Thank you to author Amie Borst for the ebook to read and review.

When all the pegacorns go to the King of Wintersend to ask about winter ending, Callie stays behind too afraid to fly, she and her bird friend Noelle discover something magical an ice flower. Callie must go on an adventure to learn what they are about and overcome her fears of flying to save winter and Wintersend.

This felt so much like the classic 80’s/90’s my little pony series it had that wonderful retro vibe to the way the story was told. I absolutely loved it. I loved the adventure that Callie went on with each step she learnt something new and tried something new and met someone new.

There was a lot of lessons on offer whilst reading, you learnt about fears and how though it may not be easy they can be overcome, you learnt about friendship and having a good friend by yourself can get anything accomplished. It taught team work, and it taught self belief and determination. All very important lessons in life. They were all entwined into the story so naturally.

This book was written in such a fun way, you were following Callie and Noelle on the adventure the whole time, knowing that she would eventually fly. It’s got so much to inspire young children with, never giving up and that friends are there for you no matter what to guide through the scary things and that magic can truly come from within.

This would be a perfect book for children that are looking for something really magical to read. The whole story is magical, with magical characters, a wondrous world and so much more. It is a great chapter book and would also be great for early chapter book readers. It’s fun, easy and lighthearted to read and escape into.

This is the first book in Amie Borst’s series of ‘Unicorn tales’. I downloaded an e-book copy to read with my daughter and we were both excited to read it!

From the beginning we were captured by the beautiful descriptions of the Kingdom of Wintersend. We finally found out the name of a flying unicorn a ‘Pagacorn’ of course. The main character Callie is very likeable and she has a special gift which she doesn’t understand. We go on an adventure with her and Noelle, a red bird to discover why Callie has this gift. The two characters friendship is lovely and they both look after each other equally.

Callie makes a discovery about herself that will be life changing. She has to be brave and use lots of courage. My daughter and I talked about this after we had finished the story. We spoke about how Callie was afraid of flying and how she overcame her fear.

The adventure is exciting and interesting. We really enjoyed the fantasy elements in this story, and the descriptive storytelling really captured my daughters imagination.

This is a great chapter book for fans of fantasy and unicorn adventures. We will be looking forward to reading the next books in the series.

Join Callie and Noelle as the journey to see King Hollyberry. A journey made more difficult because Callie is afraid to o fly. Callie has discovered that she has the ability to create ice flowers and seeks answers from the King. On their journey they meet a fairy who grants her three wishes. Will Callie be able to overcome her fears and embrace the wonderful gift she has?

This is a delightful illustrated children’s chapter book. Young readers will love the ability to meet Callie and take this special journey with her. I recommend this book to young readers who have a special love for unicorns.

Word is spreading across the land that winter is coming to an end. This could be a disaster to the entire kingdom. Worried, young Pegacorn Callie wants to travel up the mountain to ask the king, but she is too scared to fly. Good thing, she's got some great friends to help her.

This enchanting tale about unicorns and Pegasus is simply a delightful read. It's wholesome, fun, and filled with some great messages. I highly recommend it for all young readers discovering chapter books!

Callie, the unicorn, was afraid to learn to fly. She longed to fly like her pegacorn friends. One day in search of the answer to where the magical ice flower came from, callie and her friend, Noelle were off on a long journey to ask the king. Along the way they met the Good Fairy Princess Snowflurry, who granted them three wishes. They also met Snow Bear who chased them. Callie and Noelle escaped from him determined more than ever to fine King Hollyberry. After finding the king something happened that turned fear into courage and Callie became who she was meant to be.

This book is full of magic. The themes of friendship, fear, mystery, encouragement, bravery, and fairies are creatively integrated throughout this magical, enjoyable, adventure.
