Nothing is ever as it seems. Especially when it comes to the gods.
It’s official: there’s something super messed up about this school.
And I want to know what it is.
A smarter, saner woman would keep her nose out of it, turn a blind eye, and just focus on enjoying the three insanely hot men who’ve agreed to share her.
Unfortunately, sanity isn’t really in my wheelhouse.
We barely escaped the last Gods’ Challenge with our lives, and not everyone who competed was so lucky. It’s dangerous as hell to go back, but I know that’s where the answers lie.
With my men by my side, we’ll risk the dangers of the gods’ realm again.
But this time... we won’t be playing by their rules.
Let the games begin.
This is the second book in the Magic Blessed Academy series, a university-age reverse harem paranormal romance. It contains cursing and sexual situations, and is intended for readers 18+.
Eva Ashwood has been a reader her whole life and a writer for several years. She loves telling stories of alpha males and the fierce women who bring them to their knees.
She's a sucker for reverse harem, bully romance, enemies to lovers, heroes who redeem themselves, and all the drama and passion of new adult love.
Book 2 of 3 in the Magic Blessed Academy got better. Aria and her guys, Lachlan, Merrick, and Trace, all agreed to go back into the God's Challenge again because at the end of the last one.. everything just didn't sit right with any of them. So they knew they needed to go in again and figure out why students were being killed off. And they did just that. Even with bumps in the road. The ending.. I literally said, "Holy shit!" I can't sit and not find out what happens next. I'm running to the next book!
I Give This Book a 4.5/5 Star Rating Listing as 4.
Cliffhanger(?): Absolutely! Going to Jumping into Book 3 Now! Romance: 4-4.5/5 Heat: 4.5/5 Drama: 4.5/5 Suspense: 4-4.5/5 Relationship Type: Reverse Harem > MFMM
Book Formats Read: Audiobook Audiobook Rating: 4.5/5 Compared to the first book with this Narrator, this one is MUCH better, Aria as a character was voiced with more emotion and I’m glad about that.
This was a really good book, going to reading book 3 after writing this review. There is a bit of repetitive-ness in regards to how Aria felt about Eden, even in Book 1. You really notice it when your listening to through an Audiobook.
The second installment to the Magic Blessed Academy series is rife with secrets and action. Aria and her men are on the hunt for the truth and will stop at nothing to find it. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting several of the twists that came about. Looking forward to the next installment.
It gets better, the making of the relationship and their bond growing is great to see, their fights, their make up, their emotions and acceptance of feelings, smutty hot, cosy and exciting. Just like the book.
It's not an easy read, it's full of high emotions and hard to process when you know which side it right, but knowing it will take time and more to get stronger and win.....I also wanna punch Wesley sooo hard! 4.5 stars
Okay, so before I get into anything else, can we just talk about that cliffhanger...
Because... WHAT?????
Talk about dropping a bomb and just walking away! I never even saw it coming, which is saying something. Totally just blown away by that revelation!
Okay, so back to the book, haha. I thought Secret of the Gods was a great second installment to this fun, paranormal academy story! It has such a fun, fast pace that really kept me engaged, but I never felt rushed. You really get a better feel for Ari and her men this time around and what kind of dynamic their relationship will have. Trace, Merrick, and Lachlan complement each other so wonderfully and together, all three of them complete Aria in a way she hadn’t ever imagined before.
Lots of new info gets brought to light in this book and I cannot wait to see how this one wraps up! The Gods are up to something, and the four of them are determined to figure out what’s going on. Add in one disgruntled classmate and another God’s Challenge, and you have lots of tension, action, and high stakes for our group! There’s plenty of steam involved too, don’t worry!
Genre/Tropes: Fantasy, RH, Academy POV: 1st, FMC Series: Magic Blessed Academy, Book 2 STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Heck yea! This picked up right where book 1 ended and we’re immediately bombarded with tons of questions and very little answers. Aria and her three men, Merrick, Trace, and Lachlan train hard, develop their bonds, and focus on getting back into the God Challenge to seek the answers they’re looking for. SO MANY things happen in this book it’s insane. There’s quite a few time jumps but they work.
I love the world and the setting. Complete fantasy with twists and turns. And the steam picked up tenfold in this book including the ever awaited GROUP bow chicka bow wow that was 🥵🥵. I LOVE how powerful all the guys are but even more so how Ari is and that they’re always awed by her. She’s humble and confident but she doesn’t show it much. Love her fierceness and maturity as a FMC!!
And then that cliffhanger? 😳 Kinda saw it coming but it didn’t reduce the excitement of it in the least. And now I must immediately dive into the final book.
Overall Rating ★★★★ Plot ★★★★ Humor ★★★★ Characters & Character Development ★★★★ Narration ★★★★★
Characters: Aria Lachlan Trace Merrick
Story: All the characters grew on me more in this book. I loved how they really came together to figure out what was going on. The end of the book was such a shock and they found out so much throughout their journey. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Narration: Stacey Glemboski is amazing and I can't wait to see what series she narrates next.
Good god I didn't think this series could get any better than it already is but book 2 just took it up another level. It's absolutely jam packed with action, plot twists, a few laughs and some sex which all goes together to make for a damn fantastic read. Oh and don't forget a blindingly good cliffhanger ending. Can't wait to find out what will happen next?? On tenterhooks for book 3
I thought Eva ramped up the tension, steam, and action in book 2 of her Magic Blessed Academy series. I really enjoyed seeing the relationships develop between the MC and the men (they were tender, but scorching!!). the storyline ramps up in this one, with the crew returning to the Gods Challenge to see what is going on with students not making it back. I was happy the academy part was not emphasized here and I can't wait until karma hits Wesley because he is horrible haha. I thought it was interesting to see the 2 different Gods and get a taste of what the students would be up against. The reveal at the end was a nice touch. Some of the story reminded me of the Hunger Games with the video feeds and stuff haha. I think this one was my favorite of the 3 to be honest. Would definite recommend this series (especially to those who like academy and the supernatural aspect)!
Narration was good again. Didn't crack my automatic purchase list, but I thought Stacy did a good job and I will definitely listen to her again in the future. I think some of the inflections weren't 100% for me this time, which is why I couldn't give her 5 stars. Its more like a 4-4.5 stars.
I enjoyed this book. There was quite a few steamy and spicy chapters. Of course, it followed the lead of the first book, and was written in her point of view (Aria). They decided to enter the next gods challenge to figure out what the purpose of the trials are, why the senseless killing and murder. Aria seems to overhear a lot, and has no issues with taking point when she’s got a goal in mind. The guys all rally behind her, and head off the challenge area to see if they can find out information. There isn’t much that they learn, and when they are brought back to the academy because weasely Westly found the gem, Aria is back in her head again but she didn’t shut the guys out. Her fav teacher gave her a weird warning and she takes it to heart, noticing how off the teachers are trying to teach. There’s definetly a mystery going on and Eva writes it so flawlessly that it’s easy to imagine I’m the female lead character. Aria behind more open and honest really matured her, and we got to learn more about the guys back story. I hope Ryker turns out to be an ally, rather than an enemy.
Action packed series! Aria is a strong and resilient character and her men are just as amazing.
In the fist book you get a feel for the world this is based in. The author does an amazing job of setting it up so you can really imagine where the story is taking place. I love that the main characters start to question why things are the way they are. And it is organic in the way is happen, it does not feel forced.
In the 2nd installment they really start to dive deep and look for the answers to their questions. Aria's powers are developing and so are her relationships. You really feel the bond growing not just romantically but in friendship and trust too.
In the 3rd installment of the series the Gods have decided to punish those who question them...or at least some of the gods do. The gods do not succeed and the action packed book does not disappoint at all. I loved how detailed everything was. It could be easily imagine everything going on. Very well written and highly recommended.
Same review for all three books. I like Eva Ashwood a lot and this series was good. Parts of it were a 5 star, parts were a 3 star. I’m a little disappointed because I can see the potential that this series could have achieved and been absolutely incredible, but it didn’t get to that level. It’s only disappointing because I know Eva could do it! A lot of the scenes had little detail and more of a summary of the event, where if Eva had detailed the event then it could have added a richness to the story which just wasn’t there in some spots. I do recommend this book and loved it, it’s just a little disappointing because it didn’t reach its full potential.
In this second book of the series the action, suspense, mystery and steam and fighting gets turned up. The relationship between Aria and the guys really start to develope and boy when it does it gets hot! Aria and her guys are back in the God's Challenge again and the stakes are much higher and more dangerous for them. There is literally a battle of life or death and the tension will have you holding your breathe to see what happens next. There are some questions answered in this book but also some new information brought to light as well. The ending of book two will have you picking your jaw up off the floor! I didn't see it coming! Great book. I recommend you check it out!
First time NOT liking something from Eva Ashwood, so I’m disappointed. The premise sounded exciting, but the writing felt like it was an outline of a story instead of the world-building stories I’ve come to know, whether it’s mafia or school-related.
The writing was very “tell” instead of “show”, glossing over everything that could have made this book great. Ari could have been a great character, but she had no believable development. So not spicy either.
OMG, this book was so amazing! I was hooked from the first page, the intensity between Aria and her men was breath taking, when Merrick, Trace and Loch banded together to protect Aria was touching, and when they were willing to go to the God realm for her I just melted! The action in this book was non stop and so exciting, I was disappointed when I reached the end, especially when it enede on a cliff hanger! How long do I have to wait for answers?!
The second book in this series revealed far more answers to the questions in this story and more of the secrets surrounding the mysteries came to light. It was another action packed book with characters that you can’t help but love and a story that is an addictive page turner. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series and I would recommend giving this book a read.
So I'm giving this book 3 & 1/2 stars. The relationship is a weird insta-love that I dont really get after the "bullying" (that we never got to see. We were told.. they bullied her. Wow, cool... and now, they're in love. The mystery and world building are interesting and the sexy times are hot, so I will read the next book. I want answers!
Good continuation of the series. This one was slower than the first one for me, but the last two chapters...OMG! That pretty much guarantees I'm going to read the next book because I gotta know what happens next after that big reveal! It's also great if you want some steamy fun.
5/5 stars for the narration. She does an incredible job with the different character voices.
This one felt a bit more descriptive than the first book and felt like it was a bit more slower paced to read. It is interesting where the story is heading to though. A bit different in that aspect from all the other academy books I’ve read so far.
This is literally 80% the same as book one, only a little further along in the story and a complete waste of my time. I still like the characters but I don’t know where she was trying to go with the storyline because god I am just boredddd 🙄
I love reading sassy characters with a bit of an attitude, but having a FMC as the group alpha makes me an ecstatic eager reader. Throw in mayhem, mischief and men and I’m in reading heaven.
Oh my, this series just got so much better! I didn’t think it could but Eva proved me wrong. Absolutely brilliant storyline, good hot characters and the narration is perfect. #audiobookobsessionreviewer
Didn’t see that ending coming. What a twist of events that was now I have to wait patiently for the next book. There is certainly more steamy scenes in this book as the group dynamic heats up. Teachers seem to be divided over the trials. Overall I’m enjoying this series.
this book was a roller-coaster. Aria and her guys went into the gods challenge for a second time and things really got crazy! I enjoyed the ending of this book and how the narrator brought each character to life.
It dragged in parts, with a similar plot line to the first book and only a few frustrating snippets of info till the end I think I’ll give the series a break before I read the last one.
