When darkness loves the light, one shall always be in pain.
When the Gods of Light and Dark fell in love, the world shared the shadows and the light. And when their love had come to an end, the world was divided. And now, centuries later, their children carry on their Gods feud. The children of Light and Dark marked as enemies as soon as they stole their first breath in the divided world.
Valina has kept to the shadows, watching as the king - who ruled over the land of dark - murdered innocents. A king who has his wicked eyes set upon her. Rebels have banded together to bring down the king but Valina has kept away from them until one day, the town was forced to watch rebels burn, and it was that day that Valina decided the time for hiding in the shadows, was over.
If her life was not changed after she joined the rebels, then the day she meets a child of Nicitis, the God of Light, changes her world forevermore. Now, she is faced with her enemy, or so she thought. Perhaps the children of light are not their true enemies, but the people that share the shadows with her, are.
*This is a recommended 18+ read for it contains explicit scenes and trigger warnings. This is a reverse harem read*
Brionna is a self-published author with a vast imagination. Stories are always conjuring within her mind. Writing has been her passion for as long as she can remember. She plans on writing several books and series, each one more fantastical than the last.
I found fellow author Vampire Bri on TikTok and was immediately obsessed with the stunning art on the covers of her books! And a promise of a vampire Reverse Harem? Yes please! While our badass MC only has one (two, technically) lover this first book, you can see the potential others. Can’t wait to read the others!!
OMG this book got me interested as i found the author on tiktok, wanted to read this book, and omg so many feelings, im dyslexic so i find it had to read some of the words but i got the meaning of each character and their powers.
first off, the main characters are brilliantly well written and i feel as if i connect to them, you go through so many emotions when reading this book, Anger, sadness, happiness and shock did not expect to find the ending and i am dying to read the second book in the series.
at some points in the book i did not expect and my face went red at certain times and couldnt help but have a little giggle haha, i honestly enjoyed reading this book and i hope the author continues the series as it is amazing.
definetly worth a read and shelf space one of the best series i want to own haha
The world and characters are painted beautifully in this book. There’s a great balance in the darkness of the monsters and their redeeming qualities. The only thing that bothered me throughout the book is I couldn’t figure out why these powerful creatures couldn’t kill the king with their abilities. I’m assuming from the secret at the end of the book, that’s why no one has been able to but it would have been nice to get clarification about that. Or maybe to what extent people can use their powers. Do they have to be in a certain distance of someone? How many people can they use it on at once and why is it limited? Does it drain them? Otherwise, I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read the next!
This is very much an Adult book with a trigger warning for sexual abuse so no younger readers, but for adults who love a fantastic story and don't mind the content, this story kept me wanting to read on and know more. I loved the characters and the emotion behind this story, you could really get in tune and sympathise with them. The relationships, explanations, storyline were all easy to follow, detailed and full of action and then just when you're in the thick of it and reading faster to know more... it leaves you on the biggest cliffhanger going...so naturally I have had to buy the other two books in the series. The author has put so much heart and soul into these characters, and their pasts, I'm glad I discovered this series. All I would say is that I wish the book was longer xD
WOW, normally I wouldn't something like this. I am mainly a fan of sic-fi genre (my dad got me into reading). I wanted a change and took a chance on this book and I am glad I did. The characters pull you in and the story line keeps you. The pacing and flow is just about perfect (my attention get pulled into several different areas through out the day). I want to read the next book in the series. Follow this author she might be a indie author but she one of the best ones.
I enjoyed the book, it was different and quite dark, literally lol. We only see a small part of a much bigger world and hopefully we'll get to see more of the 'bright side' in the future. It's pretty slow burn, but i'm looking forward to how everything comes together
I loved the idea behind the condentai. They were so original to me, with their unique powers. Valina was kinda similar to a vampire in that she feeds and craves blood. I did anticipate some twist happening with the king (no spoilers) and am looking forward to finding out what happens next!
Main female character is strong, perhaps the strongest of all of them which is nice to read. The lore of the world is interesting and the end has a twist I did not see coming in the slightest!
I skim through it at some point it was okay. That one guy that kept repeating "My dear" was annoying.
I always found it odd when main character are hundreds of years old and has known her love interest for that long yet now they start to feel an attraction for them.
I loved this book from the very beginning. The characters were well written and I found myself wanting to know more. I am looking forward to continuing the story!
