Avery is a BDSM author. She is quite successful at what she does. She has been visiting her local BDSM club since she was seventeen and normally uses it to research each of her books. She is a switch, but she hasn't had a partner in four years. Her last relationship soured her against participating in the lifestyle. She has been a voyeur during this time. However, things are about to change.

Geoffrey is a famous British actor. Twenty years ago, he was an alcoholic and is now in recovery. He has been married four times and is happy in his current marriage. However, he needs more that his wife can give him. Luckily, they have an open marriage. And what he wants is Avery.

Initially, Avery fights against her attraction for Geoffrey. She doesn't want to be a mistress to a married man. Once things get settled there and the situation is explained, they go down the rabbit hole, and sign into a contract. Emotions become embroiled and both are unaware and scared of the changes that are occurring between the two of them.

How can they continue with their contract with their feelings growing to be more than they both signed on for? How will this affect Geoffrey's marriage? How will this affect Avery's life? Good book.

Trust...It's all about trust. The lifestyle is very powerful intense world filled with trust and open communication. She has been in the lifestyle and definitely is knowledgeable considering she is a writer. She has a gift for observing people and creating ideas to write about. Avery has some bad experiences in the past. Of course, she's going to be leary about getting involved with another Dom. However, when a famous actor approaches her, she's totally caught off guard. How much resistance can she have? Add another ummm...issue...Gregory is married and has been married before. I mean, Gregory is on wife #4! Gregory and his wife have an open relationship and that just adds more fuel to the fire. This book captured me and I couldn't be released if I tried. This book will claim you!

missed its mark

I think all the thought processes had the potential to be a great read. However I just think it was executed poorly. Not everything jived together. There were inconsistencies which is my absolute worst pet peeve. I guess overall I felt it tried to hard and just failed to deliver.

Dnf, I made it 20% in and had to quit. Too many spelling and grammar errors. The story didnt captivate me.
