In a world where a cutting edge technology allows memories to be bought and sold, a desperate man will try anything to escape the demons of his past. When Robert Grayson finds himself in police custody, he confesses to the brutal slayings of over a dozen women, giving police details only the killer could know. But to Detective Stephanie Monroe, the facts don't add up. She quickly begins to suspect that Robert is the victim of an elaborate set up designed to let a homicidal maniac walk free - and to kill again. To prove her hunch and to save Robert, she'll have to find the real killer before he finds her.
At first I thought it was going to be just another detective story. But then all the plot twists started in directions I hadn't predicted. There was a romance budding, as well. The adding and erasing people's memories was a great story angle. All in all very enjoyable read!
Loved this book! It combined modern police procedural with a touch of "what-if?" sci-fi to explore a topic which I expect is going to get more and more relevant in the coming years. And it was just really entertaining.
A unique plot for this thriller and i admit it was touch and go in terms of making it work. There were some plot holes but the interesting crime kept me reading. I did figure out the big plot twist at the end but I still kept reading. I think that makes for a success. I was provided a copy of this book for an honest review by the publisher. Thank you!
