*stand alone novel* When Nadege Lacroix graduated from high school, her parents separated, and she moved with her mother and her sister Lovelie from Haiti to the states, where she then discovered that her mother was pregnant. Nadege and Lovelie played a major part in raising their little sister, Esther and when Esther wanted to leave Charlotte, North Carolina and go to college two hours away, they were hesitant, but they let her go. Esther ventured off on her own and did what most young girls do, she fell in love with an older man. Esther's sisters urge her to leave Money alone, but of course Esther has to learn for herself. What she doesn't bet on is loving the wrong man costing her, her life. Breon Richards is a young, rich street king who has no desire to go to prison. He's simple, humble, and itching to get out of the game. He's the opposite of everything his best friend, Money stands for. When Breon meets the rough around the edges, emotionally detached Nadege, he welcomes the challenge and falls hard for her. Once he learns Na's M.O. he's hurt and feels betrayed. Breon curses himself for falling for the woman so quickly, and carelessly but he soon learns that Money isn't who he thought he was, and wonders if he should back Nadege in her plan for revenge.
Esther was green to a lot and it showed. It makes one wonder what if she'd actually listened instead of going where her sisters told her not to go. Money was as arrogant as they came and I didn't like him at all. I liked Breon because he showed just how different he was. It took some time but he finally realized his so called friend wasn't riding for him the same way a friend would. Nadege was beyond stubborn. She was so caught up in closing her heart until a real man showed her different. I loved how she loved her sisters and didn't hesitate to have their back. Lovelie was down for whatever and it was unfortunate all that she had to deal with because of Russell. Dude really tried it. The road to revenge had a few bumps along the way that resulted in Nadege finding love but karma causing Money to pay the ultimate price.
This book was a wild ride from start to finish! Packed with drama, twists, and unexpected turns, it kept me hooked the entire time. The characters were engaging, and the storyline had just the right balance of tension and excitement. Every chapter left me wanting more, making it impossible to put down. If you’re looking for a gripping read that keeps you on your toes, this one is definitely worth checking out!
I REALLY DONT LIKE STAND-ALONE BOOKS BUT SENSE SHE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS I TRIED IT… IT WAS A GOOD READ AND LONG ENOUGH SO YOUR NOT ASKING A 100 QUESTIONS ONCE ITS OVER… A MUST READ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love Natisha Raynor’s books, and this one is no different. Karma always finds its way back around. Sometimes we just have to sit back, and watch God work!!
I couldn't believe Nadge fell for Breon that fast but they fell for each other hard. Money was so trifling and he got just what he deserved. Loved the ending!!!!
