Book 2 in the Love on the Ice series. Loved this quick read. Gianna was being hit on by her boss and when Deke walked up pretending to be her boyfriend so she could get away. She never thought that would turn into something much more real. Great chemistry and attraction between them.

A great addition to this series Only one thing that I am a bit unsure about Why is the book called Deke ehen it is about Jax Brody and Gianna Nichola
Jax has a reputation for been a bad boy hockey player but since he ca,e to the Armadillos he is trying to change that but he can't help stepping up to help a woman been harassed by a guy in a bar That woman is Gianna and the man is her boss and she is stunned when Jax offers to pretend to be her boyfriend. What she doesn't know is that he knows she is the one for him from that first sight and he is determined to do whatever he has to in an effort to keep her. Will they get a HEA doe she feel the same way about him You will have to read to see

Love the way Jax and Gianna meet! It’s so chivalrous, and it melts Gianna’s heart. Once they realize this “thing” between them is something more than just a fling. It’s their forever. Really enjoyed the development of their love and friendship... you can feel the relationship growing. Another one of those stories that you wished never ended.

This is a well written insta love quickie with strong characters and a hot and steamy chemistry. I loved the characters and enjoyed the story line. Great novella for a quick read.

So sweet, sassy, and sexy! It starts as a fake relationship. You know how it goes. Girl is cornered by an obnoxious creepy guy. Hero walks up and acts like her date who's late. Yeah. In this case Gianna knows exactly who Jax is and his reputation. That proves to be a non-issue. ;-) I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The Bad Boy Player gets "deked" by the curvacious damsel in distress
Jax Brody is a professional hockey player with the Austin Armadillos. This bad boy player has one very bad reputation from when he was younger. But sometimes he just needs a bit of peace and quiet and that is what he is after, along with a beer, when he is sitting at his happy place, The Lone Star. The only problem is that at the other end of the bar this is a guy that just will not take no for an answer from a very gorgeous, curvy young woman with wavy blonde hair and big blue eyes. So he decides he needs to step in to save this beautiful damsel in distress and maybe get a nice reward.
Gianna Nichols is a waitress at Romanoff's Steak House. While she is at The Lone Star her boss Paul, while actually the owner's gross son, just will not back off and keeps invading her space and touching her. It seems Paul has a reputation for inappropriate behavior with the waitresses but especially with Gianna. When out of no where she finds local hockey star Jax Brody slipping between Paul and herself and pretending to be her boyfriend, being late to meet her. Paul takes the hint quickly and high tails it out of the bar but soon Gianna gets a text from Joanna, one of the owner's of Romanoff's, wondering if Jax would be willing to come to the restaurant for some publicity. Well Jax can't let a damsel in distress down and especially when she looks like Gianna. So he agrees to come to the restaurant the next day when she is working and pretend to be her boyfriend.
Gianna is not sure exactly what Jax's ulterior motives are for agreeing to be her pretend boyfriend but that all goes out the window pretty quickly when he shows up and lays a hugely passionate kiss on her and she just melts. But her insecurities come back later that night when he comes back to pick her up after work. After all she thinks - what does he want with me when he looks like him and has dated models. But for Jax there is no comparison and she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He has liked woman and had a fun life but no one was every important or mattered until her. He will just need to show her just how serious he is, which he does over and over and over again until she loses count.
Deke is a fast-paced and oh so sweet and sassy well written short story. The characters are wonderful and the sizzling connection is fabulous. I really enjoyed Deke and recommend it to other readers.

I liked this short hockey romance. The characters were interesting and I liked the story.
Jax is a star hockey center but despite his reputation, he has a gentlemanly streak. While out at a bar, he sees a beautiful woman dealing with a guy that apparently doesn't understand that no means no so he steps in. After Jax finds out the guy is her creepy boss, he offers to pretend to be her boyfriend.
Gianna is a curvy waitress that is trying to deal with her creepy boss when Jax Brody, the star hockey player, steps in and saves her. After he saves her, he offers to pretend to be her boyfriend. Gianna isn't sure why he would offer that, but after getting to know him, she knows that he's a nice guy. Now she just hopes that she won't end up getting hurt.
The way Jax stepped in to help Gianna was awesome. I liked that he followed through when things escalated. I loved that Jax told Gianna that she was beautiful and then showed her how he felt about her. Gianna being willing to go with it and not fighting Jax and the way she felt was awesome. I loved their happy ever after. I definitely recommend reading this book.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Love on the Ice series.Int his book, Jax is a professional hockey player who is at a bar where he sees a young woman very uncomfortable with a man hitting on her. Jax decides to go to her rescue and pretend to be her boyfriend who just arrived. Gianna is shocked to have Jax show up claiming to be her boyfriend, but her boss gets the hint and leaves her alone. When her boss tells his parents, the owners of the restaurant where Gianna works, that she is dating Jax, they want him to go to the restaurant to make an appearance. Jax agrees, mainly because it will give him another reason to see Gianna. Jax is very attracted to Gianna and would love to date her for real, now he only has to convince her he is serious. I loved this instant love story. I loved Jax, he had a great sense of humor and he really cared for Gianna. Great one.

Gianna is at the bar. She is trying to relax after a long day of work. But one of her managers Paul, is there bothering her. Sad to say Paul cannot be deterred because his mom owns the bar. Sigh. Jax is sitting across the bar and he’s trying not to be aggressive when he notices that she is making very subtle and some blatant movements about not wanting to be by him and Paul continues to talk to her as if nothing is going on. Jax has had it he is now there to help. Jax is willing to allow and introduce him self as her boyfriend. Next thing you know being a fake boyfriend doesn’t seem so bad. No cliffhanger. A nice quick story for a coffee break.

I enjoyed this "Love on the Ice" story! It's a fairly quick read with a sexy hockey player and curvy lady. Jax and Gianna are good together in this almost instant love/lust story. Jax is sitting in a bar when he sees this man not taking "no" for an answer. Not able to stand it any longer her approaches the lady and acts like she has been waiting on him to show up. Gianna immediately catches on a responds accordingly. Paul, her boss that has been hitting on her, finally gets the message and leaves. Paul's mother wants to use the relationship to get Jax in her restaurant. This is a cute, sweet and steamy short fake to so much more read.

Book 2 in the "Love on the Ice" series. Gianna is a curvy young woman, sitting at a bar, trying to ward off advances by the man seated next to her. Jax is a hockey player, watching and becoming angry at his total inability to get her message. He decides to do something about it, so walks up to her, pretending she has been waiting for him. This is another great over the top, insta love book by Ms. Fox. I am looking forward to the next.

Gianna is sitting at a bar when Paul her boss keeps hitting on her even when she tries to brush him off he just does not take no for a answer. Jax is also sitting in the same bar and comes to her rescue by acting as her boyfriend. Jax is a famous hockey player who is trying to change his bad reputation and acting as Giannas fake boyfriend is not hard to do as she is beautiful. Enjoyed this hot romance and the chemistry between Gianna and Jax leaps off the page.

I've read a lot of books written by Jane Fox; she has done an excellent job at writing a good short story; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Hockey player, Jax, is wanting to drink his drink in peace at the bar. Another male is making it very difficult for him. The male won't leave a female, Gianna, alone. Jax decides to help out Gianna. What happens in the story is based on a deal that Jax and Gianna come to while at the bar. Good characters. The read is continuous and fast paced. You are interested from beginning to end.

This got my motor running because Gianna and Jax are just hot together. But most of all, I was just smiling the whole time. Jax is cocky but not overbearing and he helps Gianna out when he didn’t have to. Gianna also gives him a rub for his money and doesn’t just fall at his feet like other girls. They’re perfect for each other.

Gianna's boss won't take no for an answer, so Jax rescues her. He didn't even need to use his fists, although the thought crossed his mind. They "fake" date to keep her boss away, until Jax convinces her that he wants to "really" date her. This is cute and short, sweet and steamy. Gianna has self-image issues, but Jax is patient with her, and they're so cute together. I'm really enjoying this new series. I am really enjoying this new series by Jane Fox. In Deke, Jax is a hockey player looking for a drink at his favorite drink at the Lone Star when he meets Gianna. Jax is smitten with the curvy beauty. So pretending to be her boyfriend to scare off her creepy boss is his chance. Jax will use this opportunity to prove to Gianna they belong together. This was the perfect weekend escape!

Jane has just nailed this story. Jax and Gianna are just two people I'd love to hang out with and when they first meet...it's one that will wake up your heart.

A well written enjoyable story. The story flows well, the characters go well together and have amazing chemistry. You will not be disappointed with the story and you will not put it down till you find out what happens next with Gianna and Jax. A great read.

Wow this book get so hot you may need a cold shower I absolutely could not get enough of this I was hooked from the first page great writing job bravo loved it and if anyone is looking a steamy wonderful read then add this one to your list you will not be disappointed I was not, I loved it

An enjoyable and exciting book two in the Love on the Ice series! It is quick, witty, funny, engaging, well written, and guaranteed to pull you in from the first page. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. Definitely recommended!
