1) She had to be cool-headed, unflappable, strong, and convincing enough to fool my manipulative, grasping, greedy relatives.
2) She had to be so charming my great aunt will fall in love with her.
3) She had to be stunningly beautiful or nobody would believe the heir and successor of the Obolensky fortune had picked her to be his wife.
There was only one woman I could think of who embodied all those qualities. How to convince her to play the part...

Wealthy Alex Obolenski is a man who goes after what he wants and is someone very few dare to mess with, in the need of a fake fiancé, he’s set his sights on Cindy. Knowing her desire to own her own casino he makes a proposal – if she acts as his fiancé for a couple weeks as they visit his great aunt in Russia, he’ll give her half ownership in the club with an option to buy him out in five years. After talking to her friends, she takes the leap and accepts his deal, but their attraction means that the lines between business and the personal soon blur.
A nice light read, started a tad slow for me but then found myself overall engaged.
Alex needed a fake fiancé and Cindy was the best candidate for the position. With an explosive chemistry, an engaging plot with many twists and turns, this romantic story was very enjoyable and kept my interest.
It's really really annoying to buy a book and not realize it's connected to other books. Her best friends have their own books and Cindy is in them. It makes me not want to read this one because then everything will be out of order in my head.... I have to read things/events in order. Yes you'll tell me its a "standalone" but I don't give a fuck. I don't want to read about her married friends knowing that they have their own book and I'm missing out on things. And no I have no desire to read the past books either - if I did I would have already bought them. If we aren't a super fan of the author and follow everything she writes then how are everyday readers supposed to know. This is why we have series. I have quit author's because of this and I probably will on this one. After this I will not trust any of her books.
Beautiful and independent Cindy is single and a hard worker. She works at The Macau Casino as manager. Her best friends are happily married but Cindy dreams of owning her own casino! Gorgeous alpha male Alex Is Russian, oh Georgia Le Carre I do love your Russians 🔥❤️. He is in need of the perfect fake fiancée and he finds her in Cindy. His beloved Babushka is not easily fooled. I read this nonstop! It’s so good! The minute they shake hands their is a definite spark of chemistry. But Alex is a businessman on a mission. They are attracted to each other, and when that attraction ignites (I get goosebumps 😍🔥) the love scenes are explosive 🧨 I loved Cindy, she knows what she wants and goes after it. But, like in all her books this story line has twists and turns and interesting characters. I loved it. The attraction, the romance and I Love Epilogues!
I thought some parts were pretty inconsistent, character wise.
The first chapter, the H is very self-assured and pretty much an entitled asshole and the h, while yeah totally thinking with her vagina from page one, she seemed cool. *shrugs*
I have no idea what happens to them later on. The H becomes this needy, vulnerable thing and while that's a look I dig at times, the complete 180 threw me off and annoyed me really. And the h, she was supposed to be a cool operator. No seriously, it's in her character makeup, you hear about it every other page. But she turned into this- . . . I don't even know what. Wishy-washy maybe? Right from the start she goes into the arrangement thinking she's gonna fall for him and all that crap. As if it's all set in stone, never even bothers to fight it. They both don't.
It was just ridiculous really. There were other things too of course but this was something that my mind just wouldn't get past.
I was gonna give it 2.5 stars but I liked Babushka and the end was sweet despite the mess the rest of the book felt like.
This was another great read by Le Carre complete with Cindy's girlfriends from other books. Cindy is surprised when a huge, handsome, well-dressed man admits to cheating the casino she manages out of 200,000 Euros. Then after ordering her favorite, non-orthodox cocktail for her, he tells her to take the rest of her shift off and that he has bought the club she manages. But then asks her to meet him in the former owner's never used office. There he makes a proposition for her to act as his fiance for a couple weeks as they visit his great aunt in Russia. In return, he will give her half ownership in the club with an option to buy him out in five years. With input from her friends, she decides to risk the adventure! From flying in his private jet, to the gilded palace-like mansion, to the huge stables with horses for her pleasure, the whole experience is an adventure indeed. Cindy knew she was attracted to him from the beginning and sure enough, she falls in love with Alex and his Aunt. Too bad she has to cope with his wicked witch cousins, the haunting of her rooms, and being thrown off the gentle mare when she was riding alone. And what secret has her escaping back to London, alone, injured, and heartbroken? This recommended read will put your stomach in knots
Alex Obolenski is not a man to be trifled with. He is wealthy, he is smart and he has experienced so much in his life. He just bought the London casino, Macau, and is intrigued with its manager, Becky Forrester. He's been watching her for awhile and is convinced that she can do a job for him that only a very special woman can do. He needs a fake fianceé to travel with him to Russia and meet his great aunt, Babushka. Since his parents' death, she has been like a parent to him and he wants her to be happy. It would make Babushka very happy if she could see Alex married and, hopefully, produce a child before she's gone. That's where Cindy comes in. He's sure that Cindy is just the kind of woman Babushka would adore so he makes Cindy an offer. Be my fake fianceé during our trip to Russia and I'll deed you half ownership of the Macau! She can't turn him down, can she? Once in Russia, this story takes quick turns and there are some secrets, lies and surprises for the entire family. Alex's two cousins, Petra and Anastasia, are quite cunning, almost evil in their attempts to scare Becky away from Babushka's stately palace, Winter House. When their attempts turn deadly, Alex has to put his foot down and more secrets come out, but who's telling the truth!? The ending has nice twists and the HEA is beautiful! One last surprise in the epilogue makes this a tightly woven story with love everywhere!
Cindy is feeling like the odd woman out whilst her three besties are happily married to the men of their dreams. She's very happy for them, but she has other plans for herself, she's happy with her position as the manage of the casino, but secretly dreams of having her own casino. She's got an eagle eye for cheats, and has spotted a new ones, thanks to her head of security, at the roulette wheel. He seems to be winning big, and making a spectacle of it. She approaches him to ask him to leave politely, when she gets one look at him, she's aware of him being a dangerously attractive man. Alex is the new owner of the casino and has learned a lot about Cindy, he goes with her to the bar for a drink, and a talk. He's in need of a fiancée for a trip to visit his aunt, who's more of a grandmother to him. He makes Cindy a proposal of a lifetime, for her pretending to be his fiancée while visiting his family, she'll receive a half ownership of the casino. I loved this book and the characters are amazing. It was so much fun to see the chemistry between the two, even with the manipulative meeting of Alex's two cousins, and I adored his aunt. I reviewed an advanced reader copy via Bad Boy Update.
ONE DELECTABLE BLAZING TREAT!!! Flaming kindle! Georgia sets up one chaotic ride serving side of mayhem and shenanigans running rampant blazing this baby together piece by piece. Peeling layer after layer exposing every detail in vivid color as she skillfully lays this bad boy out with unbelievable results. A fantastic storyline and explosive plot keeps swirling with a myriad of twists and turns that meld this baby together piece by piece. Wrangling the trials and tribulations with so much drama, intrigue and suspense catapults this bad boy to life delightfully. The characters chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are genuine, tangible and realistic with depth and on point personalities that blend fluidly throughout. The scenes are so vividly detailed and descriptive its paints a fantastic backdrop. Fantastic job Georgia, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Georgia loves her bad boy Russian bratva dominant characters in her past books but this has more of a feisty Brit girl love story to it. Cindy is a well put together business woman who takes nothing from no-one and Alex who is a wealthy Russian who falls for the beautiful blonde. The story is based around doing right by an aging aunt who everyone loves - Alex wants to make her happy. Cindy feels the make pretend fiancé very well. A few twists along the way that happen in Russia and the 2 are attracted more to each other than the original business contract they signed. Good story that keeps you entertained.
Well!... I thoroughly enjoyed that!! Gripping from start to finish (and what a great HEA finish that was) plenty of drama, love, lust and passion written in Georgia's very specific style. The amount of detail in her books is extraordinary, you feel like you're in the room with them!
Alex & Cindy Both Stand To Gain From Their Fake Fiancée Arrangement, But As Time Goes By And Cindy Finds Herself Falling For Alex, She Wonders If It Is Worth The Price Of A Broken Heart!
This standalone is part of the Crave Me romance collection that includes the stories of four best friends. The set includes:
• Submitting to the Billionaire: Star’s story • Redemption: Raven’s story • The Heir: Rosa’s story • Nice Day for a White Wedding: Cindy’s story
This is also a spin-off of Nanny & the Beast, which is where Yuri Volkov and April Winters find love. Yuri’s best friend from childhood, Alexander, gets his own story here. ABOUT THE CRAVE ME ROMANCE COLLECTION:
Star, Raven, Rosa, and Cindy had been best friends since youth. They each had dreams. Star pictured herself as a writer one day. Raven had hopes of becoming a doctor. Rosa wanted to become a fashion industry insider. And Cindy dreamed of becoming successful in the business world. Their friendships had become strained once Star found love at an early age. She and Raven had a falling out roughly around the time Star married Nigel, leaving Rosa and Cindy somewhere in the middle. Cindy had gotten busy with getting her degree. Rosa spent some time in America doing an internship at Cosmo. And Raven gave up her education once her sister became sick. As their stories unfold, they rely on one another and discover that their friendships really can stand the test of time.
For those that pay attention to details, the timelines within the series and the individual books do not always add up. Submitting to the Billionaire primarily takes place during two weeks in June. Redemption takes place during the summer while Star’s relationship with Nikolai is still fresh. Star had been twenty-two; Raven is twenty-three. It is conceivable that Redemption takes place the following summer, but the way it reads it probably takes place during the same summer. However, The Heir takes place during the summer of Nikolai and Star’s wedding, which is two years after the summer they fall in love. At the time of the wedding, Raven is pregnant. Assuming she is very pregnant, it makes sense that Raven’s story took place one year after Star’s. Rosa is twenty-six in The Heir, which again does not add up. It is presumed the girls are all roughly the same age, but Star would be twenty-four at her wedding, two years younger than Rosa. Cindy’s story takes place in June, probably two years following Rosa’s story. Rosa had been twenty-six, and in Cindy’s story she is twenty-eight (nearly twenty-nine).
Note that Cindy’s friends Star, Raven, and Rosa, have small appearances in this story. However, there are some facts that don’t mesh well with earlier stories. It would appear that Star is no longer writing, as only charitable work is mentioned. Raven is not living in London, which is not inconceivable but it is not explained either. Finally, it states Rosa is living in London, but by now she would be living with Dante in Avanti. It feels like Rosa and Raven have been mixed up. NICE DAY FOR A WHITE WEDDING:
Cindy Forrester, twenty-eight, is a proud working class girl. Daughter of a construction worker and a house cleaner, she had gone on to receive a degree in business. She is devoted to her career, so much so that she hasn’t been with a man in over a year. She began working at The Macau, a small London casino owned by the reclusive Lord Alstree, right out of college. Cindy loves working at The Macau. She worked her way up the ladder until becoming manager four years ago. She is good at her job. She routinely deals with difficult customers with ease. Her charm and keen ability to read people give her the advantage in any situation. She always gets her way.
For now, Cindy is working on increasing her savings. The flat Star gifted her certainly helps her to put some money aside, but she doesn’t want to be a charity case. She is perfectly capable of working and supporting herself. Star offered even more after marrying Nikolai, her billionaire husband, but Cindy won’t accept it. Despite her workaholic tendencies, she isn’t opposed to taking risks from time to time. Even though she hasn’t had much opportunity, she understands that life is about experiences. One day, perhaps, she will be in a better position financially to have some adventures of her own.
Alexander Obolensky is a Russian businessman than reeks of danger and intrigue. His dark and stormy personality intimidates. He owns casinos and clubs around the world, though his management methods are rather unconventional. He is cold and closed off, and he is completely without charm. He emanates such power and control, though, that he commands any room he enters. His magnetic eyes captivate. The tattoos that peak out of his designer suits hint to an unspoken past. His eye-catching good looks stand in contrast to his hardened personality.
Born to privilege and raised in opulence, Alex is practically Russian royalty. In his youth, he had rejected everything that was handed to him in favor of making his own way in a violent world. His parents had died when he was fourteen, and though his great aunt had continued raising him, he had built walls around himself in his grief. He was lost and unable to deal with his emotions in a constructive way. Alex followed his best friend Yuri Volkov, who had joined the Russian bratva. He became second in command to Yuri, who had eventually risen to be a Russian crime boss.
Eventually he and Yuri had pulled away from their life of crime. Yuri found love with April. And Alex decided to go legit. He uses his skill at reading people and negotiating deals to buy new businesses and increase his investment portfolio. He looks for companies with excellent management – ones that will run themselves with little of his time or energy required. That leads him to The Macau and to Cindy Forrester. While quietly observing the casino and its manager, he cannot help but notice that Cindy is the perfect woman for a job he has been trying to fill. His aunt will expect a beautiful fireball, a woman deeply in love with him and capable of charming his aunt. And he needs someone capable of standing up to the rest of his family.
When Cindy lays eyes on the arrogant cheat raking in cash at the craps table, she isn’t prepared for the incredible chemistry she feels. And when he makes her a most unusual proposition, she can hardly trust herself to make a sane decision. When Alex finally meets Cindy, he knows he is in trouble. He hadn’t counted on being so attracted to her when he had made his plans. But the clock is ticking. He proposes a business arrangement, unconnected to her job. It is simple. Cindy agrees to be his fake fiancée for a few weeks so that he can make his great aunt happy with the knowledge that he found a good woman. In return, he promises to give Cindy fifty percent ownership of The Macau with an option to buy the rest in five years’ time. He promises to be respectful, and that their relationship will remain entirely professional.
Alex and Cindy’s instant lust romance has lots of heat and flirty banter. Despite that, the characters try to walk the line and not cross over. Alex, in particular, is determined not to make things too confusing. He isn’t good with showing emotions, and that hasn’t played out well with the women in his past. Babushka’s happiness is at risk if his plan fails, so he knows his best bet is to hire someone and keep feelings out of the equation. He is used to being in control, yet when Cindy occasionally tries to take the reins he cannot help but be thrilled at the sight – and he sometimes lets her get her way. Cindy cannot help her attraction to the brute, but is surprised to see a second side of the man when he introduces her to Babushka, his affectionate name for his great aunt. His sincere love for the old woman confounds her as she tries to reconcile the two sides of the enigmatic man. As the couple spends time with Babushka, they also grow closer together. Fighting the undeniable chemistry they share proves more and more difficult. But at the same time, there are challenges involved with living at Winter House. Strange happenings and haughty attitudes interfere with an otherwise gorgeous setting. The couple eventually finds a happy ending.
There are a few issues that merit mention. First, although Alexander’s age is not given, he looks to be close in age to Petra, whom Cindy thinks looks too young to be married. Petra’s adult sister Anastasia is several years younger than both. Alex spent years in the bratva and has spent years building legitimate businesses, so he cannot be too young. That is all difficult to reconcile, but the best guess is late twenties. He is therefore very likely to be close in age to Cindy.
Next, according to Raven’s story, Cindy had inherited her father’s home and had chosen to lease it out in favor of remaining in an apartment with Raven and her niece. Raven has since been married. Here Cindy was gifted a flat from Star after her marriage to billionaire Nikolai. Cindy didn’t want to be a charity case, so didn’t accept more from Star – and likely would not have accepted a flat if she already owned a home. It thus comes across as inconsistent.
Finally, from Raven’s story, Redemption, Cindy had been the manager at The Diamond Rose Casino. It was not necessarily small, though perhaps it could have been. Here she has worked at The Macau since age twenty-one, when she finished college. There is no explanation given, though it could easily be explained stating that the casino had undergone a name change. Without that, it comes across as inconsistent.
Alex and Cindy’s steamy fake fiancé story is about trust, family, and making amends. It is a power struggle between two strong figures. The suspense builds as Cindy agrees to put her trust in Alex, a man she just met. He is cold with a dangerous past, but his caring side confuses her image of the man. She doesn’t know which side is real. They both stand to gain from the unorthodox arrangement they agreed to, but as time goes by and Cindy finds herself falling for Alex, she wonders if it is worth the price of a broken heart. The story is plot-driven. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Alex and Cindy. I rate this book four stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It’s absolutely one of my favorite stories! Cindy knew the moment she laid eyes on Alex at the casino she managed that he was trouble. One look in those beautiful dark and stormy eyes and she was a goner! Then he offered her the deal of a lifetime. How could she refuse this hot sexy alpha male?
Cindy’s perfect for the job Alex has in mind. He needs a fake fiancé. She’s gorgeous, sassy everything he would look for in a woman if he was ready to settle down. He just has to stick to the plan. No matter how much he wants her. But the attraction is just to powerful to ignore. Who is he kidding she was his the minute he laid eyes on her. But will the secrets he’s keeping destroy everything? I love the twists and turns along the way. I was smiling one minute and frustrated as heck the next. I just adored great aunt Babushka. I voluntarily received this arc book from Bad Boy Update for an honest review”

Cindy is the manager of a casino and when a player starts a winning streak it gets suspicious. So she goes down to see the man winning and is immediately drawn to him. Alex ends his playing and walks Cindy to the bar for a drink and then informs her that he now owns the casino. Alex needs help and he wants Cindy for wat he needs. Cindy is stunned by his offer and after talking to her friends she agrees. They leave on a plane to go see his family. Things gets kind of crazy when they get there and soon the lines blur between them. Will Cindy be able to walk away with her heart intact? Will Alex claim his woman before its too late?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for Bad Boy Update.
Georgia Le Carre's books pull me in, and Nice Day For A White Wedding was no exception. I love the author's writing style, and imagery. Having visited Russia, I could envision so much of the Winter House. It was an added plus having characters from other books be mentioned in this story too. I find it enjoyable to catch tidbits on their lives and friendships as another layer of detail. The author writes great chemistry between the characters and has some unpredictable twists which I love. The epilogue in the book was an added plus!
A sexy Russian, a proposition, reaping benefits, and chemistry that will surely set off sparks all make Nice Day For A White Wedding an intriguing story. Cindy works at a casino and gets the offer from a lifetime from Alex, a dark and dangerous man who happens to be her new boss. Will Cindy take the deal? Will Alex give into temptation and break his all business nothing more rule? This book was passionate, captivating, steamy and thrilling. Another great read from Georgia Le Carre. If you love hot dominant Russian alphas, then this a must read.
White Wedding is a stand out book with evrrything you'd expect from Georgia Le Carre. Romance & hot sex from an Alpha Male, plot twist and turns. This book was very well written with complex and realistic characters; it's full of steamy chemistry and has a great plot. It’s a jackpot for readers. Alex buys the casino where Cindy works then asks her to pose as his fiancée so he can make his great aunt happy. This is a new author for me but I will be reading more of her work. I recommend this outstanding and addictive read. I received an ARC and voluntarily left an honest review.
