Shawn Raymond Poalillo is a retired Special Agent from the Department of Homeland Security with over twenty-four years of federal law enforcement experience. He spent the bulk of these years investigating drug smuggling, money laundering and terrorism cases.

Poalillo is certified in federal court as an expert in the areas of money laundering, bank record analysis and telephone toll analysis and can give expert testimony.

Having attended LIU/CW Post College, the author holds a BA in psychology and business and also graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glynco, Georgia.

"Writing is a great joy, each word a small victory. In my first novel - Rerun: A New Face of Terrorism - I tried to bring the realism of true-life law enforcement, something lacking in most novels of the genre, while mixing in an outlandish plot. Cops have a great time all the time. Nothing was serious until it had to be and then it became serious quickly.

"This same quality is seen in my third novel - The Girl With The Black Mark, another Special Agent Michael Poe story.

"Completely different is A Selfless Man, which is a departure from the other two and a more heart wrenching story.

"My goal is to entertain and take the reader away, if only briefly, to a different place. Enjoy!"

A brilliant, entertaining, suspenseful story, this is how I would describe The Vatican Cop. Michael Poe is a Special Agent for the U. S. Dept. of Homeland Security tasked by His Holiness the Pope to retrieve a stolen relic for the “sake of humanity.” The priest that had safeguarded the relic was murdered. The Pope has sworn Poe to a vow of secrecy and has made him a temporary Gendarmerie of the Holy See. What secrets is the Roman Catholic Church hiding? To assist Poe is Chief Investigator Lorenzo Marchesi and Investigator Giada Ferrari. Will they help Poe of hinder his efforts? One murder soon becomes two and another sacred relic is stolen. Something must be done to stop whatever sinister plot is occurring. Poe is the best of the best, but will this holy task be his undoing? The characters in the story are dynamic, complex and just yummy. Mr. Poalillo’s depiction of Rome and Tuscany places you right there with the characters. There are many twists and turns as well as surprises to keep anyone turning the pages.

Out Freaking Standing!!

I’ve read all the books in the special agent Poe Series and this was by far the best. He works with the Vatican police to help track down the murders of priests. Their being killed to reveal items hidden for over a thousand years. Well done Mr Poalillo. I hope you keep this series going and it would be good to see the cute little Italian police woman in the series some time.

Excellent, Excellent Read

Another great S/A Michael Poe book. Once again, Mr. Poalillo takes one big plot, several smaller ones and tosses them into the air and eventually, they collide. Fast and fun and: What an ending!

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

Some elite detectives are hired to find who is killing priests and stealing artifacts from inside the Vatican City and why, by the Pope. Even though they don't initially know what the artifacts are, they investigate.

Not bad, but I didn't keep my interest for the whole book.

I always jump on this author’s books. Fast paced, romance, good sex, but mostly unique story lines. When I think his books couldn’t get any better, they do.

Italy, ancient churches, dead priests, a hunchback . . . A book I read in two days and I’m a slow reader. Special Agent Michael Poe is at the top of his game in another plot that twists and turns right to the last sentence.

Highly Recommend.

Vatican cop is full of action and the story line is plausible enough to be scary. ( up to a point). I would pick up up other books by this author but I did have a few problems with it. I found it frustrating when they spoke in other languages and there was no translation. Thou normally just brief statements it broke the flow of the story. I also was frustrated with the female protagonist who’s personality waffles between tough and wimpy. This combined with jumps in the time line, it felt like there was suppose to be more but the book was too long so they randomly cut scenes. Finally the ending left me baffled.
I received this book free from a good read giveaway. I thank good reads and the author for allowing me a chance to read different authors.

Great book

This book was easy to read and full of adventure. Agent Michael Poe was asked to help keep some artifacts safe for the pope. The problem was that the officer in charge was keeping things from Poe and making his job just about impossible. He was given a babysitter investigator Giada Ferrari. She was supposed to keep him distracted by order of her boss but Poe figured that out quickly. Despite her hesitancy to go behind her bosses orders she soon learns to trust Poe as the case proves not all are to be trusted. Poe and Giada are forced to work the case in secret and alone. You must read to find out how they solved the case and how many times they escaped death.

Enjoyed the book

I enjoyed reading this story but the ending was very confusing. I still am not sure what it was about. I am not a fan of this type of ending. Rather have it be the description that draws me into the next book.

When another priest is found dead the Pope sends for assistance from the United States government asking for a certain agent to help track down the culprits before they find all the missing pieces that could unravel the Catholic Religion sending the world into chaos. Had a good timeline, believable story line along with the charismatic characters that compliments one another. Enjoyed it immensely.
