A heart-pounding third instalment in the tradition of City of Bones, White Raven and Guardian, AetherBlood is an action-packed modern fantasy that will keep you on your toes and turning the pages.

“War is coming.”

After barely escaping the AetherPlane with her life, Ruby Black is still haunted by the final words of the ancient being to whom she spoke.
Since that dark day, Elementals have been vanishing, only to show up dead shortly after, killed in the most awful ways imaginable. The bodies have started appearing across the country, and it seems those ominous words might have been prophetic after all. Someone, or something, is systematically wiping out the Elemental race, and if Ruby doesn’t act fast, she may soon be a queen of ash and bones.
But catching a killer who is always one step ahead is no easy task; a trap must be laid, but care must be taken or Ruby may find herself walking into an elaborately woven trap herself.
Old enemies arise, and unlikely allies reveal themselves – darkness is coming, and it will claim all who are unprepared.
No lasting peace was ever achieved without blood being spilt.

“This is book 3 in “The Enuma Legacies” series and Ruby and her team are back. The storyline takes a curve and Ruby is left to figure out who is killing Elementals. With her team of Elementals Ruby is on the trail of Demas trying to catch him and devise a plan to capture him before anymore Elementals die. This book is well-written, suspenseful with twists and drama that adds to the overall excitement of the series. I had to finish this tale in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. Definitely a great addition to the series.”

I adored A.N. Sage’s AerherBorn (separately reviewed) so much that I rushed to download AetherQueen and AetherBlood, books 2 and 3 in her The AetherBorn Saga, and then addictively read them through the night. It’s 3:30am and my sweetie has been merrily snoring for hours (though he denies it) and I’m exhausted - but it was more than worth doing. These addictive books were wonderfully told, making great use of (and adding to) the world-building and story arc start in book 1, and each bring superbly written and a total fun-blast to read. I cannot recommend these books highly enough.

Ruby and the Elementals are tracking Demas as he and his family of devilish Gods make their way around the countryside killing off innocent Elementals as they go. All the while, Ruby grows constantly more frustrated and aggravated at being one step behind Demas. As the pressure mounts, Ruby and the Elementals come up with one last, desperate plan to save the day. The only question is, will it? And will everyone find their happy ending?
