When the EMP strikes, how far will you go to survive?
Six months have passed since a devastating EMP struck the nation, forcing survivors to adapt to a terrifying new world without power.
After coming so close to reaching a rumoured safe haven, Jack and his group of survivors were captured by a violent enemy, leaving them in a more life-threatening situation than ever.
But Jack isn't giving up without a fight. And neither are the rest of his people.
Does Jack have what it takes to fight his way out of captivity? Do his people have the strength and courage to survive one final, harrowing journey?
Final Stand is the sixth and final book in the Surviving the EMP post apocalyptic series. If you enjoy stories of ordinary people thrown into devastating new circumstances, you'll love Surviving the EMP.
Dont get me wrong, I’ve loved most of RC’s series, but I have to admit they’re getting a little repetitive/monotonous. I get that in a scenario like this, there will be psychos taking advantage of the situation, but the whole fanatical cult leader psycho is literally repeated in every book of this series. They’re all basically just a plug & play algorithm of the same book…
-Jack ruminates on his bad decisions & vows to do better -they find a safe place -Jack has learned nothing from his past mistakes and continues to make the same bad decisions. -bad guy who lost his wife/child/etc & decided that weakness is the problem shows up with his cult. He constantly contradicts his own beliefs. -new character shows up just in time to get killed off so we don’t have to lose any of our favorite main characters in the standoff. -they battle it out -Jack ruminates on his bad decisions & vows to do better
I love RC’s writing style and I hope he’ll branch out in the next series and give us a little variety. There are so many other challenges our group can face besides just psychos. Can we get at least one book where it’s just them trying to survive nature, like a blizzard or whatever?
Overall, I loved this series & would recommend to anyone who enjoys post apocalyptic stories.
Ryan Casey did another excellent job on this book. His characterization was great. The plot was well done. There were a couple too many coincidences, but the end result was a very good and very readable book.
Overall a good series that kept my attention, but the writing did get a bit redundant and predictable. I wish the ending tied things up a bit better, but I still enjoyed the read & the series.
Omg. Could these people be any more insufferable? Just when I thought some of these ppl were finally going to finally die, we ended the book with last minute, highly unlikely, completely unexplained mystery rescues and treatments and almost complete recoveries from devastating injuries with no infections. Of course. And bonus - had to awkwardly shove some gay characters into the last book. Can't have a book without that.

Loved the characters, their loyalty to each other, their perservence, their ability to adapt to different situations. It ended the way I like books to end.
We come to the end of saga with interesting characters. EMP or CME has hit and taken out everything electronic and the people must find a way to survive. Who can they trust? The most dangerous of the animal kingdom is man.
Great series. Real page turner. Good characters liked how they all grew and changed throughout the books and changed into a real group of survivor's with guts an determination. Although I must say they had the toughest time of any group I've come across.
