A darkly funny journey through one woman's affair with a married man - a story of petty revenge, ruined reputations, vandalism and rodent murder. Whose side will you be on? How can you hate someone you’ve never even met? I could – Vicki makes it so easy…… Reeling from a marriage breakup she never saw coming, Katie is trying to get some stability back in her life. She has her job, her friends, her own little home – the last thing she needs is to jump straight into another relationship, right? Dave has other ideas. Swept off her feet with romantic words, over-the-top presents and grand gestures of love, Katie is completely caught up in their whirlwind affair. She doesn’t even mind that Dave has a wife. She knows poor Dave is stuck in a loveless marriage with the obnoxious Vicki - a vain, self-obsessed social media princess – he’s told her all about it. He’s only staying in the marriage for the sake of his young son, honestly. They never sleep together – and that’s the truth. It’s Katie he loves, he swears it. He’ll leave Vicki as soon as Josh is old enough and then he and Katie can be together properly, he promises. But when Dave is forced to make a choice, he doesn’t choose Katie. A scorned woman once again, Katie becomes addicted to following Vicki’s every move online, despising her more and more with every new bragging post, every unnecessary hashtag and every ridiculous pouting selfie. Vicki’s whole life is up there for everyone to see – where she shops, where she gets her hair cut, where her son goes to school. There’s a wealth of information readily available for anyone who might want to do her harm. Really, it’s her own stupid fault if someone decides they want to get even, isn’t it?

T M Creedy has written three books to date, with another one on the way, and yet another desperately trying to batter its way out of her head and into book form.

She has lived previous career lives as a veterinary nurse, florist, charity shop manager and, most recently, Human Resources Officer - where she thought daily about self-harming with the office stapler, just to relieve the boredom. It was her first novel #Blessed that sparked her career as a writer, and now the ideas just won't leave her alone....

Born and raised in New Zealand, she now lives on the channel island of Jersey with her foster guinea pigs - Traumatised Neil & Dilly-Roo; a secret cupboard full of rich tea biscuits and her guilty conscience.

I could have read this faster but I loved it so much I wanted to savour the last 20%! Just wow! It starts off really relatable and that helps to really embed you into Katie’s story and you can see and to an extent understand how things take a turn and how actions of others and yourself end up impacting your life on many levels and particularly mentally, forcing you into a dark place and making extreme decisions. I particularly loved that even though this was very dark in places there were glimmers of goodness in it. It reminded me that the number of good people in the world out weighs the number of bad. Highly recommend!

So many twists and turns! I could not have predicted the way things unfolded in this refreshing debut novel from Creedy. A gripping read with believable characters and good plot development.
I am going to be so careful about who I speak to in bookstores!

This was another great read by the brilliant T M Creedy. Although it is very different from her other two, being a comedy drama and not a ghost story, it explores the dark side of people's true colours when let down by a lover. And it is VERY dark!! Katie has an affair with a married man, which was always going to end badly, but it's a shock to read how badly! I loved how we don't hear from Dave until the relationship goes wrong and then we see his true colours too. The wife sounds just awful... Nicely done with great writing and character development, #Blessed will make you think twice about how much personal detail you are revealing on your social media to strangers.
