CW: Homophobia, Amnesia, Hospitals, Oedipus complex

This story was alright. It was entertaining as a sequel to Dear Myself. I like certain things about this, like a consensual sex scene where one of the characters enjoys his time receiving. You don't see that often enough, especially in the 90s. There are still some dated things like gay slurs, but it's not super harmful. I wouldn't overly recommend this one, unless you're already a fan of Eiki Eiki's stories.

Okay, so 'Last Spring' was pretty darn cute. But 'World's End' was horrible. The relationship between Daigo and Hirofumi went from dependent to emotionally and physically abusive, and it was also romanticised, which is not okay

Didn't realize it but I had read World's End before finding out that it was the sequel to Dear Myself. Luckily enough I bought the first volume at a different bookstore so it was sitting in my to-be-read pile. Though the story has very dark undertones and it's probably not a healthy relationship it was a very enjoyable read. I liked how over half the manga itself was the original story sometimes it's disappointing when the main story is only a few chapters long and then a bunch of bonus material. Luckily I also enjoyed the bonus material for this manga only one I didnt care for was Papa's 18.

2.5 stars. This print also collects a couple unrelated stories (that are not even stand-alones but parts of other series by the author ). The main story continuing from "Dear Myself" is fine, the art is gorgeous, but clearly this author has the tendency to go with rather weird storylines. (Some might find then more endearing that me.)

Definitivamente no es mi tipo de manga, pero estaba ahí en el librero sin leer, así que decidí hacerlo hoy.

Creo que hubiera dado igual si lo leía o no, pues no conecte con el manga. Las historias no me gustaron.

Sequel to Dear Myself (as well as a chapter that's a sequel to another story). I thought it was so cool to see the characters several years later and learn that they have and will stay together ^^

Review originally published at mangaupdates.com in March, 2009.

Her art has an interesting contrast of sharp facial angles and choppy hair with long and smooth bodies.

But it's the psychology of both this concluding piece and the original, Dear Myself, that gets my fascination. When Diago finally finds happiness with Hiro, he can't stand to let him out of his sight, due to his deep trauma of the last person he loved never coming back. . .There were a few scenes of him suffering from his own thoughts that I found poetic and heart wrenching. And Hiro's fear deals with his memories, or lack thereof.

I applaud Eiki-sensei in accomplishing this feeling from me multiple times (The Art of Loving! *gasp!*) even though I don't go gah-gah over her art style. That is talent: To evoke feelings in a reader, even a read that isn't particularly drawn to the art. There was something about her words, her series of events and the eyes that made me connect.

Fear can powerfully twist love into something that pushes us away from happiness. There were a few personal 'truths' that I could relate too in this story by Eiki-sensei, and she did an excellent job at weaving her loose and sketchy and elongated style around thoughtfully delivered words. A lot of the wisdom, came from two likeable women in the story!

I found it believable. And it made me think, who is anybody else to say what is 'right' for a relationship or 'healthy?' This story subtly addresses this issue.

This manga is a collection of short stories set in various universes written and drawn by Eiki Eiki. If you don't know the universes featured in this manga, don't buy this book because you won't understand much.

I bought this book especially because of the sequel to "Dear Myself" and boy was it worth it. Hirofumi's amnesia issues, Daigo's abandonment issues leading to his suicide attempt... I cried like a baby while reading it.

The second story "Honeymoon" I didn't understand much because I don't know the background but it was still very cute!

And the last three-parter called "Papa is 18" is very funny and not even that yaoi-sh considering that Noboru marries Chiharu's mother. But it was oh so cute and not at all angsty...

I bought this manga in German. In English it'll come out Oct 31st 2007 and if you know Eiki Eiki and you are their fan, buy it!

TRIGGER WARNING.

The other stories were pretty good but the story that this book is named for was about an abusive relationship. The story seemed to revolve around how it was the victim (of the abuse)'s fault for making his boyfriend sad/angry and then guilting him into returning to the relationship and then essentially giving his life to his abusive boyfriend. D: *puke* DO NOT read if you are a survivor of emotional and/or sexual abuse. It's hella triggering.

So overall I was pretty disappointed with that story, especially since I love Eiki Eiki so much! I wouldn't recommend this, unless it's for the other stories, which were amusing and fun.

A collection of various stories. I did like the first one - "Last Spring" was really beautiful and filled with a quiet sort of desperation.

"World's End" creeped me out too much for me to really enjoy it - I don't think Daigo's and Hirofumi's relationship is very healthy at that point, and when Daigo locked Hirofumi into a room I almost couldn't read on.

I admit that I didn't quite get the other stories in the book.

This book is a compilation of several different stories, three of which are directly related to Dear Myself. As a whole, it includes more homophobic slurs and abusive relationships presented as undying romance. One of the abusive relationships is even presented as comedy. Clearly this author is not for me.
