Entire village populations in Peru have gone missing...
Ben and Julie and the rest of the CSO crew want to find out why.
Science, religion, and history collide... in a terrifying finale.
The Harvey Bennett Thrillers begins a new chapter with The Cain Conspiracy. If you've enjoyed the series so far, this is one book you will not want to miss.

I finished this one this morning. I've been reading this series out of order, but I was still able to keep up with what was going on. It's a good series. I like it.
I found The Cain Conspiracy by Author Nick Thacker to be a wonderful, exciting read! Ben gets married to Julie and next thing you know they are both off to Peru where things get real dicey very quickly and they encounter a force such as Ravenshadow, and have to battle at times, and Ravenshadow knows no rules of etiquette in battle! They are a force to be reckoned with! Supposed back up well...let’s just say not too hot. Then they find themselves in deep water. (pun intended) No spoilers, but suffice it to say that Ben, Julie and team have never gone against such evil like this before, but are always up for it. Some very evil people doing some very evil things, and that is exactly what Ben Harvey and Julie are very capable of handling, even when in the throes of being prisoners for a time. Fabulous plot, and very developed at the hands of acclaimed Author Nick Thacker in The Cain Conspiracy. Found my heart pounding at times. GREAT BOOK!! Don’t miss it. Once again Author Nick Thacker tackles evil, and does so in a unique way...always!! You’re going to LOVE The Cain Conspiracy!! ENJOY!!!
Book 8 was every bit as exciting and well written as the previous 7 in the Harvey Bennett (etc.) series. Always have a hard time putting these books down once I start reading.
I really liked the premise this time of someone other than Ben pushing for justice (no spoilers). The level of detail throughout the book, shows an amazing commitment to research by the author Nick and is much appreciated by me and no doubt all other readers of his books. His style of writing and plot twists make his books very easy to read and keep the reader guessing and at the edge of the seat right to the very end!
My recommendation is to read all 8 books in the series, it is helpful though, to read them in order, along with the prequels. I have read all Nick's book and enjoyed every one - including those co-written, and look forward to many, many more.
I received an advance reader copy of this book, and I am thrilled to leave a review. As a believer in supporting new talented authors, I have also purchased my own copy of this book.
This story begins in Peru with villagers being captured by soldiers of Ravenshadow. Why is unknown, but has to do with Vincente's scheme. In addition, a higher ranking Vatican official has also arrived in Peru as well. His purpose is to conclude a deal. While this is going on, Ben is getting ready to marry Julie in Alaska.
After the wedding, Julie is planning to go to Peru with Victoria Reyes and she doesn't let Ben know. After she has left, Ben finds a note and aftyer a slight hesitation, starts to make arrangements taking the rest of the CSO team to Peru. The CSO group teams up with a group of Special Ops members for the trip to Peru where there will meet up with Julie.
Once they have arrived in Peru, they all wind up, even the cleric, going to a mountain where all of the action will occur.
If you want to find out why they go to the mountain then you will need to read the book which I highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.
I’ve read them all. This is another great read with the same cast of characters. I guess the next book will introduce some new folks and it will continue to be fast and furious reading to the very end. My only complaint is that consistently the are typos, wrong words or missing words. I do betta reading for some other indies and I think Nick needs to either get better editing or have a betta group help. It’s a shame when the writing is so great.
A Fullerton start to finish! Characters to love and to hate. Love to experience adventure Nick Thacker delivers! Now I go back to my somewhat dry academic books! Until next time the COS needs me to give them life, just as they give me thrills and chills! Thanks Nick!
This is another rip roaring, high octane, thrilling adventure. Ben, Julie, Reggie, et al go after the evil genius, Garza. Garza is holed up in a mountain fortress in Peru building a very special kind of army. This time, he’s unstoppable! Will all of the gang survive the encounter?
This is by far the most thrilling of the Harvey Bennett series. A great combination of thrills and science fiction. I was disappointed when I finished it . I wanted more!
A megalomaniac known as The Hawk, with a lust for control over life itself, is aided by unscrupulous scientists with a similarly total disregard for the lives of the Peruvian villagers he's had snatched and used as test subjects, in Nick Thacker's outstanding mystery-thriller, The Cain Conspiracy. Using an underground mine complex as his base, leads to amazing discoveries by Harvey 'Ben' Bennett, his bride, Julie and the rest of the CSO Team on their most terrifying and cataclysmic mission to date.
Miss it and you'll definitely miss out on a great and thrilling addition to the Harvey Bennett Thrillers series, so go now!
In all fairness, I did enjoy this book but being in the middle of fires & having to evacuate did not let me "relax" into the book. Not the book nor the authors fault but this needs to be honest and every other book has practically taken over because if awesome characters, creative writing and terrific story lines. I'll be re-reading this when I'm not in an emergency and probably enjoy it more. I suggest you give it a try yourself. This author doesn't disappoint. RECOMMEND :)
The next book in the Harvey Bennett series is another nail- biting thriller featuring The Hawk, a more advanced version of the mind control drug from The Jefferson Legacy, Green Berets, double crosses, and fighting 'robots'. Again the church plays a role, and the title only makes sense in the last few pages as we explore history. Another input down able book in this series. Can't wait to read the next one....
Ben and Julie finally tie the knot. But the next morning Ben wakes alone. Julie left a note... Ben, Reggie, Mrs E are on the move and back to Peru. Very action filled. But not a lot of archeology reference. They did find what they were looking for but I won't say more. Do not want this to be a spoiler alert. Great job as always. Thank you. Will be looking forward to reading more of Ben, Julie and the CSO.
Harvey Bennett is a likable character that I have enjoyed following. It is good to see the CSO moving into a new phase of development. It was definitely time for Garza to be done. Watching Ben develop and evolve has been interesting and I look forward to this new phase of the stories.
I’m invested in the Harvey Bennett series, but the AI narration of the audiobooks is atrocious and this has been the worst so far. The narration switches to whispers randomly, has what I can only equate to vocal tics, and occasionally changes cadence to a really creepy voice. There are also tons of mispronounced words, despite being common words (blood pronounced “blue-d,”among many others)
I don’t know how Nick Thatcher can come up with such an imaginative, action packed thriller, but he did. The story started slow but became fast paced and convoluted. Characters well developed, story line easy to follow, lots of shoot-em-out action and suspense. Fun read!
This book is another good read from Nick Thacker. I only gave it a four because in my estimation it got slow in the middle. All in all it is well worth the time to read. P
Nick Thacker books, including the Caine conspiracy, are exciting and will keep you reading all of the books until you finish with no break. Characters are great and become your friends. Absolutely recommend.
Their race to find Garza and kill him leads the group to many impossible situations. Fighting robots and finding out they have been deceived, make matters worse. Non-stop action up through the end.
It was good to see that the character “ The Hawk”, finally got what he deserved in the book. It was great to see how all the books finally tied in with each other!
Great book. Continuous action. I love his Harvey Bennett books. I wish I could read all of them but Amazon is holding some captive unless I buy a Kindle and read them.
Good story; Lousy editing. Nick Thacker needs to engage a better proofreader who will catch when his main characters’ name are misspelled. Lost point for just sloppy editing.
Yet again, another good story with lots of twists and turns. Brilliant how the author has combined AI with medical concepts, all with a very unexpected turn of events for the conclusion.
Another great book by Nick Thacker; exciting and interesting flows along quickly. Can’t wait to read more of the adventures of Ben, Julie and the rest of the team
Excellent book of an adventure inside a mountain in Peru, South America. I don't know if the advances in war fare will ever happen, but it makes for a good read.
