For me, falling in love at first sight would take months of planning. A little caution never hurt anyone. But Maxwell Foxx isn't a man or a desire you can easily ignore. The man has sexy in his DNA. Falling in love with him was easy, inevitable. But keeping him would become a fight for my life.
Young photographer, Vivienne Banks could never be accused of throwing caution to the wind. She's earned her nickname 'Cautious Viv'. A tragic childhood colours her future and her trust is something you have to earn. When her love life hits the rocks, Vivienne hits the bar with devastating consequences.
In his sights already, gorgeous billionaire, Maxwell Foxx comes to her rescue. But who is rescuing whom? And at what price? Will Vivienne ever truly understand the significance of the M.F. tattoo over Max's heart? And will Max ever be able to break free from the ghosts in his past, and the bonds which tie him to another?
Let's talk about me!.... Really? Born in Manchester (UK), now living in the south east of England. (Exciting, isn't it?) In my early twenties, my ambition and self-drive prompted me to give up my office job in London to pursue a more creative lifestyle as an entertainer. I've been very fortunate to have enjoyed a long career as a singer/songwriter/musician, travelling the world, and as I've had a fascination with film for as long as I can remember, I also completed a course at the National Film & Television School in the UK I've directed a pilot for television and worked as a Script Supervisor for acclaimed and esteemed British director and screenwriter Jane Gull. My creative streak and passion for writing produced my first endeavour as an author, a trilogy in the contemporary adult romance genre. The SEXY M.F. Series.
M.F. - Book I
MISSING FOXX: (When you least expect it...) Book II
MINE FOREVER: (No me without you) Book III
Currently, I'm working on a new novel, which I hope to release soon.
To everyone who reads my work, I'm very grateful, and I thank you mahoosively. x:-)
Oh my goodness. Wow. I really wasn't expecting the emotional impact this book has had on me. It's been hard to tear myself away from and I plan on heading straight to the next book now. This book is all consuming and so addictive. The characters are so well developed too. A really brilliant and unexpected book. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wanting a much needed break from my usual genre, I decided to pick up this light romance novel, M.K. by Lisa Mackay. This book reminded me so much of 50 Shades of Grey, without all of the S&M and abusive mind-fuckery.
It was a little slow at first, but I slowly found myself drawn into Vivienne and Max’s story and found myself wanting to know happens. I really liked how Vivienne was a strong female character, even though Max tended to be more dominant. Viv stood her ground and stood up for herself, which is something I truly detested about Anastasia.
I would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy a little “insta-love” and light romance. For me, it was a quick read and gave me a mental break from the darker genre’s I usually gravitate towards.
Thank you to BooksGoSocial for my copy of this book via NetGalley
Let me begin by saying 5 stars is definitely not enough!! I promised the author an honest review but it will have to be a quick one unfortunately as I HAVE to start reading the next book NOW!! So apologise for it being a quick one!! Vivienne has a fab job but a bit of a dull life until BOOM Mr Foxx the sexy billionaire discovers her!! What follows next will draw you in, tears, smiles, a complete roller-coaster of emotions!! I began reading it and thought ooo a bit 50 shades but was extremely and pleasantly surprised!! I enjoyed the 50 shades series but this book is much better than that. Couple of steamy scenes. of course, what romance wouldn't but unlike 50 shades it isn't every other page which did get a bit boring (look out for the pun in the book). Secrets, lies and jealousy, this book is a MUST READ for romance, suspense and 50 shades fans alike. Extremely well written, I got Immediately stuck in and have taken it everywhere with me. Now, seriously, I must end this review as the cliff hanger is killing me and the second book awaits... Pick up a copy, you WILL NOT be disappointed... Watch this space for a review of book 2 xx
M.f. (book 1-sexy m.f. series) by Lisa Mackay. For me, falling in love at first sight would take months of planning. A little caution never hurt anyone. But Maxwell Foxx isn't a man, or a desire, you can easily ignore. The man has sexy in his DNA. Falling in love with him was easy... inevitable. But keeping him would become a fight for my life.
Young photographer Vivienne Banks could never be accused of throwing caution to the wind. 'Cautious' could be her middle name! A tragic childhood colours her future and trust must be earned. When her love life hits the rocks, Vivienne hits the bar with devastating consequences. In his sights already, gorgeous billionaire Maxwell Foxx, comes to her rescue. But who is rescuing whom, and at what price? Will Vivienne ever truly understand the significance of the M.F. tattoo over Max's heart? And will Max ever be able to move on from the ghosts in his past, and the bonds which tie him to another? Omg an absolutely fantastic read. Wow. Loved most of the characters. Didn't like Monica at all. Absolutely brilliant. Well written too. Cant wait for the next book. 5*. Highly recommended.
ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
There was so much I liked about this book & author - Book 1 does however end on a cliffhanger
The only reason I am not giving this book 5 Stars is that at times I wanted to shake the characters & say just get it together!! Max & Vivienne belong together just wish they had gotten together sooner in the book.
This book reminded me a lot of 50 Shades of Grey however I really liked this authors writing style - I will def check out book 2 in the series. Lisa Mackay writes with such funny British humor ( thx u for the glossery of British terms lol)
You cannot help but fall in love with billionaire Max - gorgeous , sexy - kind hearted & protective to Vivienne’s independent free spirit ...
Both have suffered many hurts & disapointments in life but together they are stronger & so in love ...
Great secondary characters - my fav is Lucy - Vivienne’s best friend ...
Hope to read Book 2 to find out if there is a HEA - hope so 👍
Better than expected. The character development was actually really good. The tropes in the book prevented me from fully loving it, however, this is a solid plot with a solid idea. Definitely not a waste of an afternoon.
Unusual handling of my least favorite trope - insta-love -that got me invested in the story . Lots of twists and turns here! I'm jumping into book 2 right away.
I am so glad I stumble upon the sale of these books.. Book 1 was so good.. This story has all the things I love.. A possessive billionaire and a regular girl. They have their fun and issues and there is lots of drama with the exes .. Such a good story.. but it ends on a cliffhanger so have book 2 ready to go..
M.F. (Book 1 - Sexy M.F. Series) von Lisa Mackay BooksGoSocial Cover: the cover is beautiful. Review: This book is not only reminiscent of Fifty Shades of Gray, it seems to copy this formally and in some places to be better. The author even points out the book in his. The parallels were way too big in my opinion, whether it was the character, the frame story. I found FSoG already boring and the people in it implausible. Not to mention the films, which were a single boring catastrophe. This book could have been so much more. There are countless books in this genre that are written much better, with interesting stories and characters. That really disappointed me, it was nothing new, nothing exciting. The protagonist Vivienne is just a little stupid naïve girl with a penchant for self-destruction, who takes the complete control of her life from a rich macho. I lacked plausibility and reality in many places. Unfortunately I can give 3 out of 5 stars with much good will. And that's especially because the cover is beautiful. Many thanks to Netgalley and Booksgosocial Publishing and the author. A little tip to the author sometimes is a little less wanted just more.
I got the arc edition from Netgalley in exchange of honest review.
First of all, It reminds me so much of fifty shades of grey. Anyway, the starting few chapters were boring but after 4-5 chapters, it gripped me. It was interesting yet predictable read. With some gripping twists and turns and suspense. Vivienne and Max met at some gala, they officially met after she nosedived in gents bathroom in an event and he rescued her and paid her medical bills. after some unsuccessful dates, Viv moves in with Max due to some reason which you'll know after you read the book. I found it hard or a bit impossible to relate to their relationship. I agree they had a spark which was avident but their relationship escalated too quickly. There are some gruelling secrets, exs and some enemies. Its interesting and gripping. All in all, I'll recommend this book to anyone who likes insta romace with suspense.
Sorry, couldn't finish book muck let get through couple of chapters without cringing. The writing is awful and so predictable. My 17 y/of is more mature than Vivienne. Most of the time I want to slap her. She's always jumping to the wrong conclusion and ruminating nonsense. Talk about shit for brains. Then twin brothers, the wrong gorgeous mistaken identity twin, then the 'cliche' ' you don't eat like other women...salad and rabbit food... ' rolling my eyes' here' So may cliches it's like I'm reading an excerpt from ALL the thousands books I've read. Disappointed and painful. LOVETOREAD
A plausible plot with well described and believable characters. Vivienne and Max's love affair is fast and torrid. Very explicit sex scenes which I found to be too long, detailed, and unnecessary. The author repeats the same physical gestures too often. Despite these criticisms, I did enjoy the book and would recommend it if you want a sexy romantic.
I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book! The characters developed very quickly and brilliantly. Spoiler alert that it does end on a cliffhanger but it's so worth the read. I couldn't put it down!
I quickly delved into the 2nd and 3rd book as I had to know how it ends. Can't say enough about it
I got to 45% and skimmed through this utter rubbish
If you like weak billionaire hero's with a crazy ex and said ex married the hero's brother had a kid with said brother then she kills the boy by poisoning him then pick up this utter rubbish ends on a cliffhanger but I don't even care how it continues.
If you enjoy steamy romance reads, then this is the book for you! A really well written and enjoyable story with lots of sizzling scenes. This is part of a series and I will definitely search for the next one. Ideal addition to your suitcase for a beach holiday.
For me, this was okay if you liked 50 shades of grey then you may like this one too as it is a lot like it in place it felt like chunks had been taken from the series and just reworded in places. It is the first book in the series and it was not bad I just did not love it
M.F. Book One by Lisa Mackay is a book I've been trying very hard to like, but it seems like a rehash of Fifty Shades, which seemed like Fan Fiction of Twilight (I'm pretty sure it WAS FF!). I just couldn't get through it. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel.
I enjoyed this book so much I have read the entire series and can honestly say I feel bereft. I want to read more by Ms Mackay and hope she produces something else soon. I thought this was the best book in the trilogy (so far). Although there are so many highs and lows in these books, to think all 3 books cover only 276 days is incredible. It wore me out just reading about them. Congratulations on treating male self harm so well. It is an important part of the story and we'll written. This book would be fine without it but it becomes more important in a later novel and shows an alpha male with a weakness. I was given this book by NetGalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary and impartial review.

I felt this read had a lot of interesting similarities to 50 shades just without the bdsm aspect. I was a little annoyed by Vivienne and her assumptions to situations that would occur. I was frustrated and that I find I don't like either. Max is sweet and seemed a little dense at times. I know he loved Monica, but how could you not see her CRAZY!! There were red flags everywhere!! This read picked up for me finally toward the middle. I hope everyone gets what is coming to them!! The twists took me by surprise! I will read the second one for sure! I HATE CLIFFHANGERS! At least it is out now to buy on Amazon! Yep! I will be reading that next!! Off to the next!
I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley at my request for an honest review. The opinions expressed are solely my own. Thank you Net Galley!!
