Locking Her Down
Did I break into an animal shelter? Yes. Should it be a crime? Absolutely not. After all, I’m just trying to save these darling kittens from being sent to a lab for experiments. They deserve a loving home, and I intend to give them one. Well, that was the plan, but then I ran into some complications. Several of them. And they all have badges, guns, and handcuffs. I’m going to start off by saying that I didn’t appreciate the H’s manipulation that essentially brought the h closer to him. That is why I rated this 3 stars. On the other hand, the book was so sweet and romantic that I was stuck being annoyed that I was being swayed by the characters — by Benny — essentially by MINK.
Benny aka Mr. Chase is Penny’s dad’s lawyer. She’s always had the hots for him and it pretty much goes both ways.
She’s described by the male figures as being book smart but “ditzy” and “quirky in a ridiculously adorable way”. To me, she’s sometimes an immature idiot, but I’m probably being too hard on her.
Her friend Polly tries to get her to see the situation she’s in — Benny planned out for her to get arrested and later influenced the judge to give her house arrest with him — with open eyes but she’s in denial and when her father says the same thing, she’s all ‘it’s okay — I love him too much’ (not an actual quote, I’m paraphrasing).
And that’s the thing, by the end of the book, I don’t blame homegirl for not caring that she’s been manipulated into being on house arrest. I, too, admit I’ve been charmed by Benny.
The smut is good. The instalove is there. And overall it was a sweet book. It was just that part of the plot that really bothered me because earlier this week I read this woman’s story on Reddit about how she was manipulated into falling in love and eventually marrying her husband. She only found out because he admitted it after he got super drunk with his brother, who was celebrating becoming engaged to a woman he also manipulated. So the reality of how this can actually indeed happen in real life struck the nerve, lol.

Got this baby as an ARC..
Cat burglar or is she? Lol this was a fun novella but I did have some issues with few things, it did bug me but it was still a fun story.

Benton didn't manipulated mostly everything, he was the one who called in the "anonymous" tip to get her arrested to need him, he paid the cops to keep her safe and out of jail, & he made sure the owner of the shelter made the judge put a device on her to keep her on house arrest in his place. Like that was EXTREME to me, heck when Penelope found out she didn't get mad I wanted alittle anger from her side cuz not everyone was in Benton pocket.. Penelope just loved every second and making him fall for her.. when he was already in love.

After that fragment, I was gone... It could be the fact I was drinking some malibu, vodka and orange juice, or it could be because this novella was perfection!
I usually don't give shorter books 5 stars but this deserves even more. I loved every single aspect of the plot, starting from the cutest breaking and entering, through my favourite quirky heroine and finishing with the name Benton. Benton. Benton. Like my heart, this name goes bom-bom, bom-bom.
I'm addicted to Mink and count the days to her new release. You better don't stop writing!

She’s the only dream I’ve ever had
So, this was a good read. I'm not sure why..but I didn't love it. Smexy times didn't happen until 72% ish and it lasted maybe 3 pages. That's only after the h threw herself at the H and he finally gave in (after her several failed attempts). He wanted her but held back a little too much for me. Still, it was a good read and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

This was a fun story to read. Loved Penny and her love for cats which I understand as I look around all my lovely cats. Each book that I read from her has me falling in love with her work more and more. Loved Benton and Penny together. They have been in love with each other for so long but because of her father, they couldn’t act on it. Benny devised a plan to make her his. Loved this story and the side characters. I hope that Polly gets a story, loved her.

Después de todo, sólo intento salvar a estos adorables gatitos de ser enviados a un laboratorio para experimentos. Se merecen un hogar cariñoso, y tengo la intención de darles uno.
Bueno, ese era el plan, pero luego me encuentro con algunas complicaciones. Varias de ellas. Y tienen placas, armas y esposas. Así que voy a la cárcel, pero hago mi única llamada al único hombre que puede ayudarme. Benton. Sólo
espero que no le diga a mi padre lo que he estado haciendo.
Penelope está en problemas y yo soy el único que puede ayudarla. Llego a la cárcel casi antes que ella y la salvo de una noche en la celda de los borrachos. Pero una vez que la llevo a mi casa, me cuesta dejarla ir. Después de todo, ha estado en mi mente desde el primer momento en que la conocí. Este es otro libro que me costó terminar de MINK.
La historia realmente no me enganchó, no había mucho sucediendo y lo poco que sucedía no me interesaba tanto. Me encantan los gatos pero se gastó el tema en este libro.
¿Quién irrumpe en un refugio para rescatar gatos con un gorro rosa en la cabeza? Pues Penny! Están bien para mi las heroínas extravagantes e inocentes, me divierten pero esta era demasiado inmadura, era una chica a punto de terminar la universidad pero actuaba como una adolescente loca y tonta.
Benton estuvo bien, era el típico héroe que trae MINK, ellos hacen lo que sea para tener a sus mujeres. No sé que pensar que él encubriera los crimenes del padre de ella.
La química entre los protagonistas no la vi, las escenas de sexo estuvieron ahí pero me resultaron aburridas. Al final no logré ver algo más profundo en la pareja que me emocionara.

This was a pretty good story. Benton has been obsessed with one of his client’s daughters. He has secretly inserted himself into her life. I thought he was a little obsessive, he manipulated Penelope’s life a little much for my liking. He was a little too obsessed. I really liked Penelope. She was smart and quirky, she knew she was different and embraced it. I love how she wanted to save the kittens, I am 100% a cat person. I have eight cats lol! Penelope handled Benton’s obsession a little too well and she didn’t let her father push her around. I would have been at least a little ticked at all the manipulation going on. She knew who and what she wanted and wasn’t going to let her father stand in her way.

Again MINK delivers in a read that had me on the floor!!! I can totally relate to our leading lady, her heart is huge and I can understand what she was attempting to do. I’d be tempted myself.
Benton, older and the family lawyer he’s been in love with Penelope since he first saw her. He’s been making plans quietly in the background to make her his.
It had laughter, steam and an engaging cast of characters that I loved. I also liked the message I took from within. Adopt a pet from the shelter, save a life.

Penny is a little naive when it comes to the ways of the world, but she knows she wants to rescue the kitties before they are sent off to become test subjects. Benton has loved Penny from the moment he laid eyes on her at her father's house. He is always three steps ahead and plans on claiming Penny as his even if he kind of helped put her in the situation she finds herself in. This is a funny, sweet, sexy story and I highly recommend it!

We should all want a Penny in our lives. Penny is so sweet and giving and Benton wants her. Benton does go way overboard to make sure everything goes the way he wants. So funny with Penny and her confusing sayings. Penny and Benton will melt your heart and make you laugh out loud.

I really liked Penny and Benton. What’s with the hate on dog lovers mink? I was really thrown off when the gun went off and it just faded to black and you find out a few pages later what happened.

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Benton is the family lawyer. He has wanted Penelope for a while. So much so that he has been secretly putting plans into place to make Penelope his woman.
The chemistry between Penelope Jane and Benton is clear to see and I loved them together. I thought that they were perfect for one another.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

Another fantastic read by the most amazing author, Mink! Penelope and her mixing up of idioms, her opinions and viewpoints are hilarious. Benton's hidden obsession with her and her determination to get him to fall in love with her was so adorable, I just couldn't put it down. I loved Penelope's passion and Benton's machinations. It all blended together to create a recipe for a fantastic sexy romance. Cannot wait for more Mink books!

I loved Penny and Benton!! Their story was so much fun to read. I love how she’s a little bit lost without him and how he will do absolutely anything to have her at his side. She’s a little kookie and a while lot of adorable while Benny is all alpha male. I really hope Polly gets her own story next!

So adorable and funny that I wanted to read it again as soon as I finished. And I imagined a TV romcom based on this would be hilarious and just too yummy to resist.
I love cats and the heroine in this novella is ready to cross to the side of crime to liberate some poor kittens from a fate worse than death: science experiments.
The whole mission is riddled with cute silliness, two sweet girls impersonating criminals like fluffy versions of spy agents, and a devious lawyer with Machiavelian plans to claim his smart yet quirky dream girl. He sets about to secure her as his like a general conquering an empire. It is too much 😂 The funniest thing is tha it is she who thinks she has the upper hand, and that double game was so entertaining.

I really liked this story. It was very entertaining and enjoyable. I did a lot of laughing. The characters were interesting and awesome. Polly was an awesome friend and she cracked me up too!

Benton was so sneaky when he was trying to get Penelope where he wanted her. I would have been super annoyed with him but Penelope was very forgiving. He did an awesome job of making it up to her and that was super sweet. I loved their happy ever after and I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it! The narrators for the book are awesome and made the funny parts of the story even better.

I really liked this story. It was very entertaining and enjoyable. I did a lot of laughing. The characters were interesting and awesome. Polly was an awesome friend and she cracked me up too!
