Jenna
I wasn't looking for a hero when I literally bumped into one.
All I had on my mind was getting away from my abusive ex-boyfriend.
I was almost out of money and ideas when I met Tyler and his son.
I knew I should thank my lucky stars and take the help he offered.
But could I let go of my fear of men and trust the handsome single dad?

Tyler
Noah and I weren't looking for anything other than groceries that fateful day.
It had been just me and my little buddy against the world for the last three years.
And I thought we were happy...until I ran into a woman with sad eyes and killer curves.
Just being around Jenna made me realize I'd been asleep ever since Noah's mom left us.
But could I let the walls around my heart down and give her the chance to wake me up again?

Shopping cart accident leads to so much more

Taking a Chance is a very sweet second chance at love romance. The story is about Jenna and Tyler. She is a 25 year old woman in a dead end life but trying to make some thing more for her future by attending the local community college. However, she lives with her "tick" boyfriend, as in he just keeps sucking her dry, while she works to support both of them as he is abusive and controlling with her. One day she just has too much and decides to drive as far away to start over. She ends up a couple of states over and after a few days runs into Tyler. Well actually their shopping carts run into each other in the parking lot of the grocery store.
Tyler is a single dad to adorable but precocious six year old Noah. This boy is smart and gives his dad a run for it to say the least. Tyler owns and runs a construction company that he took over from his retired father. Four years ago Noah's mother snuck out on them both in the middle of the night never to be heard from again. So now he just has a few one night stands when he needs to scratch the itch but otherwise live revolves around Noah and work.
But once Jenna and Tyler make contact there are some definite reverberations between then and then add Noah into the mix and things take a real quick turn. Before they know it Tyler has offered Jenna a job in his office and to help with Noah to some money and a place to stay, in his house I might add. But all will not quite go so smoothly for these two. It seems there are other forces at work which include her GPS tracking boyfriend that does not want to give up his meal ticket quite yet. Will Tyler be willing to fight for Jenna and realize they are right for each other before it is too late? Let's hope so as Noah already told all his friends at school that he has a new Mommy!!!

I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the instant love story between Tyler and Jenna. Tyler was a single father to 6 year old Noah and owned his own construction company. Jenna was a college student, but she recently left after escaping an abusive relationship after leaving school one day and just driving away, leaving everything behind. Tyler was at the grocery store when he saw Jenna and was attracted to her, but he wasn't interested in dating, so he walked away. Out in the parking lot, Tyler accidentally hit Jenna with his cart and when he apologized, she started to panic and cry. Tyler talked her down and wanted to make sure she was okay. Tyler eventually asked Jenna her story and when she told him she was living at a motel and escaped from her ex, Noah wanted her to come home with them. Tyler offered Jenna a job working for him and told her to join them for supper and to talk. Jenna agreed to go to Tyler's house and something told her she could trust him. When they talked and got to know one another more, they both realized they had a connection and soon their feelings took over. But danger was still lurking threatening Jenna being safe and happy with Tyler and Noah. I liked this story, i loved the instant trust between Tyler and Jenna and i think Noah loved Jenna at first sight also. Tyler and Jenna seemed meant to be and i love how they both felt it. Good one.

I liked this book. It does have some references to domestic violence that was difficult for me. Tyler and Noah meet Jenna. Tyler and Jenna feel an instant connection although they both fight it a little due to their past experiences. Tyler, Noah and Jenna were great characters. Noah was super sweet and made me want to give him a hug. Really loved the happy ever after. Definitely recommend. Must read!
