About the author

Dani Hoots is a science fiction, fantasy, romance, and young adult author who loves anything with a story. She has a B.S. in Anthropology, a Masters of Urban and Environmental Planning, a Certificate in Novel Writing from Arizona State University, and a BS in Herbal Science from Bastyr University.

Currently she is working on a YA urban fantasy series called Daughter of Hades, a YA urban fantasy series called The Wonderland Chronicles, a historic fantasy vampire series called A World of Vampires, and a YA sci-fi series called Sanshlian Series. She has also started up an indie publishing company called FoxTales Press. She also works with Anthill Studios in creating comics through Antik Comics.

Her hobbies include reading, watching anime, cooking, studying different languages, wire walking, hula hoop, and working with plants. She is also an herbalist and sells her concoctions on FoxCraft Apothecary. She lives in Phoenix with her husband and visits Seattle often.

A good continuation of the series, although it felt like less happened in this book.

How does she get out of this? In the second book of Dani Hoot's series Chrys is Engaged. But how to get out of it? This book is so exciting! It's a flight from mystery to mystery as Huntley and the rest try to figure out how to rescue Chrys from Zeus. Although written as a young adult series I found this book to be extraordinarily compelling to read.

Chrys has been back in the Underworld for a while after her trip to Earth. Chrys had to follow in her mother’s footsteps so to speak. She just had to go to Earth to see why her mother, Persephone was so fascinated with it even though she was forbidden to leave the Underworld by her father, Hades.

I don’t think Chrys knew how dangerous it was for her to leave the Underworld as she had probably not been told the whole truth of the matter. Maybe if her situation had been explained to her more deeply then she may never have left but then again she is a teenager which sometimes can change everything as they do see things in a different light.

Now Chrys finds herself back in the Underworld and engaged to her father’s brother Zeus and without her best friend Huntley who has been banned from the Underworld.

In the Underworld, Chrys is doing everything she can to find a way out of her engagement to Zeus while Huntley is on Earth doing the very same thing and he will let nothing stand in his way of finding a way to break the engagement so he can get back the love of his life.

I love reading stories about Gods and Goddess especially the Greek ones. I am so enjoying reading about Hades and Persephone’s daughter Chrys and her many adventures. Engaged is so full of mystery and suspense. I was hooked from the first page. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see if or how Chrys was going to break off her engagement to Zeus or if that was even possible.

Engaged was just as captivating as its predecessor Endangered. I am so loving the Daughter of Hades series and can’t wait to read the next book, Entangled to see what Chrys has in store for us. Dani Hoots is one great storyteller, so far I have loved everything that I have read of hers.

I thought It was amazing I am loving this series but I was wondering when you would be publishing the books entangled and enchanted or where I could find them so I could continue reading this series?

I kinda missed the dynamic between Chrys and Huntley in this volume and they were more like whiney teenagers which got on my nerves a bit, but the plot is still really engaging and I'm super curious to find out how Chrys is going to get out of the awful situation her stupid decision in the previous book got her into.

I also enjoy how the author works with the source material of Greek mythology. The attention to detail while working the myths into something new with urban fantasy vibes certainly makes for an interesting read. I also really want to see Zeus get his come-uppance, although I'm not sure how Chrys and her friends are going to pull that one off. I guess I'll just have to keep reading.

Thanks to the magic of audiobooks, I'm flying through this series!

Engaged was just as much fun as Endangered. I adored the premise and the characters, yadda yadda, but I was gutted that Chrys and Hades were fighting in this one. It broke my heart every time they stormed out of a conversation or walked away angry. I just wanted them to make up already and work together like the awesome father-daughter pair they are.

I also have a big soft spot for Chrys and Huntley.

I'm super intrigued to see how Chrys will get out of her predicament and can't wait to listen to Book 3!

I did end up really liking this book. The characters are fun to get to know. There was a bit I felt sorta bored and kept putting off reading but pretty sure that was cause of me not the book at all.
Day after: lowered star to three cause there were a few things in the book that contradicted other parts of the book and I hate how there are some grammatical issues and then a wrong name used. I am enjoying them. Three stars is still a good read to me. Just not necessarily a read again and again.

Audio Book..
Yep still enjoying the series.. Flying through them.. One good thing about the job I have I may not be able to read the book with my eyes but I am lucky to get to listen to the books.. It is a great escape and I am finding new authors I have never heard of before by finding audiobooks that sound good..

There was some major creep factor going on with Zeus. I felt dirty just reading it. Luckily enough, nothing too nasty happens with him. The drama is over the top but it sucks you in. The insane betrayal was over the top. I enjoyed reading Chrys' and Huntley's adventures.

Such a good follow up to the first book. I love watching Chrys handle situations and grow up so quick. I also love the addition of Hermes into the plot line and his obnoxious but hard not to love personality. With every new introduction to the gods I’m more ready to personally fight them for talking poorly about Hades, Huntley and Chrys.
