This story could have been so good, but ended up being superficial. Juvenile behavior when one simple conversation could have solved everything. Drama to create more drama.

Paige is a rich kid living off her parents rock star money. She was raped by her high school bf, but she doesn't tell anyone. This creates series issues for her when he is hired as the replacement drummer for her brother’s band. No one understands why she’s acting so awful around him.
Adam is the man who bought “Lucy” the red guitar at auction out from under Paige. She is furious and hates him. They meet up three years later. He’s a cop, but his job is barely mentioned in the story.
Paige and her mother are in a car accident while running from said high school bf one night out at a bar, this is not really explained well. Her mother dies.
Paige sinks into a funk, and is melodramatic. Driving out to California to find drug addicted younger brother...and maybe herself?
That’s where she meets Adam again. They are instantly attracted and sparks fly. They hookup. The sex is written very well! She feels like it’s love. She’s called to play in brother’s band for three months. Drama with ex, drama with Adam. He’s a jerk, plays the I’m-just-not-gonna-text-you blame game. It’s stupid.
She buys the house Adam always wished he could purchase with her mother’s life insurance. Pays her (now clean) younger brother to fix it up.
Adam dumps her. She’s a mess. Adam changes his mind. She’s happy. Adam says nvm, I don’t want to do this with you. She’s so sad. Decides to sell house. Adam is there and wants a do-over. Blah blah blah. End of.

OMG. This book took my emotions on a joy ride that didn't slow down until Paige's well deserved HEA.
Right from the start Chasing Lucy hooked me. The auction scene was hilarious and the spider scene -- OMG! -- by far my favorite scene. I loved, loved, loved every character in this book. Paige and Adam have a chemistry that is off the charts and Adam is such a sweetheart! Paige's brother Declan is H-O-T and there had better be a spinoff in the works on that bad boy I tell ya!!!!!
I won't give it all away, but this story follows Paige Sawyer as she's tested again and again. And again. This book left me wanting more. I was sad when it was over but it was such an emotionally satisfying ending so I was happy. This is a standalone book but you can tell it is open for spinoffs. Remi and Sadie, yes please. Declan--puh-lease, he deserves love, y'all. And JAXON! Oh, Jaxon how could I forget about you. He is such a sweetie and there are hints of trauma in his past. So much potential to continue this story!!!

This is one of those times I'm glad I read an authors newest book first. I've really enjoyed her Naked in New York series. But this, her first book, sadly, just wasn't for me on any level.

Paige and Adam have such a great story. It's not your typical rockstar romance -- it's so much better! Plus, Adam is the sweetest and the steamy scenes are hot stuff. Great book!

I loved the entire book. Paige went through so many things that it shows you she just couldn’t make a decision on her behalf. She does have a lot going on and it was very overwhelming to her. I appreciate her going through all of it even if it hurt her. Buying and redoing the entire house was truly a blessing, it made her brother stand and fight his demons with drugs that shows us anything is possible. Eric coming to her aide about being rape was great for Paige to let it out and let it heal herself. I’m glad Paige and Adam were able to get past all there misunderstandings to find each other.

CHASING LUCY is the kind of book that makes you brag about being a romance fan. Peyton gives a witty, emotional and just awestruck story. The auction scene just had me, I loved it!
Unforgettable characters who have the kind of story that gives you all "the feels". I want to say more but I don't want to spoil anything. Peyton James is a new author that you HAVE to get to know!! She's witty, sexy and funny and bound to deliver everytime.
I loved Chasing Lucy. It was a perfect mix of romance, steam and emotions. That scene at the auction is to DIE for. The characters were loveable and the ending purrrffffeect.
You have to give Peyton a go. Trust me. You have to!!!

This book pulled me in from the start. Also a reason for this is, because I love music myself, therefore love reading about guitars and this book has everything. A definite 5 stars read. This was my first read from this author and I will definitely read more in the future.

The cover art piqued my interest and the auction bidding war sealed the deal. This book was hilarious but it also brought tears to my eyes at certain points...and lets not forget the steam factor!! Paige and Adam are the ‘it’ couple. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books by this author!!

This is the 1st book I've read written by Peyton James; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

WOW.....I loved this book by Peyton James! Paige Sawyer and Adam Matthews bid for Lucy, a red guitar, at an auction and Adam outbids Paige. Their romance starts out rocky but ends up sizzling. I highly recommend this well written book by Peyton James since it is an addictive read you can’t put down.

This is a great read with an awesome storyline that has well developed and engaging characters that have lots of chemistry. The smooth flow of the storyline makes for a good reading time.

I thoroughly love this story! It's hooks you from the beginning and keeps you glued until the end. It's a perfect blend of emotions flowing from angst, to humor and more. I absolutely love the characters! Paige and Adam deserve the happiness they found. What a great read!

I Loved this book! It started with an auction for 'Lucy' a rare bright red guitar which Paige had set her heart on, only to be outbid by a gorgeous but annoying guy called Adam who was not averse to playing dirty to get what he wanted. The auction scene was so funny and helped set the pace for the rest of the book. The relationship between Paige and Adam (the main couple) started off rocky, see above re: auction scene LOL but I could see that they would be great together. But before happiness sets in, poor Paige goes through some difficult times and that means angst… ugh! But she manages to push through and comes out the other end in fine form. She is one tough cookie! I am not going to give anything else away so you will have to buy a copy and see for yourselves. I highly recommend this book which has feels galore! I know this is a standalone but I would love to see books for the guys in Paige's brothers band Twisted Axle. As far as I am concerned there can never be enough rock star books!

Great from beginning to end!
From the opening scene I was immediately sucked into this story. It's at turns funny, sexy, exciting and heartbreaking. A great rock and roll love story that hits all the emotions you would expect in this type of romance but with so much depth and intention that it made me root from Paige and Adam from the start. They are fun, sect , smart and sexy without feeling predictable. Even the side characters are enjoyable and add to the story. I know this is a stand alone romance, but I would love to see more of the Tandem Axle crew get stories of their own.
Overall, loved this book.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the author via StoryOrigin. Another book by Peyton James is another book to fall in love with. I loved this book from start to finish. Peyton is an incredible story teller, who really makes you feel like part of the book. This was funny with a great story line, and I was so sad when there were no more pages to read. I could not stop reading it, and Peyton has proved that she is not a one trick pony with her writing. Great writer, great book, 5*

Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. The short story of eroticism of sensation. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.

This was a great read! So flawless, I liked everything. Or.... maybe not so much all those moments I felt frustrated, anxious, sad etc. This raised so many emotions and I was genuinely releaved in the end.

1st time reading a book by this author and I wasn't disappointed. It was fast paced and there were so many scenes that hit me in the feelers. The chemistry between Adam and Paige is instantaneous and it definitely has quite a few steamy parts. I read the whole book in 5 hours and I really liked it, like I said very fast paced easy read.

For as unrealistic as it was, this book was super endearing and you can’t help but to love Paige. The book has some heavy subject matter, but overall it’s cute. I did have a problem with Paige not calling out Brayden and continually taking his crap till the end…. But I guess that’s what drove the story.

Such a great love story with hidden secrets and personal growth. I really enjoyed reading this story and the trials the characters have to go through to get where they want.
