In the beginning, an Incubus was merely a low-ranking demon who fed on the sexual terror he could inflict upon a human being. But that was before one of them got the idea to turn a human with nothing to lose into the perfect demon feeder.
But everything created will also evolve, and the creating demon never expected his plan to turn out quite like this.
One good thing came out of the police sniffing around for a missing person. Mason found his apprentice. But they’re far from out of the woods, yet, and Mason has to balance that and finding common grounds with a young man who struggles as much as Mason did, just differently.
Meraki P. Dark is, as the last name suggests, the dark side of Meraki P. Lyhne.
Where Meraki P. Lyhne will play with anything from fluffy slow-burns with HEA and go to the border of dub-con, letting his characters deliver a striped ass, Meraki P. Dark will explore the depraved minds during non-con, and he’ll play with whatever fetish catches his attention.
It is the human psyche and its abilities to stretch or break that will be explored to its fullest. There will always be a plot—no one is tortured unless the character finds a good reason for it within the plot. There is room for love and tender moments, too, but they have to work hard for it!
LOVE this series so much. Perfectly dark and depraved, just like I love my dark reads.
And while I love the series, I think this book was a bit lighter then the others. Mostly because it was in 2 POV - one was Mason and one was Heath (the Apprentice). Mason's side of the story I enjoyed, Heath's not so much. It was good, but Mason was so much better.
Ass mutt - ass puppy♥, it was so good to see him change. And how Mason changed with him too. It was lovely. As lovely as this kind of dark "romance" can be. The love story in every book are so good. Those are my favorite parts. When you think you can't find romance and love between these kind of story, but it's always there.
"Please, Master! Don't let them take ass mutt away! No one will ever stuff ass mutt's holes like Master. No one is as skilled at stuffing holes as Master is." Well, there was certainly a compliment or two in that sentence.
And I love the underlings too, and the mutts, especially the twins! The twin scenes are always the best. Loved all the blood and other bodily fluids. But I definitely missed one scene at the end with one of the twins. I wanted to see the special mutt.
I loved reading this book, it's always a pleasure to read this series and I always can't wait for the next one. This series is never disappoint and always brings the darkest scenes ever.
This book was given to me as an ARC, every opinion is my own.
400 years have passed since Kendrick's awakening, the world have changed during that time and he have had to adapt to a different hunting ground. With a playpen filled with mutts to enjoy, dark desires bloom with the introduction of his new apprentice. Blood, screams, adoration and mind fucks is the combination to expect when starting on the fourth book of the series. It was said to be one of the darkest but it didn't seem that way to me, though after the first three books I've grown accustomed to the depravities to expect and some honey always soothes the worst burns. There's characters I liked more than others, things i wanted more or less of. This seemed like an intermission between book three and five, a build up which I enjoyed, and I look forward to the next one.
This is a very dark series. It explores some serious kinks... But the main characters are entrancing. Mason at one point even mentions "I'm a necessary evil", and I totally agree with him!
I loved Mason (Kendrick), and here I got to meet Heath and a hole new set of underlings... It could have been confusing, buy the story is so well written that everyone fits right in!
I cannot wait to see what happens when Mason's underlings finally evolve!
I loved this book and especially how the characters and story are evolving. Plus, our core cast has now doubled and for the first time ever there are plans to keep humans for more than one cycle. I'm beyond excited to read the next one and see how things go. If you can handle or maybe even enjoy darkness and depravity then this entire series is an absolute must read.
