Needs proofing and editing
This could be a really good book, it has a good plot, strong characters and a fast pace, however it needs a huge amount of proofing. The biggest issue is the repetativness- at the end of chapter one she rings her boss to report in and tell him about her sisters murder (he gives her time off to find Ruby) then in chapter five she has to let her boss know and calls to tell him about her sisters murder - again! This happens more than once and it frequently skips about with information that was relevant two chapters earlier added in, almost as an after thought in a random place where it has no relevance. Very confusing and quite frustrating, I read this on Kindle Unlimited, so cost was not an issue but I would not pay for this book.
I find this author's books are either 5 star fantastic reads or 3 star, rushed to write this and didn't bother with proofing and editing! There is a slight risk of which you will get but for me if I can read them on Kindle Unlimited the risk of a bad one is worth it to find the true gem of a 5 star one.
