Rate this book
Boa Riverson is a young, tormented man on a mission–he seeks revenge.

The death of his parents and a vicious curse laid on him in his youth has made him hateful against magic and everything related to it. The curse keeps him running across the land, but Boa has sworn to kill those who murdered his parents and cursed him.

One day Boa meets an old warrior, who says she can help him with the curse. Desperate to get help, Boa joins her quest, but during their journey, Boa discovers that his life might have other, bigger but not welcomed, purposes.

To lose the curse and to get away from his tormentors, Boa must work together with Eavan Firestone, a senatai, a user of magic. Can Boa overcome his hatred against magic and all the senatai and will he find a way to get rid of the curse that has ruined his life?

What happens when you mix magic with "no magic, not now, not ever, never". Obviously you get this story and the life of Boa Riverson. His life has been abused and changed forever because of magic. His hate isn't a strong enough word for his contempt of magic, yet to defeat magic requires magic, and so it begins.

The author clearly lays out his life and when learn the forces which drive his future. Turns out that who you know is very important - a life time lesson. Travel with Boa as he learns more than he ever knew, yet much is left unsolved.

I really liked this book. It was well thought out and kept my attention. Boa receives a magical curse at 15, which tortures him for the next 4-5 years. Then in a short span of time he meets 2 women who become important to him in different ways. It’s a fast read. You will enjoy it if you enjoy magic.
