Who decides to marry their fiancée on Halloween night? In Vegas? At a thriller convention?
Carly Caldecott does. Why? Because she's a partygirl and an heiress. She thinks it will be atmospheric. It will be a great party story. It will look picture perfect on Facebook. But as the organ music rings through the chapel and the costumed attendees stare her down, Carly feels like a caged animal. She runs.
Risk-averse Jane Torres has just learned her life savings have irretrievably vanished when Carly barrels into her cleaning closet hideout. Jane has been dreaming of a life away from her job as a maid at the Masquerade Hotel and away from Vegas, a future that has just become much less likely with no money in the bank.
When Carly decides she was wrong to run and offers Jane an obscene amount of money to help win back her fiancée, Jane can't help but accept. But money is never free, and the arrangement causes Jane to question who she is and what she believes. When she starts falling for Carly, her life goes from stuck to impossible.
Carly is way out of her league. And the potential life of freedom she shows Jane prompts terrifying questions. As her dreams come close to becoming reality, Jane must confront her fear of the unknown. Will it destroy her? Is it worth the risk?
Will Jane take the leap? Find out in The Longshot.

I brought all 6 at the get-go.... not sure I've been as enthusiastic as the writer's. Some of the books seemed too close in script - this one is the 2nd where a woman is initially seduced by money - but there the similarities end. It was OK.
This is the last book in a 6 pack themed series all written by different authors. I found this book to be the weakest in the series. the main characters are not well written, they're both immature but in different ways.
I couldn't relate to them, ones a maid & the other a kind of heiress. I'm assuming this is trying to go with a fairy tale type romance but falls flat. The maid (Jane) even has an evil stepmother who she lives in a trailer with. Skip this book, if you've read the series, there is no tie in conclusion ending to qualify reading this for.

I'll admit it. I wasn't really expecting too much after the first couple of chapters. It turned out to be a great feel good story. Great character development and story line. Believable and sensitive.
The Longshot: ShudderCon Las Vegas 6 (ShudderCon Vegas) [Kindle Unlimited] — Anna Cove (27 chapters) Dec. 2-3, 2019
Jane is a down on her luck maid working in a swanky Vegas hotel, living a rough life with an uncaring stepmother. Carly is a swanky, gets everything A-lister planning on marrying her girlfriend Liz. A lady bumps into Carly telling her not to marry, which sends her running from her wedding and into Jane. Upon further thought, Carly realizes that she still loves Liz and pays Jane to help her win her back. Hijinks ensue and first Jane, then Carly start to fall in love. When a terrible incident happens between Carly and Liz that Jane witnesses, the jig is up. But is it really?
My quick overview really doesn’t do this book justice. It was mostly well written (though I thought a couple of times the characters actions made me roll my eyes and sigh.) Plot developed very quickly and then slowly leveled out. Fast read. Chapters were written in good length. Over all a breezy, pleasy lesbian romance. No sexy bits until the very last chapter, and then only vanilla.
When I had this book, despite the 6 in the title, I didn’t know it was a 6-book series. Despite this, I didn’t find any part that I was confused about. If there are overlapping characters, I did not detect it in reading. I am now curious about the other five books in this series and will attempt to hunt them down.
Carly bumps into Jane running away away from marrying Liz during ShudderCon at the Masquerade hotel and casino. Who will turn Carly's life around, Liz or Jane?
Carly and her girlfriend are about to get married in Las Vegas during ShudderCon, but at the last minute Carly runs back down the aisle and escapes into a maid's closet in the hotel. There she meets Jane Torres, a hotel maid, who dreams of traveling the country and writing but is trapped in a dead end job and lives with her horrible step mother in a trailer.
Carly pays Jane to help her make amends with her girlfriend and along the way the two learn quite a bit about one another.
This is the first of the series I've read. It was okay, though a little farfetched. Anna Cove has written better books that I would recommend first.
A loose cannon (Carly) leaves her fiance at the alter. Nothing strange about that, since Carly has lived her life running. A worker at the hotel who has issues of her own who refuses to believe she looks very pretty . The two of them of them meet and begin a struggle of back and forth until one of them decides it is time to stop. What does she want? It her answer so close that she overlooks it at first? Enjoy! The ShudderCon series has been a mixture of stories of people stepping back as asking, Who do I want? Thank you ladies for an enjoyable series.
Great story and enjoyable read .This time about a maid in the hotel and a party girl whose suddenly cold feet when it comes to marrying her girlfriend. The maid agrees to help her get her back. Now the fun begins. Author Anna Cove did a good job writing this
I loved this series. I read all six. I loved how they intertwined with one another. A couple of the same characters and the same things happening. And that there was different authors for each book. Very impressive. Thanks to all for writing.
A wonderful story to end the Shuddercon Vegas series. A very down to earth story. The series are as stated all stand alone stories, all entertaining and all with its cameos and HEA.
