I read the 2nd book In this series and absolutely loved it, so was desperate to read the next book and be reacquainted with all the wonderful characters that feel as familiar to me as if they were my own friends also!!

Rosie has moved to Willerby after discovering her boyfriend cheated on her. She is the Manager of the Windmill Cafe and has made several new friends.

Josh and Grace are getting married, a bike race is arranged as a pre wedding activity but Theo is injured by a wire trap that has been deliberately set up. But who would do that?

Matt and Rosie team up again to investigate and find out who the culprit is. Really enjoy their interaction and watching their budding relationship develop.

Loved this mystery book and it’s wonderful characters. Would love to live in this village and visit the Windmill cafe with its delightful cakes.

Looking forward to reading more in this series, I love a good whodunnit and this series has me enthralled.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

I was looking forward to reading the final part in this series and didn't disappoint me at all this book was my favourite out of the three it flowed so well and the characters were great. Full of Christmas and mystery with romance and a simple read with a great conclusion.
Rosie is continuing to work in the windmill cafe and her ex has turned up wanting to make amends and offer her a stake in the business she has a decision to make as she has fallen for gorgeous Matt and who does she really want to be with. She's organised a Christmas tree festival at her cafe and they are busy sorting it out there is also a wedding to arrange. While out on a bike race someone makes a short cut and is knocked off the bike by a trap they didn't see. So they ask poppy again to see if she can solve who did it as she is quicker than the police. Problem is everyone has a reason why they may have done it so can she find out who it is and in doing so will it put her in danger or not and will she realise what and who she really wants as well and be happy.
A great read and great conclusion sorry the series has finished.

I love the Windmill cafe series-this in the final book in the series.
There is a wedding booked and the stag and hen party are staying. When one of the guests has an accident Rosie is asked to investigate along with Matt, who runs the outward bound centre. The spark between them is starting to ignite.
A Christmas Tree competition has sparked everyones imagination and they all want to create a masterpiece and some of the decorations sound just wonderful.

Without doubt The Windmill Café series has been a highlight of my reading this year, I chanced upon it by accident when I spotted book one Summer Breeze and have been enthralled ever since. What sets this series apart is that it's not your usual run of the mill girl meets boy story, instead within each book is an element of mystery that pervades throughout the story and our main character Rosie Barnes has become the investigator. Normally I would run a mile from these kind of books but Poppy Blake has achieved a brilliant balance between the mystery, comedy, some serious issues and of course romance. Sadly we have reached the conclusion of this series with The Windmill Café: Christmas Trees and suffice to say it was another brilliant read keeping the reader hooked and engaged from beginning to end. There were plenty of questions arising from the first two books that needed definite answers but again the element of mystery which I so adore was present. But surely sinister things can not be occurring at the most wonderful time of year especially with a wedding just around the corner?

Rosie Barnes helps to run the Windmill Café and the adjacent luxury holiday site in the absence of the owner Graham, who likes to spend his time travelling to far flung destinations. Rosie is ably assisted by her friend Mia, who is chaotic, yet enthusiastic and loyal. As the Christmas season draws ever nearer the range of enticing treats available in the café expands on a daily basis. The smells and sights of minced pies, yule logs, iced ginger biscuits, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves are mouth watering. But don't be fooled into thinking this is just another café book of which we've all read so many of before, Poppy Blake has gone beyond the realm of endlessly describing delicacies, nice although they may be, and given the 'café genre' a new twist by always having some crime or misdemeanour to solve alongside keeping the café and holiday site running smoothly.

Rosie has only been in Willerby for several months and just when she was settling into a new life and attempting to put the past behind her, unfortunately the past made a reappearance but thankfully she has now put her foot down and put the past in its place. But it's the future she needs to look forward to and to decide will she open up to Matt, co owner of Ultimate Adventures, and partner in crime when it comes to solving all the unusual circumstances that seem to crop up? They are really becoming amateur super sleuths extraordinare. Or will another proposition be too tempting and once again Rosie will flee? 'She couldn't envisage being any happier than she was at The Windmill Café surrounded by friends who loved her and accepted her for what and who she was, foibles and all. Surely no gold plated business opportunity could come closer to delivering that?'

Rosie is a complex character, not straight forward by any means, but as she battles inner demons in contrast to the sanctuary, but also the excitement of the café and the people she has met and now comes to call friends, she must decide once and for all what her final decision should be. Should she leave or should she try and make a go of things with Matt? 'But what you have here is more than just a job. You have a home and you are surrounded by friends you love- not to mention a guy who thinks the world of you'. Rosie's obsession with cleanliness and order and abhorrence to clutter and disorganisation leads to anxiety and it controlling her life whereas baking gives her the break she needs from this stress.

It was brilliant to get an even deeper glimpse into Rosie's past to learn and understand why she thought and acted the way she did. I had even more compassion for her as character and it made me wish even more for a positive outcome for her. She is changing but I think she needed one more final push to truly express how she feels and make that final commitment needed to find full and true happiness. 'She was a totally different person to the one who had arrived at the café, draped in a mantle of gloom that she's worn as some sort of protective battle armour - and there was one person who had contributed to that improvement more than any other'. But as a stag party gather to celebrate the upcoming Christmas wedding of Grace and Josh, Rosie will once again find herself out of her comfort zone and working alongside Matt to discover who would want one of the stag party - Theo - to meet with an unfortunate accident?

When Theo doesn't make it back from the cycling activity the stag party have engaged in, worries arise and soon he is found injured and unconscious. Just who could have set things up and who would have known Theo would venture off the normal route in his quest to outdo and be better than everyone else? Naturally suspicion falls on the various members of the group and as Rosie and Matt work together establishing motives and trying to rule people out one by one more than a few surprising revelations occur. That's what I really love about these books the wool is always pulled over my eyes and even when the big, pivotal moment arrives and things are being wrapped up I'm still guessing as to who the culprit could be? More importantly what were the reasons for wanting rid of somebody? Suffice to say it's always the one you least expect and you think god I really should have paid closer attention to him or her. The connections established between the guilty party and the person to whom the damage has been done are never flimsy or too far fetched instead you think ah that really does make sense and I get why everything occurred.

As the group work away on their creations for the Christmas Tree Carousel Competition, Matt and Rosie delve even deeper because Grace and Josh want everything resolved before they marry. They can't have a suspect amongst their wedding party which would only create angst and unease. Theo like all the previous culprits was a horrible character and one whom you begin to think really did deserve to get what came to him. Maybe not to be written off completely but still a little torment was what he needed. He was so competitive and combined with his arrogant, condescending and bullying nature really it was only a matter of time before someone decided to do something about it. He has trampled on so many people's dreams to get what he wants but will the same happen for Grace and Josh or will Rosie and Matt win in the race against time and discover the mystery behind everything? I was so keen to find out and it was just a joy to see Rosie become more determined and confident in the entire process of doing so.

The Windmill Café: Christmas Trees was a brilliant and exciting conclusion to what has had to have been one of my top reads of the year. It's a little gem of a trilogy that shouldn’t get lost amongst all the women's fiction books that are published every year. It has showcased what a talent Poppy Blake is and I am very interested to see what she will write next. She has found her formula and it is very successful but will she go even further and venture down different paths in future books? If you haven't read any of these books yet I suggest you start with Summer breeze and work your way through the three books. They are an absolute delight to read and it was a privilege to journey with Rosie as she navigates uncertain and unstable waters. Will she find happiness with Matt? Will the culprit roam free? To find out the answers to these questions and so many more and to just enjoy an excellent story do pick up this book as soon as possible.

This is the third book of Poppy Blake's 'The Windmill Café' series which I was not aware of before I started reading however this wasn't a problem as the lovely tale was easy to follow as a stand-alone short story.

It is a lovely Christmas story with all the friendship, romance, mystery and suspense which goes into making the perfect family Christmas romance.  I enjoyed the fast pace of this book which is expertly penned and will be recommending to fellow readers.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Impulse and Killer Reads and Poppy Blake for the opportunity to read and review this novel.

The third instalment of the Windmill Cafe follows the same formula as the first two with the culmination of the ‘will they won’t they’ relationship between Matt and Rosie. Not quite as many yummy food descriptions as in the previous two. Not disappointing but not overly exciting either. I liked it but didn’t love it.

The perfect magical festive read. Absolutely lovely! This is the third in the series of The Windmill Café - another delightful story by Poppy Blake! We are back with Rosie at her wonderful Windmill Cafe with super characters, a great story line, lots of mystery and plenty of romance and fun! I loved the Christmas Tree Festival - what a great idea!

A book full of festivity, love, friendship and happiness - definitely been a great series and I have loved all three books in this series. Rosie and Matt are the best couple and team and I would love to hear more about their future.

This can be read as a standalone book but I would highly recommend reading the other two first as they great stories and very enjoyable! I am now off to make homemade lemonade, sticky chocolate brownies and mince pies - the perfect combination for reading this book!

This review is based on a NetGalley ARC provided in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.

Honestly I only forced myself to read this as I’d read the other two and I wanted to finish the series. They’re not terrible books, they just have no depth to them. Storyline is basically the same format as the previous two books, and the incident that happened to Theo and especially Rosie in this book were extreme and unbelievable.

The Windmill Cafe: Christmas Trees, is the third book in the Windmill Cafe series by author Poppy Blake. I did not realize that this story was the third installment of short stories. However, I had no problem following the story even though I have not read the previous two that have been released. The first installment is called The Windmill Cafe: Summer Breeze. The second installment is called The Windmill Cafe: Autumn Leaves. I am hoping that the author combines the three and releases them as one full length novel. Each of these can be read as a stand-alone. However, I would recommend reading them in order so that it is easier to understand the references to the characters from the previous releases.

Rosie Barnes owns the Windmill Cafe, and Christmas is quickly approaching. Her friends, Josh and Grace, are getting married on Christmas Eve, and she also needs to prepare for her Christmas Tree Carousel competition. Needless to say, she will definitely be busy this holiday season. Also on her list of things to do, she needs to make a decision in her personal life regarding her ex-husband and Matt, the new man she has her sights set on. Sounds easy, right? Well, of course things never go as planned. There is an accident in the woods, and Rosie needs to figure out if it truly was an accident, or is someone specifically targeting the people involved in the wedding. Never a dull moment at the Windmill Cafe!

This story is fast paced and brilliantly written. I love the mystery and romance that takes place, and feel like the author blended the two together perfectly. This is a book that has a bit of everything in it...mystery and suspense, family and friendships, and love and romance. Overall, this was a very entertaining and fantastic read!

I would like to thank Harper Impulse and Killer Reads, as well as NetGalley, for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

The Windmill Café: Christmas Trees is the third book in The Windmill Café series. Rosie Barnes lives and works in a windmill café and is excited about the upcoming Christmas Tree Carousel competition and the wedding of her friends Grace and Josh. The excitement is ruined when Theo, a member of the stag party, is injured during a biking competition and it appears to be no accident. It seems that anyone with motive to injure Theo must be involved in the wedding and Grace doesn’t want her wedding to go ahead unless the mystery is solved first. So Rosie teams up with outward bound instructor Matt to try and find the culprit so the wedding can go ahead.

I hadn’t read the first two books in the series before reading this. There’s enough brief mentions of events in previous books to get a hint of the important facts regarding the relationships between the characters to be able to enjoy this book as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed this book and intend on reading the first two books.

The book felt incredibly Christmassy from the very beginning, with mouth-watering descriptions of wonderful festive bakes. The mystery was interesting, with lots of juicy secrets being revealed about the potential suspects.

There’s a large cast of characters, and while it was hard to remember who was who at first, they all have distinct looks and traits described in detail.

The blossoming romance between Rosie and Matt was heart-warming, against the wintery backdrop of The Windmill Café, with the added excitement of the investigation into the accident. There’s also plenty of romance between the other couples in the story.

This book ticks all the boxes for a feel-good Christmas mystery-romance. I thoroughly recommend.

Okay so hands up who made a slight error! I thought when I requested this book it was the finished version, it was in fact part 3 (of 3 short stories - due to be combined into 1 complete novel).

But oh wow it did not disappoint! There were a number of characters to meet but it quickly settled down so I knew who was who and their role in the story. Grace and Josh are due to get married on Christmas Eve but on the stag party a member of the merry gang has an incident....

Rosie teams up the delightful Matt to attempt to 'save' the wedding by trying to solve the mystery of whether this accident was intentional and, of course, whodunit?! I thought the book was brilliant and full of mystery - the story was written so the culprit could be any 1 of a number of people so it kept me guessing right to the end. The best part for me was the Poirot-esque getting everyone together at the end for the big reveal and hearing how they could/couldn't have done it.

The book alludes to some heartbreak for Rosie, which I'm guessing was focused on in one of the previous 2 parts, but will she get together with Matt and find a little festive romance for herself along the way?

I will definitely be purchasing the finished book and highly recommend it to others - a big dollop of mystery with a spoonful of intrigue and a pinch of romance, I loved it!

My thanks to HarperImpulse and NetGalley for allowing me to read this advance readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first by this author but it won't be my last... I will be adding the other's in this series to my TBR pile and will re-read this one in the correct order.

I didn't realise this was the 3rd instalment in this series when I requested it on Netgalley but that said I think you can read it as a stand-alone... you just won't understand the references to things from previous books.

A Christmas setting... romance and a bit of a mystery... what more could you want?

Rosie works in the Windmill Café, she's organizing the Christmas Tree Festival whilst trying to organise a wedding for her friends, her ex turned up wanting to make amends, he offers her a stake in the business. Rosie has fallen for the gorgeous Matt... but... who does she really want to be with?

Poppy is asked to solve a mystery... A member of the bachelor party is injured in a bike race... they took a short cut and went into a trap they didn't see... was it an accident and who put it there? Everyone has a reason why they may have done it... so can Poppy get to the bottom of it without putting herself in danger. Will she realise what and who she wants in life to find happiness?

A lovely, entertaining read.

Thank-You Netgalley for my ARC.

Book 3 of a 3 book series. New author for me, but this series The Windmill Cafe has been on my to be read list for a while, so glad I’m finally getting around to reading it.

Book three has been a just as enjoyable as book one and two, only bonus with this one, is that Christmas is featured, do love a Christmas theme within a story and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. Just like with book 2 it was great being able to get reacquainted with the main characters again, being Rosie, Mia, Matt and Freddie. Oh and Rosie and Matt got to be sleuth detectives again, trying to solve the mystery before getting police involvement, have to say they are pretty good at it, although they got more than they bargained for this time, especially Rosie.

Again with this book, there was mention of lots of yummy food that Rose and Mia made, all of which made me hungry lol. I do wish that the author had done a bonus section at the end of the book where recipes were includes for some of these yummy sounding delights 😊.

Anyway if you haven’t discovered the delightful books by Poppy then be sure to give her a try, I’m sure glad that I did.

The Windmill Café: Christmas Trees by Poppy Blake is another delightful escape to Willerby as we join the residents battling to solve a crime before a Christmas wedding.
This is my third trip to the small Norfolk village and once again, I was both enchanted and perplexed by village life.
The crime busting duo once more, put on their amateur sleuthing hats to solve the mystery. Willerby seems to have as many perpetrators of crimes visiting as sleepy Midsomer on ITV!
I was entertained trying to guess whodunit. A warm welcome awaits the reader from the locals as they prepare for both a wedding and a Christmas tree competition.
Christmas Trees is a mix of Miss Marple meets Death In Paradise with its light-hearted atmosphere and its super sleuths.
Once again Poppy Blake has produced a most entertaining read that would translate perfectly into a Channel 5 afternoon movie. A great fun read.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Disclaimer: I had not read the previous books in #TheWindmillCafe Series; however, I am living proof that you don’t need to.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it had a little bit of romance, friendship, family and suspense. Having gone in blind, I hadn’t realized that there was a whodunit plot in each of the books in the series. I enjoyed learning more about each of the characters, not just their good side, the ‘perfect’ face they show the world but thanks to the detective duo we see under the veneer which was a surprising perk of this read.
I have rated this book four stars due to working out the culprit well in advance but moreover, I felt I needed to know a bit more about their extreme reaction to Rosie as well as what happened after they were carted off in cuffs.
Having said that this is still an excellent quick read and I’d like to thank #Netgalley, #HarperCollins and #HarperImpluse for the Advanced Readers Copy

This is a pleasant holiday romance with a touch of mystery. Third in a series, the previous titles would probably add more depth to the story, but I had no problem following the characters despite missing the first two books. While pondering a business offer to return to London, Rosie prepares the cafe to host a Christmas tree decoration contest and her friends' Christmas Eve wedding. Then a not-so-accidental accident happens to one of the stag party and the mystery begins.
Very pleasant if predictable cozy mystery/romance. Most was quite enjoyable with lovely Christmas touches, though saccharine bits crept into the middle part a few times. And so lovely to have a mystery with no dead bodies....

I did enjoy this book and feel oddly bereft now I've finished it. So why didn't I give it 5 stars?? Good question. In some ways I preferred Autumn Leaves and I preferred Christmas Trees in others. I admit, in both Autumn Leaves and Christmas Trees I figured out whodunit (not so much Summer Breeze although I wasn't far off!!) but that didn't spoil my enjoyment at all. I will definitely read more by Poppy Blake. These books are definitely worth a read. Thanks to NetGalley and Publishers for my copy.

Coyer Back To Basics

This was a mystery wrapped in holiday wrapping. Though the romance of the two main characters felt flat to me the mystery was interesting. A wedding is happening this holiday season and The Windmill Cafe is in the center of it. After an accident at a bike races seems to be a deadly attack. Two amateur sleuths try to solve the case before a wedding is ruined and also fix the distance in their relationship. I was caught up in the mystery of the story but would have liked more romance.

I received this ebook from NetGalley for an honest review. This is a great cozy mystery taking place at Christmas time. I loved the location and I never got lost keeping all of the friends and family straight (that is normally a challenge for me.) To top off all off, I was still running people through my head as suspects right up to the very last chapter! Yay! It was very enjoyable...to the point that I was up most of the night to finish it. ;)

This book's lovely, entertaining and fun to read. I loved the plot, the characters and the settings, so cozy and friendly.
It's a stand-alone novel but it's better to read the previous instalments in order to have a better understament.

I’ve loved reading this trilogy, a good mix of romance and mystery. I felt like this book really ramped up on the mystery side, I won’t give spoilers but the scene with Rosie really had me gripped. I figured out the culprit for the first time in these books which was fab and I’m glad Rosie finally got her happy ending.

Although predictable and similar to two previous books, this one might be the best of the three with extra unexpected turns of events.
