An FBI agent was sent from his home office in Little Rock Arkansas to Lake Havasu Arizona to investigate a drowning in the lake. He had no idea why he was sent two thousand miles to check out a drowning. He was given no information about the who or the why. The first thing he discovers, is that the man had not drowned. The second thing he discovers, was that the city police had no intention of investigating what was most likely a murder. His investigation takes many turns. It exposes several serious crimes, anyone of which could be the motive for murder. Each crime seems to lead to a legendary hit man known as the Dragon Maker. He has been a legend for twenty years and no one knows his identity.
One of the best murder mysteries I've read. Max Porter did a great job telling this tale. It was the first book of his that I read and I became a fan. His Western are good reads also and I highly recommend reading his books. They are hare to find on kindle because they're hidden in with a bunch of paranormal scrap with a character named Max Porter.
