Were I to sum it up quickly, I'd say 'unexploited potential'.

Did I like it?
I dunno.
I kinda did so I guess it was ok.
But very uneven and underdeveloped.

First off, this book picks up 12 years after the prequel Her Wicked Stepbrother.
So they're both 30 now.
So I expected our heroine, Brynn, to be more mature and wiser. Definitely less doormaty.
All I can say is that she is....well...older.

And that's it.

Her doormaty personality comes shining through right in the first chapter where she attends family dinner with her fiance, a guy who is a total douchebag and who treats her like a dirt under his fingernail.

But she stays with him to please her idiotic father. And I could maybe somehow understand her way of thinking if the mentioned father was at least attentive to her life, her needs or her happiness. But that isn't the case. She just blindly follows his every command like a lost puppy, trying to get his approval every step of the way. And I could understand that if she were a teenager who doesn't know better but she is a grown ass woman.

And her father was the one who chased Aidan away and the reason why these two split up 12 years back. He was the reason for her misery, the reason the entire family somehow fell apart.

So at least a bit of reluctance or resentment towards him and his actions would be at least expected.
Nope.

That ain't the case with Brynn.

She is as stupid as she was 12 years ago, putting his father on a pedestal and trusting him infinitely.
Again, it's the same man who announced her 17-year-old self that the woman he met one week prior would not only be his wife, but also she'd live with them (together with her 3 sons) and that she should call her mom. He didn't ask for her opinion, didn't care how she'd feel about such a revolution. He simply gave zero fucks about her because his own happiness was all he cared about.

And due to this simple fact I just couldn't understand the reason behind her actions. Neither when she was 17 nor when she is 30.

I get that her need to be loved and accepted steered her life for her, but for god's sake girl, open your eyes and smell the disaster in the making.

So 12 years pass and Aiden is back.
Right in the middle of the mentioned dinner.
We get to find out that he stayed away from the family because Alan, the wicked father, paid for his education and some roof over his head when he was banished from the house at 18 but in exchange Aiden wasn't to come back.

And now, completely out of the blue, the company that Brynn built together with her father is given to him and he takes over the reign as the CEO and becomes Brynn's boss.

So while they work together, their feelings bloom and the resentment quickly turns to passion, he does his own investigation and we quickly learn that the company is where the mob do their money laundering. All that thanks to Alan's, the fucked up father, doings.

What's better, we learn that Brynn was attacked and raped by one of the mafia goons. That was a warning to her father who knew about everything and did nothing. Because you know, his wife loved the luxury life and Brynn, as he put it, 'seemed fine'.

So when our sis finally learns the truth about her father and who he really, she is devastated but together with Aiden, his brothers and the FBI they come up with a plan and they eventually manage to put Moretti (the mobster) behind bars and they have their HEA with Brynn expecting their first child in the epilogue.

I was happy for them as a couple. And I did like them together because it was clear that they were meant to be. Plus, they were cute as hell together.
However, the whole 'forbidden love' aspect was somehow swept away and all those who were so appalled by their relationship 12 years ago, were somehow pretty chill about it now.
So that was weird but whatever.

Also, the ending felt rushed and after they got together I honestly lost my interest in how the story ends and barely managed to read through the last 6 chapters.
I wasn't a fan of Brynn but I did love Aiden and his brothers.
The writing was decent but the third person didn't help me connect with the characters.

I might read Cian's story when it comes up because he and Rory were such sweethearts I honestly loved them both.

All in all, it was an okay read but not my favourite.

Oh how entranced Aiden makes, Brynn, taking her breath away. Then, when she catches her composure you can feel both their animosity rolling off of them, yet at the same time Amy’s description is so good in letting us see the smoldering lust and love that is still in the both. Duly noted by her date Jared, when the pompous ass Brynn is kinda dating is trying to antagonize Aiden, but he basically ignores his him. Causing Brynn to start with an anxiety attack having to excuse herself so she can melt down privately.

Apparently during his twelve year absence a lot has happened in Brynn’s life, one being she suffered some kind of trauma and on top of it Aiden coming back. She is losing it, now her shawl has slipped off her shoulders and that startled her because she was left physical scars that Jared says disgust him to look at. When he touch her she assumes to lift shawl, he makes her jump. Truth be told she only dates him because her father kept pushing. She hates for him to touch her, she really dislikes him.

As for Aiden he is a consultant to businesses who are in trouble. He travels all over the world he has dated super models and the like. This is only the third time seeing, Brynn, and the other time one or the other left upon seeing each other. He came home to confront his mother about him and his other to brothers, Cian and Rory being bastards. Something he has felt and lived with the shame of his whole life.

The day he was getting ready to leave his so called stepfather he despised calls with a business proposal, but it had to be private and Brynn couldn’t know about it. His heart of hearts knew this was a bad call even listening to the idea but he had to see what he was dealing with. One problem, when he gets there Brynn is at the house she can’t understand why the two need to talk. When her dad says business she says she should be included since she is VP. Her dad says no, men only.

Let’s just say from here it really starts moving and believe me the action was intense as far as emotions are concerned already so hold on, the fun starts here. Aiden is your sexy as hell Irish protector, his brother’s all of them are loyal to the death and handsome as sin, and Brynn is a beautiful spirit who has been injured not only emotionally several times throughout her life by those who should love her, but physically by friend and foe. Yet, she keeps on and she is always present.

I give this: 5++++ stars. Purchased myself after reading Her Wicked Stepbrother

The Nolan novels just keep getting better and better, and Saint is my favorite so far. Amy Olle creates a tight, suspenseful storyline while keeping tension high and chemistry sizzling. The Brynn and Aiden love story is beautiful and bittersweet, with plenty of Olle's trademark steam. I appreciate Olle's strong female characters, this one a successful entrepreneur. Great story, beautiful prose, and delicious characters. Highly recommend!

This will give most a variety of emotions. Heartbreak, betrayal and forgiveness come into play. Brynn and Aiden get a second chance at love but first they have to get through some issues. He is now in control of HER company. The one she has slaved at for years. some how they have to find themselves and each other to get their HEA.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

**This book was provided to Nerd Girl Official in exchange for an honest review.**

Amy Oll’s Saint is the first full length novel in her Nolan Bastards Series. Saint is better enjoyed by reading her prequel novella, Her Wicked Stepbrother, which starts the story of Brynn and Aiden, and is continued in Saint.

There are past hurts and betrayals coloring Aiden’s return, and Bryan is having none of it. He may have taken everything from her before disappearing when they were young. But Brynn is different. Stronger. And she’s not giving up the business she toiled and sweated over to keep going, and she is not giving it over to that Nolan Bastard. Solid 4 star read.

After "Her Wicked Stepbrother" I've been waiting eagerly for this book and it didn't disappoint. 😊

I'm very happy that every Nolan brother has a (small) appearance as well. And I think I have to reread their stories... ❤️😊

Saint is a steamy adult romance that is part two of Brynne and Aiden’s story from Her Wicked Stepbrother but can be read as a standalone because it provides enough backstory. Alan, Brynne’s father, is married to Siobhan Hathaway, Brynne’s stepmother. Siobhan named her three sons after Irish legends and the oldest, Aiden, was named after a saint. But he definitely isn’t a saint. The story picks up twelve years after the end of Her Wicked Stepbrother. Brynne and Aiden were stepsiblings that fell in love, slept together, and got caught by her father. Alan kicked Aiden out of the family, and when Aiden asked Brynne to go with him, she didn’t. Betrayals all around. Neither Brynne nor Aiden have gotten over each other. Aiden is back now, 12 years later at the request of Alan, because he wants Aiden to take over the family business, cutting Brynne out of a position she has worked hard for. The reasons why are complicated, and the author keeps you in suspense as she slowly drops information bombs along the way. The mob, MMA fighters, the FBI, and Irish hotties! This book was impressive.

I didn’t know what to expect from this book. The emotions the author takes the readers through blew me away. I like that the story brought up their pasts, their hurts, and most of all their regrets. The love between Brynne and Aiden is intense and you root for them throughout the book. You also cheer for the Nolan brothers. The original story had three brothers, but you get to meet their five half-brothers in Saint, and it is cool how they bond, despite their crappy father. Readers will be enthralled the entire novel and shocked by the betrayals that occur. The writing was on point, with interesting supporting characters, and a great plotline. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Um...I haven't decided if I'll finish the series or not. Romance with mystery and thriller I'm all for. But it felt rushed.

Aiden is back in town after being gone for 12 years. Brynn never stopped loving him but wants to avoid him due to heartbreak. They both kinda hate each other and love each other.

You think that's it right? Nope. Brynn's dad Alan gives his business to Aiden randomly. You see, Aiden and Brynn are step siblings who had a relationship 12 years ago till the dad Alan kicked Aiden out.

So my issue with the book...while I love the banter with Aiden and Brynn I felt the book would rush some moments (explaining what happened to Brynn a year ago, the ending). Like I wanted to hear more about what Aiden did in those 12 years. Did Brynn go to college than take over the company? It's not a bad book by a long shot, it just felt rushed. Especially that ending. Like it wrapped up but didn't.

Captivating story

Brynn and Aidens love was froth with trepidation and turmoil, being separated for 12 years never losing their love for each other. Love at first site for Aiden to Brynn finding the one person who made her stronger and brought her out of her shell and fear. Sad that Brynn was loyal to her father who never took her feelings and love into consideration before thrusting her into dealings with the mob. Then to pushing his (Alan) company with mob dealings to the stepson (Aiden) who he kicked out of the family; hoping Aiden could fix his (Alan) company and removing his daughter from the mob dealings. Aiden and Brynn finally ending up together forming their own family.

Oh My Heart

I don’t think I’ve read a book yet that has given me so much heartache as I read it. From the beginning to about the third/halfway mark this book had my chest just aching with sadness for Aiden and Brynn. I’m glad I read the prequel Her Wicked Stepbrother because it definitely helped get acquainted with the characters as well as understand the heartache I felt so wholly while I was reading. I did find I needed to take a break for a couple hours while reading this because of how emotionally heavy this book was for me, but I loved it. My applause to the author for ripping out my heart, blending it up in a blender, stomping on it a few times and then giving it back held together with duct tape and a HEA.

Saint is extremely good but doesn't have quite the same impact as the prequel. Honestly if somehow the two books had been combined it would have been out of this world good, but as is it's still a very entertaining story. Brynn and Aiden are a very believable star crossed lovers couple. There's lots of sexual tension and a great love scenes as a pay off. Aiden's response to Brynn's scars is perfect. I did really appreciate the way the subject of rape was handled. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and I plan on reading the first series!

Triggers: violence, discussion of proir rape.

Ooo this was good. Now I want to read the other series by this author and of course continue this series as well. The characters were interesting, I liked that all the Nolan brothers are Irish. I had fun doing their accents in my mind as I read them talking. The story was good and entertaining. I didn't want to put the book down at all so this was definitely a good start to a series. I can't really say too much without giving too much away, only thing I can say is I like when things work out somehow. It's the getting there that is the best part, sometimes you have to go through tough things before you can get the prize. Happiness.

The hill and the saint

I enjoyed reading the 2 parts of Brynn and Aiden's story. Each part was read in one sitting because the story and the writing were that good. I read one after the other because I wanted to know my protagonists would be okay and finally together. I didn't really understand the ending but I just think that because the books were well written and thought out, I just had to give each installment of the story 5 stars. The series had elements that I like and dislike but I was okay with the balance. I need to reread this series. Good job, Olle!

The prequel sucked me in so I definitely had to read this book! I am happy that these two finally got their HEA because the ending in the last book gutted me. The plot in this one definitely took some turns that I did not see coming which kept me interested until the end. Saint is not a smutty book, so if you are looking for that then this book would not be for you (there is only one or two scenes towards the very end, 1/5 spice)!

Nolan Bastards Come to the Rescue

I thought Book 1 of this series was great, so I guess that makes this one extraordinary. The Nolan men are bastards only by birth, and really turn out to be better men than they were in Book 1. Riveting story. I again read this one start to finish and can’t wait to read more of the series. Enjoy.

p.s. I loved the HEA

3.75 stars! I didn’t like book 1 very much and this would’ve been 4.5 stars if brynn was a little bit smarter. She aged by 12 years and literally 30 years old, but so dumb and dense. She has no spunk or anything. She just blindly followed her dad even against her better judgement. Never once did she question anything and her inner monologue… ugh… she was just..

The book wasn't bad, but the story felt a bit slow at times and only really picked up towards the end. Still, I understand that this pace might be intentional, since i believe the remaining books would continue the story rather than be completely standalones.
Out of all the brothers, I'm most looking forward to reading Cian's book.

Aiden & Brynn

Loved the story of Aiden & Brynn, although it took them 12 years to find their way back to each other. There are triggers in this story that may not appeal to some, but it really was a great story.
