A HUNTER BORN is the first book in the Hired Hunters series. It is also a spin-off of the Misfits & Rogues Series. This is a continuing series and will need to read them in the order of release.
If you haven’t read the Misfits and Rogues Series, the only thing you need to know is that when a vampire is turned – willingly – he or she signs a contract providing service to his sire for 200 years as a paid worker. This does not have to be slavery or servitude, though some masters/sires can be exceedingly cruel. The main character of A HUNTER BORN, Morgan, is an enforcer who retrieves vampires who have decided to renege on their contract – by running away.
I loved visiting New Orleans with Morgan and her team. I’ve never been there, except through the books that I have read. I’d hate to go for real, because I’d be disappointed to not find the vampires, werewolves, and dragons of my fantasy worlds.
The chemistry between Morgan, a born vampire Hunter, and Travis St. John a human (?) cop is off-the-charts steamy. Their story is exciting. I’m looking forward to their future with anticipation.
I loved this first book in this new series. There are some great twists and surprises. This is going to be a wonderful addition to the Misfits world.

After reading Kimberly Forrest's Misfits and Rogues series, I was excited to see that she was coming out with a new series that loosely ties into the Misfits and Rogues world.
Morgan Rhys is a vampire who has made a name for herself as a hunter despite everyone trying to keep her in a mold. As a Born she is one of the few that can travel during the daylight which has helped her team really make good on their contracts.
Vampires and other known paranormals aren't always on the friendliest of terms, so imagine Morgan's surprise when she gets a call to investigate the murder of innocent witches. But things get a bit more complicated when she meets a human cop investigated one of the witches murders. He makes her fight or flight instincts rise, but Morgan isn't one to back down and will get to the bottom of these murders...even if it does happen to be one of her own kind (a vampire) doing it.
Travis St. John came to New Orleans under the guise joining the police force. But his motives aren't completely innocent, especially since he's determined to find a way to arrest the Vampire Born in charge of the territory to try and discover what happened to his sister. Morgan may be able to help Travis to get the answers he seeks, but she is also a distraction he doesn't exactly need right now.
I'm so excited to get to see a new perspective on this world and getting to see how the events that happened in Emmaline's book will impact the vampires, witches, and other paranormals.

I love NOLO as the main city for things to happen, so much rich history. I also love a strong female lead, and Morgan is indeed that. She's protective of her crew above anything else and goes to whatever lengths are needed to keep them safe.
Travis is the perfect fit for Morgan and who doesn't love a man with a secret getaway in the bayou?
I liked the mixture of magical and gun toting fights, everyone using their weapon of choice, and a little witchery in NOLO certainly fits.
Overall a short and entertaining read. Doesn't bog down, the plot keeps moving forward. I also liked that it's not a true cliffhanger at the end but does leave room for more to be told. I'll be interested to see how Morgan and Travis' story continues

Get ready for a fantastic page-turner! “A Hunter Born” is the awesome 1st book from the ‘Hired Hunters’ series that grabbed me from page one, so that I read it all in one day! ... A fresh new storyline like I’ve never read before, with Vamps, shifters & witches and great descriptions that played like a movie in my head! ... Steamy romance, action & surprise twists with well-defined relatable characters like the H/h, Travis & Morgan, plus witty dialogue will have readers hooked and wanting more just like me! ... I was happy to find this available during my Kindle Unlimited, “trial” membership, so yes I can honestly recommend this book to adult fans of fiction and I am on to read the 2nd book now!

Morgan is contacted by a witch to investigate the suspicious deaths of witches in New Orleans. Ride along as she investigates who might be responsible & meets a mysterious man who could make or break her investigation.

This is the 4th book I've read written by Kimberly Forrest; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Witches, wolves, and vampires oh my!
Morgan a Vampire Hunter even though she's vampire herself was hired by a witcj to figure out who's behind all these recently murdered witches. So she takes her team and they get to work. Where she meets Travis. And opposites do attract even though they aren't supposed to. This is my first read from this author and I loved it. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

A Hunter Born by Kimberly Forrest is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series and I can not wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about vampires, fantasy and paranormal romances.

Morgan said her team are basically supernatural bounty hunters who are very good at what they do. Morgan takes a job working for some witches, which is something that would be considered betrayal, and investigates the vampire leader of a territory that includes new Orleans. The more she learns the worse it gets. There is violence and adult content.

What a great first book to start a series with that I'll definitely have to finish. If you like paranormal romance that features a strong female lead then this is the book for you. Great to see that the vampire hunters take care of other supernatural beings besides their own. Not allowing their own to act out of hand. I cant wait to finish this series.

An enjoyable fast-paced, action-packed read.
I quite liked Morgan, Travis and her team.
Although I've to say I thought the misdirects as to who/what he is were rather obvious just like what he turned out to be.
Apart from that nothing of note really, looking forward to reading the other team member's stories...

Vampires, witches and shifters this book has them all. The was between the species is just beginning, can it be avoided or will there be bloodshed. The story is fast moving and intriguing. Morgan and Travis are great characters. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Awesome read! Highly recommend. Along with an innovative, fast-paced plot, the camaraderie among our new favorite hunter team was so much fun to experience. Plus, Travis's secret was pretty cool and unexpected. Eagerly looking forward to more in this series.

A fantastic spin off that focuses on a ragtag group of Hunters. I really loved the story. It was fast paced, action paced and sexy! I can’t wait to see more from this work and these characters!

Morgan is a Born Hunter. She and her team are hired to visit New Orleans and investigate murders of witches. While there she meets Travis, a cop, trying to find his sister. Everything may come down to a powerful, insane vampire who runs the city. Will they survive the Big Easy?

Recommend by a friend and I couldn't be happier. The story is well developed and the characters have a charisma that makes you want to keep reading.

I was hooked on this one from the start. Despite a few awkward sentences and missed typos the narrative is well written allowing for an easy movie feel, the story is highly engaging, and the characters were relatable and likeable. I'm definitely going to read the sequel.
