What I liked about this book is how funny it is. Not hilarious funny but chuckle funny. I picked up this book cause I read one of those compilation of short stories from a handful of different authors and Carr was one of them and I enjoyed her short story. After this book and enjoying her sense of humor and writing style, I am looking into picking up the rest of her books.
This book has a lot of potential to be good (with the funny sexy plot) but the writing ruined it. Ill definetly go with Jennifer Cruise if I ever want to read contemporary romance again. And I dont know why my friend gave me this book as a birthday present. She definitely didnt know whats a YA romance book is.
Stephanie visited a small town called Mayfield to get her business partner to come back to LA. In doing so she falls for the Sheriff Jack and is stuck there while the place is almost flooded. Stephanie remembers about the camaraderie that comes with a small town so when she is able to go back to LA without Jack, she no longer loves LA. Cute book
The constant dialogue about Stephanie's career dreams and trying to get Venus back to LA was tiring and repetitive. It's an okay read but the story could've been better.
This was a cute, silly, easy to read, sexy book that's a perfect summer read. This is the second book I've read in the "Wicked" Woman series and it did not disappoint. Though this book did not have many steamy sex scenes as the other books, the ones that were there were worth it (oh the jail scene...).
Stephanie and Jack were hot together. They both want different things in life but their attraction for each other will make them compromise things to be together. I enjoyed how good girl Stephanie turned her "wicked" side on to torture Jack. I especially enjoyed how Jack didn't give a damn what the town thought of him being around Stephanie.
Overall, this was a great yet fast read. I liked the idea that there weren't too many sex scenes but the ones that were there did not make me regret reading them.
This just didn't do it for me, it had some ok moments. I skimmed through most of the book just so I can get started on my next one. The best part of the book were the sex scene's. So for that it gets 2.5 stars;)
I gave this 2 stars because I had to finish it. Seriously. I will no longer buy a book until I have made a background check on it (such as checking it out on goodreads). I can't believe I own this book. Ugh.
