It shows you how to doodle anywhere--at home, in the office and on the go--on loose scraps of paper or in a notebook. Learn to use your decorative doodles to dress up and enliven things you use everyday--from letters, gift cards and invitations to journals, appointment books, household labels, business cards and scrapbooks.
Doodles are useful and fun--and their applications are endless!
This is a master book in "kawaii" (cute) doodling. It provides many different ideas of objects to doodle, different places to doodle on, and even ideas for gifts or stationary designs that you make yourself. The cutesy style lends itself well to working with children, but this book is actually a pretty great start to drawing representational art for any age. It provides ways to vary your drawings, good warm-up practices for any person who wants to sketch, and even some advice when you think you've "messed up" a drawing. 100% recommended.
This book is adorable and I love it so much. I want to practice basic drawing like lines and this book has great basic exercises and ways to make it fun and cute. It's the first book I've seen that really blends the drawing (cute doodles) well with the instructions (it is basically like a cartoon or comic). Moreso than Robert Lambry's Draw Anything even.
Kamo is very talented. I am a wannabe doodler. With Kamo's guidance in this book, I can create very believable doodles to decorate my life. I love doodles, I like to add them to handwritten letters, to brighten someone's day; scribble in a journal, adding them to brighten my day, possibly bringing a smile to one of my future ancestor's faces, as they read my journals. It helps to put more of ME into my writings.
Kamo is Japanese and has a small section dedicated to drawing traditional Japanese clothing, hairstyles, and foods. I like everything about the book, it shows you step by step, how to make the more difficult doodles, but you will have a lot of fun with this book. Kamo recommends using a ballpoint pen, that's all, so whatever your choice for drawing with, what are you waiting for, jump right in and get started! There is instruction on coloring in your doodles, with colors or designs, using these instructions, your doodles can literally POP off the page, they look so wonderful.
Much gratitude to #tuttlepublishingservices @tuttle #tuttle #kamo @kamo and #edelweissplus for the complimentary copy of #howtodoodleeverywhere. I was under no obligation to post a review.
I appreciate this book's layout; it strikes a balance between aesthetics and simplicity, creating an inviting and cute design. This unique presentation inspired me to restart my doodle journaling. Unlike many drawing books that can be overwhelming, this one stands out as a non-judgmental guide. It gently eases perpetual beginners like me into the world of drawing, making the creative process enjoyable and approachable. I will refer to this book many times more. Im looking forward to filling up my journal for 2024!
Super cute! It's pretty spare on instructions, so it might be better for inspiration rather than a strict "how-to" book. The instructions for the people are... *sigh* They're problematic, and it really takes down the whole book. Girls and women should be "slender" and the vast majority are wear skirts or dresses. Boys and men get a similarly stereotypical treatment. You can, of course, toss this out the window and adapt the styles to suit yourself!
I read kindle books on my iphone. For this book, the pictures are essential but when I try to enlarge them so I can see them better, they are blurry. I’m very disappointed.
Wanted to review this for a long time. A truly beautiful book which made me rekindle my passion for sketching. Has precise, easy to follow instructions. Would be a treat for kindergarten teachers or anyone who would like to draw something cute just for the sake of it.
