I really enjoyed this book right until the 80% mark. It started out great With Ezra and Jasper's pranks and then slowly falling in love. I really liked both Ezra and Jasper. And the little town and the people living there. It was a great introduction to the town, the people and following book. What happened to Leo and why does he not have his own book yet?

So far, so good. Right? Well, yep. I would say that there wasn't a lot of plot happening that far and I was scared that something crazy would happen at the last part. Still hoping for it not to happen. Of course it did. The last part was suddenly filled with drama, and miscommunication. Ezra was acting slightly out of character and Jasper didn't do much. And everything was resolved way too easily and way too fast for my liking.

With a different ending and a little bit of editing this could have been a five star read.

This is the first time reading these authors. I was going through my FB Daddy/kink group and came across their second book Unexpected which is an MMM. So I thought why now read the first one because the characters continue into book two.

That being said, Ezra and Jasper are both opposites attract and I love how vulnerable they made them be. There are some triggers in the book like mental health issues just be aware. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Baker Ezra and bar owner Jasper are neighbours who don't really get along. This begins a prank war between them.
Slowly their relationship blossoms.
A good story that kept me engaged. I liked the characters and their friends.
A sweet story of made family with an endearing small town feel.
My only gripe was how a broken collar bone was treated with a cast??
I do look forward to more of this series.

This was a nice book and I enjoyed their little prank war. I hated how hard Ezra’s life has been and was glad to see him find the support and family he has been missing.

There were some inconsistencies throughout the story, I can’t remember anything specific at this time but I remember thinking, “that’s not what they said before” a few times.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

Sexy, fun, sassy, & sweet. This was such a fun lighthearted book with some parts that really tugged your heartstrings. Ezra and Jasper had instant chemistry and their relationship developed well.
A great allrounder for an easy read.

Okay not great

Standard alternating first person POV. Quaint, feel-good romance. Wierd commas. Some of the "drama" is a stretch, even for a sappy romcom. Could have been shorter, lots of filler. I liked some of the side characters better than the MCs.

Collegiate like immaturity.

These two are supposed to be adult men but their theatrics beg to differ. This book just
didn't click with me. This is an honest review for ARC provided to me by LesCourt Services.

No ratings. It was almost a dnf.

It’s the first time it took me 3 days to finish a book.
This is a very big disappointment, I had such high expectations and I was really excited to read it.
Jasper is kind of a manwhore and Ezzra is pinning over another man.
Jasper and Ezzra were never really ennemies and most of the pranks ( they were just a few) are lame and childish. The last one the auction Ezzra and Leo secretly organized in Jasper’s bar wasn’t really one, it was a good action for sure it has nothing of a prank. And since when Bachelors can bid on the others bachelors?
I started to like Ezzra in the beginning and I had hard time with Jasper but in the second half I warmed up to Jasper and disliked Ezzra and I ended up not liking both of them. Ezzra is supposed to be in his late 20’s but he looked like he was 18-19 years old. Jasper was okay though.
I didn’t really connect to them and I haven’t feel anything between them. The sex wasn’t bad but still.
Others things that really bothered me and pushed to put the damn book down for 3 days... Everyone in the town instead of wanting them to get together, they pushed Jasper and Ezzra to fuck each other and then move on soft lives. I didn’t even feel any sexual tension.
Ezra went out for dinner and to a gay club same (at something like 4pm :rolling eyes” ) with Leo and Jax, he didn’t invite Jasper whereas they had already thing between them but instead he sent him a picture of the 3 or them trashed and dancing. Jasper acted like was jealous and possessive but I didn’t feel it.
The stupid miscommunication and Ezzra’s ridiculous behavior. He dumped Jasper without a word when a friend of Jasper, Levi came out of nowhere ruined their date and it turned out to be the boy who made go through hell in one of the Foster homes. He stormed out and Jasper didn’t follow him to try and talk him, instead he hang out out with Levi and let stay with him in house while knowing that Ezzra hated him.
Jasper didn’t bother to check on Ezzra when he disappeared for 3 days after the break up and he lives just next to him. When Ezzra had his panic attack and was hospitalized for a few days, he refused to see Jasper and after they fixed things and told him he needed him, he didn’t want to see Jasper for a week! I didn’t like how everyone forgave Levi easily after he explained why he acted like that with Ezzra when they were young in that foster home but it wasn’t enough.
When Jasper’s father invited Ezzra to their Sunday’s family diner for the 1st time that supposed to be a meet the family, he invited all son’s friend because he wanted to Jax. It’s pathetic how these two became into each other in no time. They weren’t friends, they have never talked to each other and they have never looked to each, never. It doesn’t make sense. Does you weren’t supposed to invite the whole town. It’s a meet with your sons boyfriend to get to know to him better.
There was too much hints about them being the next couple in the next book,. I checked it and I was right but I was chocked to find out it’s an M/M/M book about Jasper’s 10000% straight father and his son’s 2 young friends Jax and Talon.
I have nothing against father/son’s bff I like this trope but being straight your whole life and suddenly out of the blue you decided to become gay or bi just like that and you jump into a relationship with your son’s bartender/friend and his bff it’s not believable. It’s even creepy and disgusting. I’ve never warmed up to that pig anyway.
What next? The 3rd book and M/M/M/M about Leo, Corny, Micah and the other Jasper friend I forgot his name?

I wanted Jax to end up with Leo. I’m done with serie.

I highly don’t recommend.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

I love small town MM romance series. The close-knit relationships and individuals personalities all finding a home with each other just makes for a great read. Pranked by J.J. Riley and Suki Gale is the start of a new series that I can already say I'm a fan of.

"Who would have known that one prank could lead to the rest of my life?"

Ezra is a baker who's a bit emotional scarred from his time spent in foster care. His fondest memories are from baking with his mom before she passed and that why he's happiest baking loaves of bread and apple pies. His profession has made him an early bird, and he's less than thrilled with the bar that opened up next door or its sexy owner, Jasper. Jasper moved back to his hometown after struggling in professional settings to open up a bar in hopes of turning it into a pub someday. After Ezra complains about the noise from his bar he is surprised when the baker starts a friendly game of prank wars. The prank wars bring these two opposites together, and they end up with deeper feelings than either expected.

"I'm not always boring, you know."
"I never thought you were. It's always the quiet ones you have to look out for."
"True. Quiet bakers have been known to start prank wars."

I adored all the characters in the story. From our leading men Ezra and Jasper to the friends and family that surround them. Jasper was sexy as f*ck and Ezra was a cinnamon roll whose cuteness made me smile. Some of their interactions were a little corny and cheesy but the sexual chemistry between them was on fire. {there's a certain scene with a pool table that will leave you hot and bothered} Their storyline was fun and kept my attention and the ending required one of our heros to emotionally hit rock bottom to achieve self growth. Overall the book has a well-rounded plot that stayed interesting and had the perfect happily ever after for Ezra and Jasper.

"I pressed my lips against his , the kiss demanding and full of things I couldn't process right now."

Pranked is a small town MM romance with silly pranks, friendships and emphasis on family being what and who you want it to be. I'm already coupling off all the characters in my head and can't wait for the future books in the Echo Bay series.

Great start to a new year of reading! I really, really enjoyed this book. It’s got everything. It starts out as a light rom-com, enemies to lovers book and you think you are getting a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form and then BAM! Major angst! And I am including that in the beginning on purpose not as a spoiler but as a warning. The blurb I read did not indicate the level of angst or its reason and it could seriously be a trigger for some people so be advised.

The MCs here are Ezra, the owner of a bakery in the town of Echo Bay and Jasper, the owner of the bar next door. When noise from Jasper’s bar annoys Ezra and he becomes increasingly irritated with Jasper he enlists the help of his best friend Leo to prank him. This instigates a prank war that is amusing and devious. Of course, this being a romance book the MCs fall into a relationship that is going well despite some baggage, especially from Ezra. When the crisis moment comes it’s a biggie and its heart wrenching. The authors do a sensitive job of portraying what occurs and while difficult to read it is superbly written.

The story arc moves well and the secondary characters are great. It is clear that there is going to be a lot to build from for this series. I love a book with strong secondary characters that help to propel the story. It’s especially important when building a series that the reader becomes invested in the people and setting. The authors seem to recognize that they are not just building this story but stories to come and the start of the world building pulls the reader in. Lots of characters appear to have secrets and stories to tell. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series. Strongly recommend.

*I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my objective review *

This is a really entertaining read with a lot of fun, heartwarming times mixed with a couple of lower moments with a character much in need.
There is a great cast of characters that really pull together in moments of need but also know how to have fun especially with the prank war that starts up between Ezra and Jasper when Ezra is pushed over the edge with the noise level coming from Jasper's bar. Several laugh out loud moments! Right alongside the lightheartedness of the story is an undercurrent of anxiety that Ezra lives with constantly but, when triggered, causes extreme distress (I'd call reader's attention to this if they have ever dealt with deep depression and/or breakdowns). The author's use their words in such a way that you are drawn to and feel with the character as they are experiencing low moments but also doesn't from your enjoyment of the story and knowing that the friends that are family around them will band together and support their own.
There is a hot chemistry between Jasper and Ezra. I love how they start out as low level enemies and it slowly but surely develops into something more that neither man was expecting. The group of people included in this story really pull it together for me, such a wonderful show of family, friendship and the support that they provide whether expected or not. Some possible relationship for future stories also crop up and I can't wait to see who is next up in the Echo Bay series.
This was such a wonderful story to read. A small town romance with banter, pranks, heat and romance with a dash of drama and mental health seriousness to bring the story back to earth. Definitely a recommendation from me and looking forward to book 2.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I like the writing style of this author. This book is setting up for a series in a small town with several interesting people. With that said for me this is a 1🌟 spoilers ahead.

For business owners they are both acting very childishly. Bakery owner sound proof your bedroom. Bar owner since you obviously know people in construction offer to sound proof. Problem solved. Ok I know this is supposed to be about a prank war. The first one was a prank that didn't impact the bar's business. Poppers under the mat. The retaliation with the flour, even though he bought an extra bag of flour, I still did not think was ok. It interfered with his business. Then to set up an event on Craigslist it totally will impact the bar's business and possibly reputation. That's when I stopped reading.
Being constantly told that I have no sense of humor and it was just a harmless prank when I was picked on in school gives me a different view of pranks I guess. For example when I had surgery and went to school with crutches some ####%#%# took them and my backpack and hid them. Leaving me trapped at the lunch table. Two years later, another surgery with crutches, the support pin was removed in class. Both times I was told they were harmless pranks and I needed to get a sense of humor. I did not agree. Both incidents could have resulted in me getting hurt. This book was bringing all those memories and feelings of helpless fear up.
So I guess this author is really good to dredge those feelings up and if I was a professional reviewer I would give it a higher rating. But since I rate for me and whether I want to re read my system says as a dnf this gets a 1🌟.

The good:
*I loved Ezra and Jasper and their romance. They’re a total case of opposites attract which is always fun in my book
*The supporting characters. Even if I didn’t like this story so much I would probably stick with the series for the side characters stories. I want to see Daddy King and Jax get their happy ending (together please!) and I can just tell Talon is gonna hit all my favorite things about a character (even with the very little we got from him). Plus found family is one of my absolute favorite story lines.
*The light fluffy story interspersed with some harder hitting issues. I thought this was done really well so that neither was ever too much.

The not so good (but not bad either!)
*There were some minor continuity issues that pulled me from the story. I’m not one to notice grammar or spelling so this was definitely odd for me to feel.
*the prank war. I Know, I know, this is the whole premise of the book, but I just felt the pranks were either super lackluster or not really pranks at all. The charity auction in particular just had me like what??
*the lack of Jaspers backstory. The blurb made it seem like his failed business ventures were going to affect his character arc in a more major way, but it is very briefly touched on.

Like I said, I enjoyed the story a lot and will be looking forward to reading the rest of this series!

This is a great start to a new series with engaging characters and an intriguing storyline. There are some wonderful and hilarious moments in this story as well as some painful and heartbreakingly sad ones. Ezra has not gotten over his very difficult childhood and he still struggles with anxiety. Luckily his best friend Lou, who is wonderful, is there to support him. Jasper is compassionate and caring toward Ezra and truly wants the best for him. They are perfect for each other and I like how their relationship evolves from enemies to a lot more. Even though they have some difficult issues to deal with their strong connection and Jasper's unwavering support should help get them through the bad times. They also have some incredible friends and most of Jasper's family there for them. I love the secondary characters and I look forward to seeing more of them as this series continues. I do wish that the author had given more background information about Jasper and Ezra as I think that would have made the story even more enjoyable. The ending is great and I can't wait to read the next book in this new and exciting series.

Pranked is the first book in the Echo Bay series by JJ Riley and Suki Gale.

It's the story of two men who get to know each other through pulling pranks. I hate pranks, as in think they are evil. But, these ones are great in that they don't harm one another.

Jasper and Ezra come together in a tender love story. These two men butt heads at the beginning, but in the end, they are so wonderful together.

This is the story of a man affected by his past, never able to get beyond it. There are painful memories as he struggles to put the past behind him.

The authors excel in their illustration that everyone has something they're ashamed of; everyone has their demons. They clearly explore that what one does in the past is just that and that the past does not define us.

Don't be fooled though. Despite it's heavy and serious lesson, this story is full of humor, light-hearted and feel good moments.

Pranked is a story showing that learning to listen, understand, and forgive makes everything better. And most of all, this JJ Riley and Suki Gale tale is one of family. The story is meaningful and poignant, as well as delightful. I am impressed and can't wait for more from this small town.

Pranked is the first book in the Echo Bay series by authors, J.J. Riley and Suki Gale. This book is written in dual pov.
There is a lot of love in this book. The chemistry between the characters is both believable and cute. The pranks just made me smile. This is the kind of romance I like not too heavy and just the right amount of fun.
Ezra is a morning person. He owns the local bakery. He is not into the clubbing scene. Too bad for him the local bar is his neighbor. He has been bounced around a lot as a kid in and out of foster homes. His best memory is with his mom and taking him to the bakery.
Jasper is good-natured. And very much a night owl. He owns the local bar. His parents had suggested he move back to his small hometown when living in the big city did not work out for him. His dad is the local sheriff.
He is a really laid back, kindhearted soul. He has a thing for the local nerdy-looking baker.
Jasper needs to take things more seriously in his life, and Ezra needs someone to loosen him up a little. The cute pranks they play on each other leads to much more for both them. Sometimes love is very unexpected.
I loved this story and cannot wait for more stories in this series.

The book is well-written and well-edited and the premise is interesting. The book also had a good bit of world building and sets the scene for the next books in a seamless and unobtrusive way. Those are the good parts. I'm not a huge fan of hurt/comfort, and the drama at the end did quite frankly seem to come out of left field and wasn't particularly believable. I was in foster care for six years after my parents died, and I am so weary of books the continuously demonize foster care. I quite literally do not know any foster families who ever behave the way they're portrayed in novels, and yet the stigma persists. It's not a perfect system, caseworkers and families are overworked and overwhelmed due to lack of funding and lack of willing families, but no one gets into fostering to get rich and all the families I've met certainly have good intentions. That is the annoying bad part. I think I would read the next book in the series despite my pet peeve in novels being present in this one, so I suppose that's a recommendation.

Heavy topics, sweet romance

Finally. Authors who address mental illness! Going on this journey with Ezra as he was able to find himself, heal himself, was inspiring. As someone who works in the mental health field, I feel this topic was done perfectly. The insecurities, the self sabotaging, the anxiety and panic, so many people suffer from these things and we need more people talking about mental health! By remaining silent all we are doing is perpetuating negative stigma. Ezra was very brave to seek treatment. I was so happy for him! He took control back from PTSD and was finally able to live. :)

Jasper was such a great character who had a lot of depth. The steamy scenes were on fire! His family cracked me up, and I loved Daddy King- I will be anxiously awaiting his and Jax’s story! All of the supporting characters were fantastic. Leo was hilarious and I could picture him in my mind often.

Great intro into the world of Echo Bay.

Creative ideas, sweet moments and some intense angst.  Echo Bay and two home town men working to create their dreams, crash into each other as their worlds and businesses collide. Both MC's are likable and as the reader we can see their similarities and i was rooting for them. I enjoyed these MC's and the supporting characters are great.  The story-line was solid and the writing flowed.

Jasper and Ezra are really perfect together with lots of chemistry.  There is a lot of growth they need to experience and some heartbreaking moments that will hurt your heart.  There are some characters introduced that i would love to know more of their story.

This is book one in the Echo Bay series and i will be looking for the next one.

I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

This was such a cute and fun read, and I adored both Jasper and Ezra. The prank war started out as a bit of fun because I don't think they can really be called enemies. It's more of a general annoyance (mostly on Ezra's part), and when they start pranking each other, it's in a playful way that quickly leads to their mutual tension boiling over. If I wasn't already loving them at this stage, the way Jasper acts all possessive and sweet at the surprise auction is downright gorgeous. It was this moment that had me completely invested in them.

Pranked is a great start to this new series! It is a great opposites-attract romance, with a cute geek, and an outgoing playboy who is surprisingly sweet and utterly protective. It's also fairly light and drama-free, with only a touch of angst before a heartwarming HEA.

Let me preface this by saying I’m absolutely in book love with Ezra and Jasper. These two are #couplesgoals. I was all in on this book, except for Levi. He’s a terrible bff. Oh hey, my best friend suffers from crippling anxiety so I’m going to throw him under a bus publicly. Bad, bad Levi. I say WAS all in, until the end when **SPOILER PEOPLE** Ezra’s crippling anxiety was fixed by some voodoo magic and all is better and fixed. Because that’s how it goes. Snap of the fingers. Severely disappointed. I can’t even get out of the funk the ending of this book put me in. I’m not sure it was the intention of the authors (one whom I’m new to and one whom I adore immensely) to downplay anxiety such as this, but it definitely hurts my soul. 😭

kay I’m kinda being a bitch by posting this review but these authors needs praise! This book is no longer available on the ZON however I snagged A copy before it was pulled and finally read it.

This was my first full MM book. I’ve read MM in harem and ménage books but never just MM. Im obsessed like send me all your MM recs….

Ezra was freaking adorable and so sweet and I loved Him oh so much. Jasper was such an alpha and so sexy but so sweet towards Ez.

Leo OMG i love him he’s such a good friend and I wish He had his own book.

Talon just seems sexy and mysterious. Jax is a wildcard for me I dont Know a lot about him yet but he’s tender and I like That and I think He’s gonna get Daddy King to the dark side.

Gideon is a fuckstick…..

I Received ARC from Author for Honest Review.
I Give This Book A 3.5/5 Star Rating, listing as 4.

HEA(?): Yes! I just wish there was a Part 2 to that epilogue.
Romance: 3.5-4/5
Heat: 3-3.5/5
Drama: 3.5/5
Suspense: 3/5

It did take me a bit to actually get a good feel and rhythm of the book, it felt a bit...clunky in the beginning.
It started like every other bakery romance I’ve read. After I got over that I really enjoyed the rest of the book. The pranks didn’t stand out to me as much as I was expecting them too, some I almost missed it and had to reread to catch it.
But other than that I really did enjoy this book :)
I definitely will read more from both these authors :)

I loved the storyline two men who had one thing in common the loss of their mothers, Ezra and Jasper had instant chemistry, took a few pranks before their first date. This story flowed I read it in one day, had to know what was happening next. So many loveable characters, Liam Jaspers dad, Claire Jaspers sister and her two girls, Leo best friend to Ezra, Jax and so many others. The intimate hot sexy scenes between Ezra and Jasper scorched my kindle. I can’t wait to see who’s story will be next.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I definitely recommend this book.

Pranked is a sweet, sexy read.
Jasper and Ezra are a lovely, passionate couple and their romance moved along like one of those cheesy holiday movies that Exra loves so much.
The secondary characters are interesting and I saw several that I would like to see get their own book.
I wish that the pranks had played a bigger part throughout the story.
All in all, I liked this book. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to slap the crap out of one of the characters. The sexy times are well done and I am I'm confident in their HEA.
I look forward to the next book in this series.

This is my first book by JJ Harper and Suki Gale but deffinatly not my last, what a great start to a new series. I own a bakery and have long early days between baking and running my shop so I really look forward to my quiet nights. That is until the owner of the bar next door decides to turn the music up, Jasper can be very agravating at times but he's also very cute. I decide to get even with him for calling me out about filing a noise ordinance complaint about the music by starting a prank war, just a little fun between us and maybe if I'm lucky this could lead to a little more, I really hope so. Really enjoyed this fun fast paced well written story, it was so good.
