Badass Laney is my favorite. But the relationship with her and Celeste gets built upon even more in this book. That was my favorite thing about book 3 Masquerade. But this builds it up even more as we meet other survivors who make history lessons important.

We see enslavement and more. Laney battles a fight she never could've imagined. Then you add the growing family with Misty who is such a good mix of both her mom's that you adore her just like the last book. Ingr and the whole family. It's awesome!

Another winner

Erik Schubach has another winner in this 4th book of the Techromany Series. Picking up where from the end of book 3 Masquerade, so many of the characters I love from all three books were here. Erik continues to throw technology developments and character growth in with a few plot twists and a couple of new characters and you have the making of a great book. Please tell me how soon you can make this an audio book!

Awesome!

A beautiful story of love, adventure, loss and innocence. Excitement, laughter and tears from the very first page to the very last. A gripping story that dragged you along once again bringing favorite characters to life.

I'm not going to pretend I did not roll a tear or two with this one. The realization of what we are capable of doing in the name of self preservation is astounding to me. Sometime, when reading books like this, it reminds me of just how insignificant we are and that we are the only ones that bring our own demise.

Love the new addition to the ever growing family and what can I say about Dru, I'm so happy for them all and heart broken with Great Mother Rain, but I trust that the author will give her due respect and love down the line.

Looking forward to Misty and Ingr :-)

Another wonderful addition

Erik has added another wonderful addition to the techromancy universe as well as another addition to Laney and Celeste's growing family. This series is near and dear to my heart as its one of the first lesbian fiction books I found and lead to my finally finding fiction that I can connect with on that deepest level. This book will not disappoint those of you who have followed the series.

I read the first three books a few months ago, but just to get back into the flow, I reread them-along with the fourth. I really enjoyed it. There is enough action to keep me on the edge as well as a definite well thought of, unique premise. I was imagining what things may be like on earth 3000 years after a catastrophic event. The author definitely turned the typical sci-fi novel on its head in this series. Normally, most science fiction books take place in a futuristic setting, but this one, while definitely set in the future has a very steam punk feel to it. I’d definitely like to know in which direction the author will go with the next book. There are many options here.It makes it a lot less predictable, and I like that.

The continued saga of Laney Herder extends now into the place called the Westlands. When one of the Cristea, a band of Gypsies thought lost long ago, manages to make it to them with the message of help, there is no question as to who will help them out. Facing a new threat that uses weapons and not magics to fight, they come upon a foe that seems to have no honor or conscience. Trying to understand these new threats is taxing and the vision of her own death has Laney jarred and facing her own end with head held high. Will it come to pass? Who are these Avalonians and why there conquest of the lands? So many questions and continued losses bring this chapter of the saga to new lands with new challenges.

I really enjoyed this story, it’s a fascinating blend of fantasy and science fiction with added dash of romance. I could have given it five stars, but there was one aspect that was quite frustrating. I really liked Lancey right from the start of the first book, but I’m beginning to find her a tiny bit nauseating.

I felt the author was trying too hard to show how Laney was so ‘homely’ and caring. This was exacerbated by her ‘guilt’ trips and self-sacrificing urges. It’s probably just me as I tend to like my heroines to be more forceful and 'in your face'.

Great book

I really love this series because of just how well done the fantasy magic aspect was done. I truly can't wait for the next book.

Amazing yet again

One of my favorite series. This book does not disappoint when it comes to surprises and falling in love with the characters all over again. Laney and Celeste are fantastic and their adventures make my day.

A little more action than cuteness
still quite a lot of cuteness. Except for the over indulgent parenting that allows children to flout the most cursory discipline or even self preservation with out any consequences, that wasn't cute.

Still met repetitions but thanks to taking a break reading the series, I could bear them. Asides that the series takes on another adventure where our diminutive heroine scares us and we are made to realise that life is not all conquering without losing.

ended great

This book is slower then the others and seems a bit too simple a story. But if you can get through all that then the author hits his stride and ends with a powerful battle and a very emotional ending. Worth it if you can get through the first 2/3s.

I have been patiently waiting for this book to come out on Audible. Hollie Jackson of course did an amazing job with the narration. Great addition to the series. Action packed with lots of humor and a bit of sadness. I will be waiting for the next part to come out on Audible. There were hints as to what will be happening in the next installment and I am looking forward to the confrontation.

Merged review:

Read via Audible: For as many times as I have read this, I forgot to add a review. The platypus of shame is shaking it's cute head at me... This is an action packed adventure in the life and time of an ill fated chicken herder in the times after the destruction of the modern word. Her and her family must save a lost portion of her new found people from the threat of the great wizards of the before.
