Alexander lives in an out of the way house in Norfolk. He is recovering from the deaths of his wife and children in a Terrorist incident. He works by predicting the value of precious metals and makes a healthy living from it.
He is formulating what he sees as a ground breaking series of models to accurately predict future events without the need of historical data. If his models worked then he would be in the position of making a lot of money.
After fourteen months of cutting himself from the world Alexander feels it is time to get back to his old life and has invited two of his best friends to stay for a weekend, He is slightly nervous about the weekend but feels it will be a case of him beginning his life for real.
