Tan now serves as Athan. The remaining draasin have bonded. Elle and all of Doma saved. And Par-Shon has been defeated.
Tan knows the victory is short lived. Par-Shon knows how to obscure their shapers, and they could hide anywhere. When Tan discovers Par-shon shapers within the kingdoms, a dangerous and wild elemental is released. As Tan tries to defend his bonds, he learns the terrible history of this elemental, one that the draasin would hide from him. Tan must find a way to protect the elementals, stop the serpent of fire released by Par-shon, while understanding the reason that mysterious Chenir would chose now to send a delegation to Ethea.
I like the author, but it is time for him to finish the series and start a new one. While this book is good, it is beginning to feel like The Wheel of Time series by Jordan. I hope the next book finishes this up and D.K. Holmberg creates a new universe. He has definitely grown as an author and needs new challenges.
I love this series. I like all the characters and the world it's set in. However, it's beginning to feel drawn out with no end in sight. This was a good book with a lot of action but it just didn't go anywhere. There are lots of stories to tell in this world with these characters. I feel it's time to move on from the Par-shon.
Whew the action just gets hotter. Tan is now a full cloud warrior, gifted with the ability to call all the elemental and use their power for his own purposes. Saar is now devouring elemental at a tremendous rate, will the coming together of all the land be enough to stop her?
I just love this author. Every book gets my energy going and makes me feel so good-especially the end. This author has written a series here with 11 books I know of-there may be more-but still manages to end each book leaving the choice up to you to see what happens next. To me, this is a talent not recognized enough. It's a great talent too. I like series, I just don't like authors who end a book with a cliffhanger, trying to insist you buy the next one in line. Many do that and I won't support them. Here is an author who has the sense and the guts to let each book have an ending and if you like it enough, you'll buy the next. Please support this wonderful author and let yourself be completely entertained by all of his writings! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! :) :D
Okay, so this is final book this series that I have to read. Tannen has continued to grow in power and mature as the preeminent warrior of the kingdoms. His affinity for working with and communicating with the elementals has become second nature to him, which is a good thing with the dire enemies he has made along the way. I very much enjoyed reading this original series as it grew on me the more read of it. The only thing I have to say that is not complimentary is about the editing. They were few and far between in the earlier books, but 4-6 found the mistakes multiplying as though his proof-readers went blind. If I have the opportunity to read the later books I will certainly do so.
Once again, I had a lot of fun with this one. These books are never going to be mistaken for literary masterpieces. However, Holmberg is a talented storyteller. I care about the characters, and the plot is always moving along at a good clip, holding my interest.
There were a few editing mistakes in this one, but nothing too distracting.
There is a new big threat, which may or may not have been brought on by the Parshon. Tan is more convinced than ever that the Kingdom will need to ally with long time enemy Incendin to defeat the Parshon. Just when you start to think Tan is maturing, he still isn't ready or willing to make the decision that needs to be made.
This book was SO exciting, especially near he end. As Tan grows in knowledge, he also grows in power and understanding. He is becoming very powerful, but will it be enough?
Holmberg did it again. This great author still manages to continue with some amazing serie
Maybe you have read my review of book five, if not I will say a briefing for you. Not that good, missing something, only three stars. Book five just leave me with the mouth open and not in the good way I was disappointed to see how a great author almost spoiled his complete saga. I was about to stop reading him, but I give thanks because that wasn't the case. This book payed for the suffering that book five gave me. It changed the complete meaning of the saga. If you were to stop reading just think twice before doing it. I was in the same case and I don't regret that mu choice was changed.
I feel that the kingdoms are changing and we begin to understand more things, but still leaving room for more mysteries and doors that are waiting to be opened, doors full of adventure. The Drassin, Kaas, and the astonishing ability of Tan to shape is making this one of my favorite created universe. I cannot wait to discover more.
Loved it! I have absolutely loved the Cloud Warrior Saga, the imagination of the entire series held my attention. It was great to just dive right into the story and get lost, in a very good way. That being said I move on to my thoughts on this series editing. Wait. I said I LOVED it right?? Some of my ratings on these books were four stars instead of the five stars it would have deserved, I will give you a few of the reasons why I think this. The first is editing errors, whomever the "EDITOR" is needs to actually read the books. My next criticism is about how not all the books are marked properly (in the synopsis portion where you read what the e-book is about) with the order in which to read them. Also whomever did that whole debacle with the books order sucks and is off the Christmas list. I unintentionally read a few books out of order due to this. Someone please let all these editor's know not to add in a book later, then call it book 2.5. Holding back such minimal content is annoying, next time put the books that are under a hundred pages together in one book. I would pay extra to have that little convenient option. My last complaint is that I have just downloaded book eight in this series which makes me sad because I do not want the story to end. I highly enjoyed these books, the short little books in the series were more like short stories but that is just typical for me as I read fast. I had hoped the books would get magically longer that what they last more than one evening. Also I will be copying and pasting this review to the other books since it is more of a generalized review, plus it was not a spoiler review either; hate those. Buying any of these books in this series is worth it the imagination of them is great and the adventures are awesomely lively, enjoy!! -rcc
What a ride this series of books has been and Wow. A twist I did not expect at all. I wonder if there will be a benefit from this, I am not sure what it might be yet. It's been a while since I have read a series that captivated me from the first book. The depth of the characters, the neverending plots and twists, as well as the additional surprises and cliffhangers, make me want to know exactly what happen to Tannen in every book. On to the next. Great Reading Everyone!!!
This book felt shorter and the themes seemed to feel repetative as well. Still, a good story continuation and I'll continue reading the series, although it's not in my top books I've read, it is entertaining. The character developement doesn't seem to be very natural but rather plot driven in that the character acts and reacts how the author needs him to depending on where the story arc is heading.
Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. A twist I did not expect at all. I think there will be a benefit from this, although I am not sure what it might be yet. I am going to have to read Mr. 7 to find out!
