Addiction: Webster's dictionary describes it as a compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (such as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal. There's only one problem: sometimes your addiction isn't something tangible that you can simply toss away. Sometimes it's a habit that you've grown used to in order to hide the darker side of yourself. Even if it's from your yourself.
Impulse is an erotic romance that deals with sex addiction and finding love.
Constance had a haunting, horrible past. Aiden has had everything handed to him on a silver platter. While the two couldn't be more different, it is sometimes that which makes the perfect pairing. "Try a bite," he said and brought his fork up to Constance's mouth. She went to protest but when her mouth opened, the fork slipped between her lips. Pure chocolate bliss filled her mouth and she couldn't hold back a soft moan, much to her embarrassment. "Delicious," she simply said after she swallowed. "Want to try some of mine?" After all, it was only fair. "Of course," Aiden said. Wasting not a moment, he grabbed the wrist that held a small forkful of her dessert. He brought it up to his mouth, her arm with it, and took a bite from her spoon. He swallowed the spoonful, and Constance felt a soft vibration in her hand. Had he moaned as well? She blamed the feeling on the thrumming in her veins and the way her heart was trying to leap from her chest and through her rib cage. "Stunning," Aiden said lowly. It was an odd statement to make about a dessert, Constance thought. Of course, Aiden wasn't speaking about the dessert
R.K. Knightly is a pen name for a civil servant based in the San Francisco-Bay area. Born in New Jersey, she moved to California in 2007 with her husband, a San Francisco native. First interested in poetry from a young age, she wrote her first short story in second grade. It was a little mystery/thriller she drew the pictures for. Her teacher, Mrs. Michaels, told her mother that she should think about writing as a career, though she should probably look into hiring an illustrator for the art work. Ms. Knightly took journalism classes throughout high school and creative writing courses in college. A lover of all genres of books from autobiographies to sci-fi, Ms. Knightly started writing erotic romance in early 2018. After a few months and two books, she came up with an idea for an erotic supernatural romance which has become popular on the Dreame app. Now she splits her time between the two genres, though her most popular works on Dreame are her supernatural novels. In her spare time outside of writing, Ms. Knightly spends times with her fabulous extended family.
I really don't know what to think of this book... it's sometimes so crude that borderlines cruel... And at the same time, the pain is everywhere. It had lots and lots of sex, steamy per se, but the duel character within Constance made me think. The only thing that made me pause was the way Aiden "bought" the doctor. A woman in that position certainly saw many things, including abusive ex-boyfriends that tried to worm their ways into the victim's lives, and yet, she helped him. Either she is extremely insightful or just incompetent... What if he was a stalker of some kind? Of course she already knew him from her sessions with Constance. And knowing the kind of men she had met in her past, the abuse and rape she suffered at the hands of her family, one would think the doctor would be more cautious. Of course, she could be just a sucker for happy endings. All in all, I did enjoy the reading. I already knew this author from Dreame and knew I had to buy this book. Don't know if I'll read the next ones, maybe, but all in all, a good reading, with tears, laughter and lots of questionable behaviors.
Another great book, highly suggest any of the stories that RKK publishes. The story lines always hold me and I usually binge read the book until I finish it all!
The story line is amazing. How a broken girl like Constance took refuge in Aiden and how they found love in the end. They both helped each other overcome their demons and make the best of every situation. This is seriously one of the best stories I have ever read.
