put the book down until you have finished it.

Loved book 2 too! A great sequel . Suspense and romance mingle beautifully in this book. The romance is so hot, and I was rooting for Sophie to get her man. The suspense keeps you on your toes till the end with twists and turns. It surprises you. The beautiful setting of Lake Como, in Italy, is so delightfully descriptive by the author that you are transported there, you will enjoy it. I can recommend it wholeheartedly , in particular if you like romance with a twist of suspense. A wonderful second book, but I want more.....Please tell me there is book 3?

The second book of the series “The Lake“ surprised, filled my heart with joy and romance. The author’s gift to write flowing and captivating stories made it hard to put this novel down. I admired marvelous descriptions of the scenery, Italian family’s traditions, and delicious cuisine and also enjoyed the plunge into a mouthwatering Italian passion mixed with suspense. It was a great story, and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance.
