Here is a book, which embraces the entire population of our country irrespective of their caste religion, sex, and age. Automobiles and its developments had changed our way of life beyond our wildest dreams. It also brought us a number of serious problems like accidents, pollution, congestion etc.
In 2017, India lost 4.07 Lakhs Crores. Because of accidents and congestion, pollution was the cause of death of 12.4 Lakh of people. The appalling human misery and economic losses by automobiles demand immediately implementable solutions. Many books have been written about this but; you will find this book is special and unique in many respects.
In short ‘THIS IS AN ACTION BOOK’ however even small action will have an impact on society now and in future. Its main theme is ‘YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN AND SHOULD ENSURE YOUR OWN SAFETY.’

This book is a complete package of information. I am impressed with the way the author S Subramanian has expressed his thoughts, views, and real-life incidents through several stories.
When I picked the Drive Safe Be Safe book, I was not aware of the thing that it would be so informative. I picked this because when I saw the cover, I found it interesting. It gave me a good vibe.
But the real magic happened when I turned the pages of the book. It contains all the things which a person needs as a driver of the vehicle.
The information regarding various things was given like rear mirrors, reasons behind the accidents, how to maintain a vehicle, various engines and parts of the vehicle.
The thing which I loved the most is that the author has also given the qualities of a person as a driver based on the sun signs. Sun signs are the things about which I like to read a lot! It may be true in some cases or maybe not! But as far as I think the author has researched well about the topic. So, this would be true.
Other things that I loved are the exercises which one can do while in a traffic jam.
Information about illegal and legal parking is also given. The things which a person should know while driving in the night is also shared well in the book.
There are details and tips for maintaining every part of a vehicle like an engine, coolant level, filters, exhaust system, engine mounts, clutch, etc. All parts are explained with well explanatory diagrams.
Also, the problem of pollution is explained with quite good research.
You also get to learn the things to do in case of emergencies like skidding, driving in fog, brake failure, tyre blow out, steering failure, headlight failure, blocked vision and so many.
There are also some tips to follow while choosing a vehicle. I completely agree with the author that there are 2 categories of people- one who needs and others who want.
Also, the things which we don’t often think about such as insurance, resale value, depreciation and other concepts are also given in detail.
Drive Safe Be Safe is a must-read book for everyone because we all are driving or plan to drive some vehicle. The stories in the book are meant for driving required actions. For our safety while driving, we are the only ones responsible for it. It is a universal collection of stories that transcends all age, sex, and religions.
