Not for me! Hero was married to the heroine’s mom

Frankie Love is one of my favourite authors and I was so happy when I realised that she was writing Huck’s story. Huck was briefly introduced at the end of Hard as Steel.

Honey has returned to the last place that she saw her mother after months of no response, she is nervous of going back to the cabin her mum and new husband were sharing deep in the mountain. The day that she met Huck she knew that she had fallen in love for the first and last time but he was married to her mother and nothing could ever happen so she has spent the past year working for a cruise ship company hoping her feelings would change but one look she knows that he is the only man she will ever want the only question will is will he want her?

Huck thought he was doing the right thing by Honey’s mother, getting her off the streets and away from prostitution by marrying her and that was before he met her daughter and realised what real love was but he had made a decision and he was determined that he would do the right thing no matter how much he wanted Honey or how she made him feel so he sent her away told her to follow her dreams. It’s been a year and Honey is stood in front of him still as beautiful as the last time he saw her. Will be strong enough to send her away or now that he is divorced can he allow himself a taste of the forbidden? And will a taste be enough or will he want forever.

This is a short and quick kind of series so easy to read and flows from one book to another. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. 4.5*

Sunsets and Sunrises

3.5 stars - Hot and dirty deliciousness inside this quick read. It does start a little slow as the back story is provided and reiterated but holy cow do Huck and Honey know what they want.

“I’ll be yours,” [Honey] says, “if you’ll be mine.”

Huck fell in love with his wifes daughter. However she was his wife on paper only, it was a platonic marriage he basically married her to get her off the streets. Honey has feelings for him too and when her mother abandons them they are free to act on them.

Loved this couple and the epilogue with their 4 kids and pregnant heroine was so sweet! Sweet, heartwarming story <3

Hard As Wood is the second book in the Hard For Her series, each by a different author. This is the story of Huck, who is the older brother of Rex, from Hard As Steel. Huck is almost forty years old and is a pure Alpha mountain man - rugged, rough, big, strong, handsome, sexy, has an attitude, wants to be alone and did I mention SEXY!!!
Honey is twenty years old and is beautiful, sweet, sexy, smart and independent. She is also Huck's stepdaughter. Well that is legally she is but technically not so much. It seems Huck married Trista, Honey's mother, to help her out after finding her beaten and half dead in an alley. She was working as a prostitute and Huck felt a duty to help her and take care of her. Even though they lived together they never shared a bed and the marriage was in name only.
Honey shows up at Huck's cabin to find her mother and meet Huck which was torture for him as he quickly realized that he craved a taste of Honey and marrying Trista was a mistake because he could never have what he really wanted. A year later and Honey appears again to find her mother as she has not heard from her in two months, but so much has changed. Trista took off a month after the wedding without a word to Huck. Now that Trista is gone will Huck finally give in to his craving and get his Goddess? It seems that Honey has a craving for more than a little taste of the big mountain man also.

This is a wonderful sweet, dirty, sweaty, sexy, romantic, slightly taboo romance story. It was a lot of fun to read and is pure Frankie Love all the way. A definite recommend to other readers.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is a book in the Hard for Her series written by a variety of authors. Huck lives on the mountain and has sworn off women after the woman he married took off after taking his money. Huck didn't love his wife and only married her to keep her off the streets, but she didn't want his help. The only good thing about his marriage is he met her daughter Honey. Huck was very attracted to Honey, but she left to work on a cruise ship. Honey wanted to be with Huck, but she knew he would never be interested in her, especially after being married to her mother. About a year later, Honey showed up wanting to know if Huck knew where her mother was. Huck told her they were only married for about a month and he hasn't seen her since. Huck also told Honey he was never in love with her mother and they never had a real marriage. Honey was Huck's dream woman and when she needed comforting, he hugged her, making him to never let her go. I liked this romance. I liked Huck, he was a good guy who tried to help her mother, but she didn't want the help. Huck wanted Honey and i think he knew she was perfect for him. Honey wanted to be with Huck, she wanted a life with him on the mountain, Good one.

The story of Huck and Honey. I did not like that he married the h mother to get her off the streets, he met Honey and fell in love but still married her mother (it was a marriage on paper, no feelings, no love, no sex), but still did he have to marry her to help her get her on her two feet and away from a life on the streets? He says after his wife (the heroines mother) left him, he swore off all women. So where is the love he felt for Honey? When Honey asked why he had to marry her mother, that she was going to cheat on him, to which he responds, 'She's my wife'. Honey picked collected her things and left. I kept reading, but I was done with him.
Honeys mother left a big impact on him to do that and he called this marriage a relationship, so I am already hating this dynamic. After the mother left them, the daughter comes back and the hero wants her. I get there was supposed to be kink and taboo, but it only left me with a feeling of disgust for the H.
A Hard pass 2 stars.
I would not consider it safe really. He did not have to marry Honey's mother, but he did. Even though he never touched her, he called it a relationship nonetheless and declared her as his wife to the h. I did not like that, not for me!

I received this short story with the understanding I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we get the story of Huck and Honey. Huck is Honey's ex stepfather but she doesn't know that yet. See about a year ago Honey told Huck she wanted to take this job working a cruise ship he encouraged her to go even though all he wanted was to hold on to her as tight as he could. Just a few days after she left her mom his ex-wife started disappearing. When Honey returns he is forced to tell her the truth about how he doesn't know where she is. Honey realizes this might be her chance to finally get what she wants to. Because the only reason she took that job is she didn't want to watch her mom be with the man she really wanted. Will these two find their HEA or will this just be one more time they will see each other without being honest?

This is an amazing short story. Though you know it is going to be the amount of information that is put in this book really brings it alive. There is so much I want to tell you about it but don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Huck Married Trista because he had found her in a alleyway half dead a pimp beat the hell out of her so Huck being a good man took Trista home to his cabin to help her heal then he married her there wasn’t any love or even sex but when Trista’s 20 year old daughter Honey came to visit that’s all Huck could think about was Honey he wanted her but it wasn’t right. Now a year later Trista has disappeared and Huck divorced her now Honey is standing there in front of him looking for her mother. Honey has been attracted to Huck since she met him but he was her stepfather so Honey went to work on a cruise ship to try and forget about him but it didn’t work so now she’s back her mother has disappeared and Huck divorced her mother so now it means that Huck isn’t off limits anymore. That’s all I’m going to give you guys this is another fantastic addition in The Hard for Her series and this is an older man younger woman/ mountain man story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I kind of loved this story. The way Huck and Honey met was messed up, but the feelings were awesome. The characters were interesting and relatable.

Huck is an ax-wielding alpha male. He's sworn off women since the one he wants, he can't have because she's his ex-stepdaughter and far away. Huck is shocked when Honey shows up at his cabin unannounced. He wants to keep Honey, but he's sure that she can't feel the same way he does. Huck knows that she is sweet, with a body that makes him hard as wood. He's going to give Honey everything she wants and maybe, she'll give him everything he wants too.

Huck was super sweet. I loved that he explained what his relationship had been with Honey's mom to her before they got involved. The fact that they both had feelings for each other and both fought them was wonderful. I loved their happy ever after. I definitely recommend reading this book.

I really liked the taboo, but not really nature of this book. While, there is a significant age gap, the taboo aspect comes in because Huck was married to Honey's mother. Buuuutttt, it wasn't a true marriage. He married her simply to help and protect her; the marriage was never consummated. Add to that, Honey's mother left just a month after she and Huck were married. Shortly thereafter Huck divorced her, having come to the realization that she wasn't really ready to accept help. For a year, Huck and Honey dreamed of one another, loved each other from afar. But when Honey shows up at Huck's mountain cabin and the truth about his marriage is revealed, nothing stands in their way. Sweet and spicy, I really loved this story. I am looking forward to reading the others in the Hard for Her series!

Second book – Huck’s story! Just as with book one this is about an older man/younger woman. In this case this short story is about Huck and Honey. Based on the first book as he was introduced as Rex’s brother who had not found love. He had once married Honey’s mother just to help her out but never formed a relationship with her because he didn’t feel anything for her. Honey came to visit him after finding out that he had married her mom, and left thinking of him only and not understanding why life was what it was. Huck divorces Honey’s mom as she disappears back to her old life and he has done all he can to help her. Honey and he finally disclose secrets and the story is fast-forward to a 10 year epilogue that was awesome! I love that they each found their happy ending.

Frankie did it again!. Huck is a good man that lives in the mountains. He say this lady that was just beat by her pimp and decided to do the right thing, he brought her to his home & married her to keep her save. One day her daughter Honey was there getting ready to leave for a job on a cruise line to get away from her mother. A year later Honey came back looking for mother because Honey knew that Huck probably knew where she was. Unfortunately he didn't cause she left town with no real way of contacting her. Once in the present of Huck Honey knew that is where she belonged. She always wanted a mountain man that was build like a statue. Huck wanted Honey as much as Honey wanted Huck. They both got what they wanted. HEA for sure.

This is a book that is part of a multi author world and was just sheer good fun

Huck is man who worked hard made his money and retreated from the world to his mountain but he is a man that likes to be a saviour and when he sees Trista down on her luck working as a prostitute he sees his chance to save her Only problem is she has a daughter Honey and his feelings about her aren't the way a man should feel about his step daughter luckily Honey decides to join a cruise line as a cleaner and leaves his orbit Now twelve months later Honey has returned looking for her mother and Huck has to tell her that her mother is gone was a prostitute and stole money from him. He also can't help but let her know how he feels about her luckily the feeling is mutual has she finally found the man she can love and has he finally found the woman that makes him whole You will have to read to see

Huck married Honey's mother after finding her beaten by her pimp. He wanted to help her and thought maybe getting her a better life would work. It didn't and to make matters worse Huck wanted Honey the minute he met her. When things ended between Huck and her mother it was somewhat a relief to her as well. Because Honey had developed feelings for Huck. When Honey shows back up a year later after no word from her mother Huck knows that he isn't going to let this chance get away from him. Will Honey stay with Huck? What about her mother?

This is a great short story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover

This authors books are totally hit or miss for me. This one just didn’t do it for me. Not only was it boring but it felt like she wanted a forbidden love story but then made it so there was absolutely no forbidden to it. Step dad and step daughter... ooooh it’s so wrong. But he married the woman when the daughter was already an adult, he met the daughter once and they never lived together, he never loved the mother, he never had sex with the mother, the next time he sees the daughter he’s already been divorced from her mother for a long period of time, and the mother never makes an appearance in the book. There was nothing forbidden or kinky about this book what so ever and there was no storyline beyond them reconnecting and him proposing less than 24 hours after she shows up an entire year after he met her. 😒 ugh.

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
Hard as wood is book two in the hard for her series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Huck wanted Honey as soon as he met her. The problem was that he had just married her mother. A year later and he is divorced when Honey returns from working on a ship. Will they finally get together?
The chemistry between Huck and Honey is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I liked the build up to them getting together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

If you have ever read a Frankie Love book, you know that she knows how to write an alpha mountain man. One who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to love hard and cherish his woman. Huck is no different. Huck is a great guy who tries to help someone he thinks needs him. Instead he meets the love of his life and unfortunately, he can't do anything about it. After one meeting he knows that Honey is his. Honey is leaving for a job the next day. A year after meeting, Honey comes back to the mountain that she first met Huck. In true Frankie Love fashion, there is heat and chemistry so intense you can practically taste it through the pages. Huck and Honey are sweet and steamy and I didn't want to leave them on their mountain.

Our heroine returns home to find her mom divorced her step-dad, but it turns out okay with her as she is happy to pick up where mom left off.

This is book two of the series, but the books only share a theme, so no prior reading is required.

This is a novella length romance with a semi-taboo theme. The story is well written, easy to read and very enjoyable. The characters have a good bit of background to them, certainly enough to carry the story. But what they have in abundance is chemistry and that becomes apparent rather quickly. Along the way we get a nice bit of steam and a fun HEA. Overall, a very enjoyable weekend read.

Highly recommended.

Huck lives in a secluded cabin, found his one and only, excepted she is his step daughter of the women who we wanted to help out of a bad situation. Honey comes back to the cabin to find her mom has run off, and that her attraction to Huck has grown since the time she has been gone.

This quick story is of a deep and simple love of those with a generous heart.

Here is one of these very short and very sweet stories. It is totally insta - everything with a twist. Of course as it is so short, there is no room for any deviations outside of the main theme during the story. I felt it a bit but not enough to warrant any deduction in star ratings. It is, I believe at least, more difficult to write a good short story than a good longer one as there is no room for any extra words. Overall a good job done and thus fantastic four stars.

Huck is a lumberjack of a man, he lives in the mountains after taking a indefinite break from the city. He agrees to marry Trista to help her out, but it was in name only. Then he meets her daughter Honey and all bets are off. Now a few months later Honey comes looking for her mom, only to find she ran. Taking a chance the explore a relationship. Great HEA with lots of passion.

To find out, you must read this short story.

In this contemporary age gap romance, readers discover a basic romantic plot lie of girl meets boy and what follows with the ups and downs as they navigate their romantic journey together. The dialog moves this story along revealing the lead characters’ true character.

Hard as Wood follows Huck and Honey. Honey is Huck's ex step daughter, which gives their love story a bit of a taboo twist, and it is so very good! Huck is strong, confident, and absolutely sure of what he wants and Honey is compassionate, sweet, and so very perfect for him. Another short read, Hard as Wood is like a perfect bite. It's well written and put together beautifully. I really enjoyed it!!

This story had some meat to it, that drew me in and kept me there until the very end.
The story was on the concept of we can not chose who we love, but when we find that soul mate we hold on and do not let go.
I truly enjoy the chemistry between this older man and his step daughter oops I mean his innocent ex- step daughter and the path it took them to get to the end of their journey.

OTT instantaneous attraction, but what happens when you can’t have the one you truly want? Interesting twist to this short novella, liked the characters and storyline with backstory to give you explanations. This was a very quick paced read, that gave the characters and reader what they hope for in an enjoyable ending.

Huck tried to be a nice guy and helps a down-on-her-luck lady by marrying her. He was not expecting her daughter, Honey, as part of the package, but welcomes her. Honey visits Huck’s mountain home and falls in love immediately with the surroundings. Sometimes thi Nd s don’t work out, but other doors open if you walk through them. Huck & Honey are a taboo couple. They’re electric from the beginning all the way to the end. 4.5/5

This is a really sweet short story. Honey is Huck's ex-stepdaughter. He's really attracted to Honey but he couldn't tell her why he married her mother. Honey leaves but a year later she returns.
