It's fine. I like the idea and it's very cute at times. It is just completely surface level though. Nothing really going on beneath the surface so far. I don't know if I'd really purchase a volume of this but as part of my jnovel subscription it's a nice little distraction.
I am loving and looking forward to reading a cat manga every Saturday so this will definitely be something I will keep doing!
This manga was quite the adventure! Our main character Kanata, was a very sick girl in her previous life and she wasn’t allowed to pet any animals but she really wanted to so when she reincarnated and animals didn’t like her, she was so disappointed and incredibly driven to become a beast tamer, so she could finally pet the fluff!!
This manga starts when she is ready for the selection ceremony where she gets to choose from, usually a few, professions but she has studied and trained so hard her whole life, being very talented and the best at so many things, so she gets thousands of professions to choose from. Everyone thinks and hopes she will choose a high ranking job or even the extremely rare choice to become a Saint and will change the history of the country but she chooses a low ranked job everyone usually turns down. Nobody knows that she worked this hard to make sure she will have the choice to become a beast tamer in her quest to finally pet the fluff!! You can imagine the shock and how nobody can believe it and keeps trying to persuade her to at least stay in the prestigious school she was attending, as their best student. But no, Kanata goes straight to the dangerous forest on her own, to pet the fluff!! Soldiers try following her because there are strong beasts out there and she isn’t even prepared.. But it’s soon very clear that she doesn’t need them. She saves a cat like creature (very surprising what it actually is and can do) and it becomes her companion. She joins the adventurers guild, meets some amazing people and shows off her incredible magical powers! And in between you can just sense that she enjoys every moment with her companion Zaggy. But the ending shows us that they may be in a lot of trouble soon because a dark creature is watching..
Hard to put down and a great combo of epic and cute! I look forward to reading the next volume!
Kind of OTT silly, but it was a fun, light read. I will try the second volume and hopefully I won’t be disappointed. 3, it has potential and it is silly, stars.

It’s Ok, wouldn’t read it, if it wasn’t for my J-Novel membership. It does have room to grow but is bog down by so many tropes that so many light novels suffer from.
Meh. This was… fine. It had a promising premise & good elements but overall… eh. Very disappointing, honestly.
The good:
- I do like Young Girls/Women/Teens who look cute & unassuming secretly/not-so-secretly being super OP & trailing chaos in their wake without realising…
- the Magic system was interesting! The professions, ect. Not super unique but interesting regardless.
- the whole thing with the Goddess & Zaggy was incredibly interesting!! Reminiscent of the whole “the Saint is secretly bad/evil/wrong” trope. Neat.
- the battle scene at the end? With Katana effortlessly defeating tens of thousands of magical creatures without breaking a sweat? All while condescendingly rating them on a scale they cannot comprehend, only that they are found wanting? That. That I really liked.
The eh:
- I love that Katana is an animal person who loves fluffy creatures but they run away from her because she’s so powerful. I do, but… this was Overdone. The whole “fluffing” this was, quite frankly, a bit weird & Too Much. You can do it right but this… no.
- also, girl - I understand your ambivalence on clothes but parading around in your uniform the whole time? With no care? Moreover, while you are invincible it doesn’t mean your uniform is! At the very least, should have been changing more often/had more copies of it more than was shown…
Overall, will I read more of this series? I mean… maybe. I won’t rule it out but…
If you like this/like this premise I recommend “Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear” for cute unassuming teenage girl being wildly OP & “Fluffy Paradise” for Young Girl Gets Reincarnated With Quest For Fluff (Not Creepy!)
(Note that while I intend to read the light novels for “Fluffy Paradise” as of writing this review I have only seen the Anime adaptation)

Author stresses Kanata's obsession with fluff that it is no longer sanity. A sick girl dies and gets to reincarnate into an alternate reality world (yes, it's yet another isekai). Kanata has one objective from her old life, to be surrounded by fluffy animals. Author takes 15 years to find her a cat in the forest (after graduating as the best student in a magic-martial academy. All she thought of, all she ever desired was t own a fluffy animal. So she chooses monster or spirit tamer (the lowest profession - job) in this alternate reality world. Because Kanata was super OP (Over-Powered) with strength and skills, and mana, and everything (including beauty) She saves a black cat from the attack of two birdlike spirits. The black cat turns out to be a Demon Lord (Zag’giel - Zaggy - nickname) that is stuck inside the body of a powerless kitty cat. Because Kanata does not want to continue in the martial academy, she decides to become an adventurer and start her adventures in this new world. Fluffy obsession is pathological. Hopefully there is a story beyond a Cat Lady that is 15 years old in another world. Illustrations and colors are well done. I hope author has a bigger imagination than the one read in this first volume of this new light novel. First Volume has 200+ pages, illustrations, blank pages, cover page and information, in just 6 chapters. So the main plot arc is completely open, the action of this series is super duper flat. There is actually a parody novel series written by a Westerner, about a Cat Lady who delves into Dungeons and becomes a Dungeon Core.
I dislike books about isekaied kids with passion. They are young, don't know much about life, they easy to bully and take advantage of, and on top of everything, they don't have common sense.
First, I really dislike the MC name, I kept calling her katana. Second, I hated how she had zero sense about money. Where are her parents? Why is she allowed to roam free without guards? She needs a crash course on how to be independent before she starts traveling. Third, her cat Zaggy is utterly useless. He put her in so much danger by trying to act strong.
And who the hell gives a second chance to someone who tried to have them assassinated for centuries? He is supposed to be the demon king not an infant. I know he was left cursed for ages so he probably forgot how to act his age but come on, give him some sense.
Her obsession with fluff is cute and all but after a while it gets tiring and boring. I'm going to put a long intervals between volumes so I don't hate the story.
I enjoyed reading this starting out but as the story progressed I was more interested in the gods and goddesses that want to reap souls for substance. I was more intrigued by side characters than the heroine. I found the joy of fluff and fluffy fun at 1st but she never explained herself to anyone, nor listened to anyone. She's suppose to be so smart in her classes and recognized for being smart but I could forgiven that if the heroine Kanata showed any of those traits she was known for. I don't have the stomach to read beyond the 1st book. I love my cats and sympathize with those who have to be without but this was just uhuh.
This is a strangely refreshing take on the isekai OP Hero, slow-paced, but adorable on the one-track mind MC. Or rather, the cool lady Kanata who doesn't want to be a Saint, but a humble Beast Tamer in the hunt for Fluff. To the point that she maxed out her skills in various fields to ensure this path. Along with her companion Zaggy' aka the former Demon King, Kanata is on the path to spreading the word of Fluff.
The main character is like a mix between the kid from the Starter Town anime and a 5 year old girl that is obsessed with cats or fluffy animals. She goes from really mature for her age at the beginning to very immature after she gets the main pet. This gets 5 stars because I refuse to give a book lower than that.
I enjoyed the story and thought it was funny. My only complaint is they made the heroine kind of dumb. Still I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next book. I hope at some point the heroine gets a little smarter or it could become a little hard to read.
Our heroine has an obsession with fluff and frankly it seems to be inappropriate, though it’s not clear exactly how. That said, this book is ridiculous and I have rarely laughed this hard.
Very surface level but a wonderful escape-read. Adorable, especially if you love (literal) fluff. Just cute and funny (but like, in a cute way - not laugh out loud funny). A good time.
Kanata has worked super hard for her Selection Ceremony. She has one Profession she wants above all else, and she's made sure to do everything in her power to ensure it shows up on the list. Unfortunately, Kanata's version of common sense is more than a little bit off . . . she's longing for the much-reviled Beast Tamer, in her quest for ultimate fluffiness.
This is a comedy, primarily based on the misunderstandings between Kanata and various other characters that run into her. She's basically the definition of overpowered, but she barely notices it, because her excellence was all in pursuit of the one job no one else wants. And once she has it, she wants nothing more than to adopt some cute fluffy thing and spend all day enjoying its company.
Of course, the beast she actually adopts has a rather tangled history, and in a nod to Beauty and the Beast, a curse that he must unravel to regain his true form.
I found the humor a little too forced at points, but overall pretty good. Zaggy works well with Kanata, as they're both kind of dorky. I did love what happened at the end, after the curse is out of the picture---there's one really nice illustration of Zaggy's original form---when Kanata is silently pouting about how things worked out. And he owes her so much he finds a way to give her what she wants, even if it means he's going to suffer for it.
I'm not even sure why this is promising a book 2 in the afterwards, because it all wraps up perfectly well in one volume. If you're in the mood for some humor, this could be worth a shot. I rate this book Recommended.
3.5/5 This was a silly fun little light novel about an over powered girl named Kanata who has an obsession for fluffy animals. This is an Isekai novel that suffers from all of the same tropes of the genre. Though really if not for 5 pages of tacked on story it could have easily not been. The author just uses it as an excuse to make Kanata obscenely overpowered.
Reincarnated into a fantasy world Kanata has the ability to become a god level Saint, Sage, Hero, etc. instead she decides to become a Beast Master the lowliest of all professions. Though with her cheat life in place she’s still god level so that doesn’t make much of a difference anyway.
Her first monster companion turns out to be more then just a magical beast but instead a Demon Lord that’s been placed under a curse.
The novel itself actually kind of wraps itself up in one volume but there’s apparently more coming. It was cute and fun enough that I may give it a go.
It's entertaining and hilarious, but there's not a lot of depth (even if I always enjoy the "strongest and weirdest outlier" humor). It's like 4koma in light novel form. I'll need something closer to a story arc to be invested, I think. Maybe next volume?
