CassieI'm finally free. Free to make my own decisions and prove to my family that I'm not the problem child they think I am. I'm here to make a change, clean up my act, and be someone all of the Monroes can be proud of. But it's true what they say, old habits are hard to break. That is until Hunter Thompson. Football God, super hot and above all, moral. But he sees me as nothing more than his best friend’s little sister.HunterI’ve almost reached my ultimate goal. After years of hard work and determination, both on and off the field, I’m closer than ever to getting my degree and heading to the big leagues. That means I don’t have time for distractions. I stick to fitness regime, avoid getting drunk every weekend and don’t sleep around. My friends tease me and call me ‘choirboy’, but they just don’t get it. I’m so close, and that’s when the final hurdle enters my life; my best friend and former teammates younger sister. How on earth am I supposed to concentrate when all I can think about is Cassie Monroe?

Thanks to Nicole for the ARC that I was delighted to receive.
I enjoyed this book and loved catching up with the Monroe clan and their friends. The sense of family camaraderie and loyalty in this book is huge and is a strong theme that threads through all of the novels. It could be read as a standalone but I think you would follow it better and get the character nuances more fully if you have read the earlier books. Plus they are great books so why not???
This is Cassie's book. She is the middle sibling with Dylan and Luke being before her and Michael and Gabby after. I felt for Cassie and all she has been through. She always seemed the more distant and troubled one in the other books. She lost her parents when she was 14 and it felt to me that she perhaps struggled more than the others.
Cassie has crushed on her big brother Luke's friend Hunter since first meeting him. He is at the same College but is two years older. Hunter has big plans with the NFL and has had his heart crushed once before. He isn't keen to put himself back out there , but Cassie is quite the force to be reckoned with. This girl is determined. But she's also fragile. She is a free spirit in some ways but has a real need to be with someone in another. She has used sex to feel better about herself but that often has the reverse effect. I found her to be a real mixture of emotions and at times wanted to give her a hug and tell her to just stop putting herself out there and to let love come to her. Hunter is trying to resist but eventually he gives in. He is a really lovely hero and quite the sweetie with a surprisingly passionate edginess. When Hunter is in, he's all in. Loyal , hot, kind and so in love with Cassie.
I really did not like Dani, Cassie's best friend. She is a good friend at times but I did not warm to her at all. I wanted to slap Cam. Hug Vanessa. Have dinner with the whole gang..... The secondary characters are integral in this book and I loved reading about them as much as I did Cassie and Hunter.
Great read and I'm looking forward to more. Could use a little more editing but nothing that spoiled my enjoyment of reading.
First I'd like to thank Nicole for generously gifting me this book for an honest review! And I can say I was honestly not disappointed!
My how time flies with the Monroe family and their group of zany, lovable friends. Cassie has graduated High School but unfortunately she has not graduated that slimy user Brent! I so hoped she would be done with him but some mistakes I guess are worth repeating over and over and over. (Insert snicker) I mean a girls heart and self worth can only be stomped on so many times.
Moving day to college is here and Cassie learns that Luke's college buddies will be coming to help them move her in since she is attending the same college he dropped out of to become partners in business with his brother Dylan and Jax. But his old teammates are still there playing football for the Kanas Wildcats and Cassie has not seen Luke's best friends since Dylan and Brooke's wedding reception. Her crush on Hunter Thompson "football god" has not waned though and she catches herself staring at him on more than one occasion.
Per Luke and Hunter's request to be there for Cassie should she need anything, Hunter is doing his best help her around the campus or with anything really without acting on his attraction for her. He is trying so hard to remain loyal to his best friend Luke and not break the "guy code" of NOT dating a friends little sister. But with Cassie all grown up it's proving to be more difficult than he imagined it would. In trying to help her but keep her at arms length he keeps saying the wrong thing to her and bruising her fragile heart. But Cassie with all her insecurities continues in her quest to win him over. She knows he feels the chemistry and spark between them. While they are on the seesaw of will they won't they, Brent comes to see her and she agrees to go to a party with him. Uhhh, I was so, so frustrated with her!!! Anyway, things happen at the party to drive Nicole to invite Brent back to her empty dorm room. The JERK that he is, after telling Cassie he just wants to talk to her to get her to agree to go out with him, now, just wants to have sex with her and leave. As she lays there, Brent kissing on her and feeling her up, she is comparing him to Hunter and realizes how she wasted so many years on this slimball! When he thinks to get rough and hold her down to have his way in spite of her telling him to stop and leave, she knees him in the groin and then breaks his nose!! Thank you big brother Dylan and Luke for those two moves!! Yes, hear me clapping!! Lol! Finally! Make way now for Hunter to get his girl. But what does he do about his best friend Luke?
There is so much more to happen from this point but I don't want to spoil it for you. You can read this book as a stand alone but you will love it so much more if you start at the beginning of the Monroe saga. You will not be disappointed you did! I love the way Nicole writes the Monroe family and their extended family of friends! She focuses on the main couple but somehow manages to keep you caught up with the rest of the family as well. Thank you Nicole for Cassie's story!! I loved it!
I guess you could say I'm a newbie to Nicole's books. This was my first book by her and it so a standalone. I'd encourage you to read them in order unlike me lol. I didn't know the whole story and how everyone is related and how they all fit into the Monroe family. I will be going back and reading the others as soon as possible! Ok so onto Cassie and Hunter.. Hunter is a football God at KU and has his mind on only that. He is also hurting. He was betrayed by a girl and he hasn't really got the closure he needs. He's a respectful guy with killer loyalty but that's doesn't stop him from wanting Cassie. He knows who she is and who her older brothers are. Cassie, hasn't had the best of luck with guys. She's determined to change that and enjoy college. She wants to prove to her family that she can make it on her own. Sparks fly when she meets Hunter but she knows he's off limits. I absolutely loved these two together! They did the whole friend thing with a couple kisses until they finally realized the attraction was to much. Hunter was awesome! He pushed Cassie into staying on track and didn't want to get to put her dreams on hold for him. I'm not entirely sure she would have done that anyway, she's very strong willed and stubborn. I love the dynamics of the Monroe family and how open they are. They have a huge love and can smart a***s as well. I found myself either swooning or cracking up while reading. The author has a way of drawing you in and making you feel like you're part of the family. I loved every minute of this book and can't wait for more of them!
It's official, Hunter and Cassie are my favorite of the Monroe family. And it's pretty much entirely because Hunter is a legitimately good guy. Not a jerk hiding a heart of gold, or a misunderstood hero - just a good, sweet guy. As with the previous books I've read in this series, as soon as I finish one, it just makes me eager to re-read the previous one, or just full on desperate for the next. If you're looking for an entertaining new adult/college romance, be sure to check out Untouchable!
I'm sitting here trying to write my review for this book but I can't find the words. I have loved the Monroes from the beginning!! The fact that this is Cassie's book had me so excited to read it. When I got it I could not out it down!!
Cassie Monroe, how to explain Cassie, well she is a girl that has had her fair share of mess ups. That doesn't define her though.
Hunter Thompson, oh Hunter. To describe him would be amazingly inaccurate. There is no way to adequately tell you how amazing Hunter is. You will just have to read it.
This book is one of the tamer books in this series but only because there isn't alot of high drama. There are definitely drama moments but nothing as big as the others in the series. It is a refreshing thing to not have my heart ripped out and stomped on just to have it forced back in my chest and expected to work. I love the lightness that most of the book entails. Well done Nicole because this is right along with everything I have come to love from your writing.
4.5 stars! Cassie Monroe's story had all the essential elements for a sweet romance. Although quite young, it's easy to relate to Cassie's struggles with self-confidence - she's strong in many ways, yet full of self doubts. Hunter is the quintessential book boyfriend - practically perfect, Hunter is the type of character who should walk off the pages, be cloned a billion times over, and put an end to heartbroken misery across the globe.
If you enjoy sweet and funny with a side of steamy, I highly recommend Untouchable (and the rest of the Monroe Family Series).
I continue to love the Monroe Family Series from Nicole Dykes.
In previous books we have seen her with an asshole ex boyfriend who just constantly used her and she allowed it to happen. I truly felt that Cassie was misunderstood and at times felt like she wasn't important. I was wondering how Cassie's story would turn out and i was soooo happy that she found someone to love her.
Hunter is such a stand up guy in this one it was hard not to flove him. I think he was exactly what Cassie needed in her life. Not just someone to watch out for her and tell her what to do but someone that would stand by her side and Hunter was just that.
It was great to see the back and forth as Hunter tried to fight his feelings for her, especially knowing that it one of his best friends little sister. It also made for an interesting read when eventually Luke finds out.
Another fantastic read from this series. I am sooo looking forward to the next book.
Nicole is one of those authors that writes books that I have a hard time putting down! Untouchable is the fourth book about the Monroe Family and just as good as the first! In this book you get to read and learn more about Cassie Monroe. Cassie begins her first year in college and is about to learn more about "life" in many ways. Some things in her past have come back to haunt her. While things in her present has her in question. The twists and turns in this book kept me wanting to read more. After you read this book it makes you realize that you can never tell where your life will bring you.
What did i think? I bloody Loved it of course! as I'm reading through this series I keep thinking honestly at some point there's gotta be a book I don't love as much as the last but that's just not happened which is great but still surprising, I just keep getting sucked in and am totally binge reading these, luckily the weather is terrible and I've turned into a complete hermit which is fine as it's given me more time to devour these stories and I cannot wait to start on Alex and Shrillers book!!!
There’s nothing in this world that can keep me from Cassie Monroe. Not even my best friend.
This is just exactly what I need in my romance It hit all the right buttons.
after knowing Cassandra's character in Unsocial, how bubbly and girly her persona is, I'm so excited and anticipate to read her own story. I just have this weird gut feeling that I will love her book, and I'm so totally right!Hunter and Cassie definitely one of my favourite couple, and Hunter definitely meet the Bars for the book boyfriend. I just love everything about this book. Its fantastically written, the family dynamic really adds up to the greatness of this book. I'm bit nervous about the conflict but I'm so glad it was handled maturely. Amazing characterization, especially on Cassandra's character, I like how her character thrives as for Hunter I like that he finally have the closure Overall this might be my favourite book in Monroe's family drama series, and I can't wait to read the rest.
I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Cassie and Hunter were great together. This is my first book by this author, so I didn't have the whole background of the other characters, but it didn't deter from the book. I will be going back and reading the previous books. This was a great story, I loved the whole dynamics of all the characters, they were all just so lovable. I can't wait for more.

Cassie is always making bad decisions. She keeps dating Brent even though he is not a nice person and her brothers hate him. She goes off to college and Cam along with Hunter help move her into her dorm. She has met both of them before because they are friends of her brother Luke. Hunter is trying to uphold the bro code and stay away from Cassie. But when Brent shows up and she is with him he finally takes action. Of course after a black eye he is accepted into the family. I love that Cassie isn't perfect and yet Hunter still loves her because she is who she is. Another great story!
Cassie has so many issues which makes her all the more believable as a character. She’s flawed and that’s what makes her so special.
Hunter is the dream guy. The all amazing catch. I don’t know if I believe his character as much but that’s probably just a jaded reader. I wanted too but somehow he seems almost too perfect.
That doesn’t make the story any less perfect though. Who doesn’t want the hot football god.
Dykes does it again. I wasn't sure what to think about this one. We've seen Cassie growing up, and making mistakes, and we've seen Hunter as the too good to be true, "Choir Boy". Hold on for this one. The relationship development in this one is great. I'm loving this series.
I had been waiting for Cassies story and it did not disappoint. I think I inhaled this book, each book gets better and this family just sucks you right in. Such a great series!
Cassie has done the silly teenage girl thing we are all warned about. Fallen for the a hole who treats her terribly but she can't or rather won't see it or hear anything against him. That is until "choir boy" Hunter catches her attention. After some rather awkward moments they can't resist the pull any more and plan for whatever the future brings for the undecided Cassie and future NFL star Hunter. Good backstory bringing some of the issues from the first few books full circle.
Another 5 star read. Thus one here takes you back to the young lost years of our youth. Cassie's story reminds us if ourselves or someone we knew back then. It gives us pain, sorrow, self-confliction but also strength and a sense of girl power. It's raw and real and definitely worth reading. Another Nicole Classic.
Totally loved this book. So happy got her H.E.A with Hunter. They are totally perfect together. You will fall in love with this couple and family. So good I had to purchase the next book in series!
Contemporary big brother's best friend romance with the younger sister who is now an adult plot. Cassie Monroe is finally getting a new start at college, although there are lots of people from her past and her brother's friends at college with her, but for the most part she can become something new. Hunter Thompson is working hard at college and leading the football team as quarterback while trying hard to not fall in love with his best friend's sister, Cassie. Lots of backwards and forwards with Cassie and Hunter, but it is a cute fluff NA story. Stand alone story, but this is clearly part of a series based on the Monroe family of siblings. 388 pages and kindle freebie 2 stars
Book 4 with the storyline on Cassie Monroe, Dylan's younger sister. This picks up as Cassie goes off to university and runs into Luke's friends Hunter and Cam. They are Luke's friends growing up and at university while playing football. The book is fantastic as always and you feel like you are dropped into the middle of the book and part of their life. It's really well written and I am hoping there is a second book to follow with Cassie as I would love to see what she does with her life.
I absolutely loved this book! This series is awesome! I loved getting Cassie and Hunter's story. We know from the previous books that Cassie is struggling with some things but we don't know the full story. I loved getting to know Cassie better and actually figuring out what was going on. Hunter was one of my favorite characters from Luke's book so I was very excited to find out that Cassie and Hunter were matches. They are perfect together, they help balance each other out. Cassie and Hunter do have some obstacles that they have to get through but they don't have as many as some of the other Monroe's. Theirs are more before they get together and actually starting a relationship than after they do. Cassie has some history that has made things difficult for her and she thinks she's broken. Hunter is someone that she can talk to. They have a connection that makes Cassie feel safe. She wants more with Hunter but they have things standing in their way. Once they get their communication going though, things start working out for them. I fell in love with Cassie and Hunter. They are close to one of my favorite couples in this series, if not my favorite. I was drawn into this book and I never wanted to put it down. I wasn't ready for it to be over! I definitely wanted more Cassie and Hunter. The sex is explicit and it fits the characters. This book can be read as a standalone without issues but you will absolutely love this series and want to read the rest of them after this. I loved getting to catch up with the other family members and the ones that have made family. That is always a bonus. This story will grab you from the beginning and keep you engaged the whole time. You become connected to the characters and never want to leave. This has become one of my favorite series! I can't wait for the next in the series to come out!
I’m not sure I can pick my favorite Monroe characters, Cassie and Hunter are awesome and the story has the right mix of twists and turns and steamy scenes.
Cute and modest Probably not my favourite book in the series. It was sweet and modest. Not too thrilling for me I'm afraid. I was a little disappointed in the story, just lacked some depth for me this time. I honestly love this series and the Monroe family has grown on me and even though I didn't enjoy this particular book in the series, I will still absolutely recommend the series to anyone.
When I first read a Monroe Family book, Cassie was my favorite. She was every girl I knew and I recognized part of myself in her. To see how far she has come and grown puts a smile on my face. If you have read the Monroe family books you will not be disappointed.
As you know.... I am a huge fan of Nicole Dykes. Her writing is out of this world and these books are some of my favorite. I can not tell you how much I enjoy reading these books. I love that each family member is getting their story told and you really get to fall in love with each and every one of them. I do hope she continues to give them all their own story. Cassie and Hunter will have you on the edge of your seat. I totally fell in love with Hunter and admire him for the type of guy that he is. He has done Cassie a world of good.
Cassie has such a big heart and is like a ray of sunshine, I was happy to get her story. Cassie went through something tragic at such a young age so when she hit her teen years it was easy to see why she rebelled and starting acting out. That girl needed her mom and she wasn't there especially as she grew up and entered high school. When she met Hunter she had an instant crush on him and honestly I did too and I was rooting for them the moment they met. Hunter is this sweet guy with high standards and good morals even though his family life growing up wasn't super normal.
Hunter Is Luke's best friend so this relationship was a hard one to enter because they never wanted to hurt each other or have Luke lose his friend. Hunter was perfect for Cassie though as he is protective, sexy and sweet. They struggled trying to tell Luke and he didn't take it well but eventually worked through it.
