There are three things I know for certain about Montgomery St. Claire. One, he’s FINE. Two, he’s FILTHY (in the aspect of being rich). Three, he’s a FREAKIN’ mean, arrogant prick with a lot of dough who knows he can do anything he wants. Have anything he wants. Be anything he wants. We’re from different worlds. I’m modest and content. He’s rich and extraordinary. He’s a man who has it all, but if I’ve read him right, I see conflict in his green eyes. I recognize it so well because I have skeletons of my own. My life is complex and messy. So is his. It’s our complexities that ultimately bonds us. He has something for me I didn’t think I was worthy of. I have something for him he thought he’d never want. Together, we have the power to heal each other. To live. To love. We have FREEDOM. Apart, we’re broken. When our souls are in sync, we’re FIRE.

I've had this book in my Kindle Library since its release date, however, I'm just now reading it. I don't know why it took me so long to do so,but I'm glad I finally read it. It was really good!!!
I love the St. Claire series, this book just ok for me. My favorite of this series was Magnus. Some parts of this book was stupid to me. I really didn't like Cherish toward the middle of this book. How can she talk to Monty about opening up with his feeling when she couldn't do the same? I think what happen to her was said, but at the same time I felt it over kill with it. So what her mother didn't believe her, go to counseling and get over it. Secondly why does Monty use protection sometime but not all the time? Why does he need protection at all if their married? Why did he have protection in his nightstand if he never had a woman in his bed, nor was it ever mentioned that he's even been with a women. I do love that Monty and Major got to meet their brother and other family members though.
I knew Monty's story would be complex as each St Clair man is totally Alpha. I was so happy he had to fight to get his girl. And the fact she wasn't interested in his money was mighty good.
I actually really liked Monty and Cherish's relationship. The two rating is for (1) editing; (2) Monty's motivation for creating the taser. Black people aren't being killed because cops don't know the difference between a taser and a gun. They rarely use that excuse. They usually say it's because they feared for their life. It wasn't until the end of the book Monty says he didn't want them to be able to have that excuse so that's why he invented it. I think it would've helped to add in he invented it as a replacement for a gun or something else. The way it's setup and described is disappointing because it gives the appearance that we're being murdered because of confusion between weapons and lets cops off the hook; (3) It was fine that Cherish forgave her mother but they would never be able to recover to have a close relationship. The trust is way too broken. Then to have her give her away at the wedding AND buy her a house... absolute insanity. That is the definition of toxicity. Every person is not meant to be in your life, and that includes parents. It's okay to forgive, let go, and move on. This author has something good, but there's no growth in her writing.
Working 4am - 6am at only $50k is not enough. And she picks his clothes. Gtfoh. Im not liking Monty already. And why does Naomi have to sound so uneducated. I’m hating this stereotype
Monty is rude and unbearable. Idk how or why cherish is still attracted to him. She is also annoying bc she’s mad bc he don’t want to get deep with her. He don’t know her like that so don’t know why she taking offense to that. What she should be taking offense to is when he treats her like shit.
I love major. He reminds me of regal.
Cherish’s mom is trash if what I think happened really happened with her step father
That confession of love was wack
Oh cherish wanted to get all in Monty’s business but now she trying to be elusive
Aww the reunion with Magnus was touching
I call bullshit. How did cherish not know she was signing a license and if she didn’t that’s fraudulent and Sylvia would be trash for that.
I thought mason and his kids had dark eyes and Monty n them got their green eyes from their mom
Um no. I do not forgive Cherish’s mom. Idc what her reasoning in her head.
Glad the boys met the rest of the st Claire clan. I need a book major
I really wanted to like this book more. It wasn't terrible, but it fell flat in comparison to the other St. Claire stories. The story line dragged on longer than necessary.
As always I did enjoy the characters. Monty was finer than fine, but was mean, grumpy and seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. His disdain for people was gross. He was extremely smart and focused on being the best inventor because he felt that was all he had to offer.
Cherish was Monty's personal assistant. Over the years she took it as her personal responsibility to make his life easier, even if she had to get up early and leave late to do so. Although Monty was ungrateful she believed deep down he was a great man.
Monty had some unresolved family issues and it hindered him in his personal relationships, because he had to prove he was worthy and he could only do that by being successful. While I enjoyed seeing all of the characters come together it dragged on.
This story lacked true cohesion to me. There was a lot of push and pull and these people truly needed therapy.
Montgomery St. Claire is a very wealthy, stuffy, demanding, condescending jerk. Cherish Stevens is his non-assuming personal assistant who both likes and loathes him.
This is like a Beauty and the Beast retelling of sorts; except Montgomery is only a beast in his actions, not his looks. Cherish has had a crush on him for two years, but is sure that he doesn't even know her name. She's wrong. Montgomery has been secretly watching her.
There was a lot to unpack in this story; Montgomery reconnects with Magnus, a brother he didn't know he had. Cherish has to deal with deep seeded issues with her mother and stepfather. There's an accident that could've ended their romance before it ever had the chance to begin. And they have to weather the storms of uncertainty, painful memories, and newfound intimacy.
I really enjoyed this book. Much like Magnus, the previous book in this series, there are some story inconsistencies. I recommend suspending disbelief, kicking off your shoes, and diving into this sweet romantic novel.
Great story about Monty and Cherish Monty is another St Claire although he doesn't know his other brother or cousins This story follows how he falls in love with Cherish who loved him before he ever acknowledged her Both had a lot of issues to deal with from their childhood but the the ultimately found with each other helped them overcome Story did bring up child molestation so if this is a trigger please be aware Great job as always Ms Tina Already read Major and thoroughly enjoyed it Looking forward reading more of your books and the novella you wrote about Monty and Cherish
I've had this book since the day it came out, but I didn't read it. I'll chalk it up to being Magnus' fault. I wasn't trying to hear of see anybody after loving that book so much. Well, silly me. I absolutely love this story and this couple. If music soothes the savage beast, then Cherry is Monty's melody. They were perfect for each other. Her calm, loving, tender ways calmed his rough, rude, hurt ways and attitude. They both have past fears, pain and in Cherish' case, demons to overcome, but they are doing it together and enjoying their new relationship in the process. Like, really enjoying it. Excellent addition to the St. Claire series Mrs. Martin.
Again this was well written and the character building was appreciated. I love seeing how the family grows without numerous characters from previous books taking over the current book. The heroines in all the books are strong and very giving. Once the heroes fall in love, they are all in. I will say that the forgiveness between Cherry and her mother was over the top unbelievable and where did Mason's green eyes come from. Be consistent. Major is next.
Monty and Cherish... Theirs is the kind of love that will last an eternity because they had so much baggage and pain before they got together. Even though Monty is super rich he was so unhappy and didn't even realize it until Cherish spelled it out for him. And even Cherish seemed to be so happy to everyone she was broken due to her abusive stepfather. Well he's really a child molester. And hopefully he rots in jail. But I'm glad everything worked out for them and they can live a happy life.
I enjoyed this read, yet it was lengthy. Monty St. Claire is wealthy and arrogant. Life could teach him a lesson in being humble. He's a man chasing his dollars and that's his priority.
Cherish is Monty's personal asst. (someone he's basically ignored for two yrs.). He never referred to her by her name...so arrogant and dismissive, but he was still her man crush. They were from two different worlds and she knew they could never be, but it was okay to dream.
Oh my gosh, don't know how to describe it but can definitely tell you I liked it. Monty will have your emotions all the over the place, but if you hang in there I promise he'll make you love him. Enjoyed Cherish standing up to mean Monty while she was hiding her secret crush on him. That pool scene had me holding MY breath, smh. Loved the family reconnection between the brothers, then their extended family. Tina Martin will keep you coming back for more.
This was an alluring, sensual, pleasurable and attractive story to read from beginning to end. I love the attraction of the two souls at the beginning, even though It was a little rough and twisted at first, but loving the way the relationship blossomed into a beautiful flower with many layers. Mom knew exactly what she was doing. Definitely a great read. ReneeG 👍
Wow every time I’ve completed a book in this series I think it can’t get any better. This beautiful love story shows how Patience and unconditional Love can bring about transformation when I was first introduced on Montgomery (Monty) I disliked him a great deal..Thank Goodness for a wise mom and a women who was loved deeply and was patient. The book has some surprising twist and turns and was an enjoyable read.
This novel started out with a one-sided love story. Cherish was in love with Monty but he was so detached, he didn't know that what he needed was right in front of him catering to his needs for 2 years! They were so beautiful together! I loved how they met with the other St. Claire's and I look forward to reading Major's story and him finding love. That Paige was a trip! This series is so good! Loving it Ms. Martin!
WOW! I have to say this is amazing! This is a fantastic series the stories will bring a smile to your face. The characters are awesome and their chemistry burns up the pages. It's full of emotions and feisty heroines with handsome heroes. I can tell you that you will enjoy this story, especially if you don't mind cliffhangers. If nothing else every page will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. This is definitely a five stars
Monty had to learn that you can have love as well as the billion dollar company. Love can help tear through the toughest of hearts. I loved the way you included the aspect of sexual abuse and how the effects can cause challenges and separate families. Wonderfully written.
Ohhhjj I so love the St Claire series this is really what i envision when I think of black romance … we don’t get enough credit for being humans with emotions and desire for love and romance … so this series is much appreciated thank you to the author Ms Tina Martin… you’ve gained a follower ! Happy reading
There were a few corny places in the book, but the romance was so on point!! Absolutely loved Monty!!! Tina did a great job explaining forgiveness. Can't wait for Major's book. Oh and the length of this book 🥰🥰
Ok favorite character is Miss Kettle worth! She made the whole book to me. It's a good book and I love the to follow up on previous characters but at one point it did start getting a little cheesy.
I have enjoyed reading about the St. Claire family. The stories are well developed and the well connected. I haven’t figured out which St. Claire I like the best, but each is special. Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy.
I love the fact that I don’t have to read the St. Claire men stories in order. Makes me long for a fairy tale story of my own. It’s a touching and humbling love story. In other words money can’t buy you love.
Tina does it again! We all have a past, but love will get us through it all. Love can change the hardest heart. I love the story line. Cherish the day and love with your whole heart.
Monty is as arrogant as they come. He is in desperate need of a slice of humble pie, insert Cherish. At times I found her slightly irritating when she couldn't find her voice to call him out when needed but I really enjoyed their journey through love!
Man Monty was a real SOB but Cherish got a hold to him and the rest is history. Cherish mom did have me ready to fight her since she didn’t believe her child when she said her husband was touching her but for some victims this is their reality.
I just started reading about these St. Claire men less than a week ago up all times of the night to finish as much as I can before sleep calls my name! Monty and Cherry’s love story is a must read. It’s a story of love, endurance, forgiveness and healing
This is a great story it let us see what you go through when you are not believed by people who should know you best. The book has a lot of twists and turns about family love and sadness to get to happy ever after
It took me a moment to buy into this romance..Monty was so mean I couldn't understand how Cherish had fallen until Monty had changed. Interested in the other St. Claire siblings.
