Lucifer Case Files #4

What would you do to save your lover?

And what if you had a nuclear bomb?

Evelyn was kidnapped and is being held in the Middle East. And I, Lucas, am going to rescue her.

She is held in Ubar, the Atlantis of the Sands, a city that officially doesn't exist. That suits me perfectly because I am not coming in peace.

Though things don't go great as the first thing I do is that I accidentally give a ten years old girl my angelic blessing. I name her Lillith and have to take her with me.

That's a problem since I cannot allow her to become a fallen angel like I am. To avoid that, I balance rescuing Evelyn with raising the young girl, all the while I conceal who I am, what I do, and hide the carnage I leave behind.

Yet Ubar's defenses are endless. Worse, the ruling Sultan is borderline immortal and has entirely different plans for Evelyn.

To convince him to let her go, I get myself a nuclear bomb.

I would rather start a world war than give up on her.

Really fun series and addictive characters

These characters are so much fun they are addictive. The action blended with the story is very engaging and totally sucks you into their world. I recommend this book and series.

Excellent

This was a nice follow up to how the last book ended. Here we saw Lucas go after Evelyn and he upped his count to include scorpions and ghosts. 😂

In a league of its own

This is unlike other fantasies I’ve read. The plot, description, characters all come alive. You can picture them in your mind. The whole series is great!

Lucifer Unchained (Lucas Johnson Urban Fantasy Thrillers Book 4) Kindle Edition
by Thomas Green
I received a complimentary eARC and am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.

Wow! I am so happy to have received that eARC! I want to crawl into this series and never leave.

Imagine John Wick possessed by a fallen angel who also carries Lucifer in his soul. And he has a the dry wit of Ryan Reynolds. And the action is better than Jason Bourne. Yeah, this book is that good!.

I've often complained about coming midstream into a series, because the author had no intention of either catching the reader up or treating the book as a separate story. This is so not true of Thomas Green. This story is self-sustaining and everything you need to know about Lucas is laid out in the first few chapters. But that doesn't mean you don't want to spend as much time with this anti-hero as you can. Heck, I want to buy him a drink and let him talk my ear off! He believes he is not a good man, for very good reason, but deep down he, sometimes, wants to do the right thing.

Lucas is a fallen angel who holds the blessing and the soul of Lucifer. He is a relentless (in a the T800 Terminator possessed a bull shark way) who wants his lover. His lover is in Ubar, a hellish hole in the darkest part of the desert, called the Atlantis of the Sands. He will do anything to get her back, including steal a nuclear bomb.

Mr. Green's writing is at once fast-paced, snarky and dryly humorous. I was simultaneously chewing my nails and snickering. It was a treat to read this book.

5 stars out of 5 with a big “Put this into your TBR immediately!”

For the record, I received an Advanced Review Copy of this book with the request that I leave an honest review for other potential readers. I try not to reveal any spoilers in my reviews so it is safe to read. Having said that, here we go we the review. This 4th installment of Lucas' adventures keeps you just as engrossed in the action as all of the others. Thomas Greene's writing just keeps getting better and better. The character building and the world building are just marvelous. We are transported into Lucas' world and ride along through all of twists and turns of the plot. I don't know where Mr. Green comes up with his ideas but it is going to be very interesting to see where the story goes from here. This book, and the whole series for that matter, are so worth the time to read them (i was up until 2 am finishing this one and don't regret it at all). This series has been so much fun to read and review. I look forward with great anticipation for another installment of Lucas' adventures.

Lucas has evolved as a character since the beginning when all he really cared about was saving his sister. Has he changed for the better? Maybe you should decide for yourself! Is there just a bit of the devil in all of us? There certainly is in this unlikely hero.

Evelyn has been missing for six months. Lucas has continued his search in his free time, and sometimes on his employer’s dollar. Now Father Jack, truly a higher angel, has traced Evelyn through the piece of her soul Lucas carries in his cross.

Lucas takes vacation time and heads for Saudi Arabia to rescue his lover. It is a big country but once Lucas gets close enough, the pull from Evelyn’s soul fragment will guide him. He is fully equipped with his personal arsenal and doesn’t care who he has to go through to get to her.

Will there be any survivors when he finds and frees Evelyn? What if, unlikely as it seems, Evelyn left him voluntarily?

**** SPOILER ALERT ****
"Lucifer Unchained" is the first book of Green's that I've read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
I like how the author continued the world building and character development throughout the entire book.
Q: What would you do to rescue your lover from a despot backed by magic?
Q: What do you do if you accidentally created an angel?
A: Get this book and you'll see Green's answers to those questions.
I strongly recommend this entertaining book.
In the interest of transparency: I was given a free review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review. It is my own honest opinion.

Lucas is back & kicking more butt !!

Back for another adventure Lucas/lucifer is tasked with finding a traitor inside the Vatican;the catch, he has to do it while possessing the body of a Vatican forensics specialist! The action doesn’t stop as Lucas’s investigation into the traitor starts. With rogue mages, mercenaries & aether wielders in his way he also has to find out what’s happened to his girl Evelyn ,who’s been missing since infernal contract! I’ve really enjoyed Lucas’s adventures & am now looking forward to his next one in Lucifer in chains. Highly recommend.

This thrilling action adventure has violence, determination, secrets, lies, plots, surprises and twists. Our Hero is h a Paranormal hitman, a schemer, and will do whatever is necessary to finish a task. He is a very busy, resourceful being who rolls with the punches, but is reluctant to promise anything. This complex page-turner compels the reader to continue reading. Excellent read. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Received ARC. Really like the series. A fast pace and action filled read. Characters are relatable. Good story line and kept your attention. Takes you into the story and holds you there until done. I have read this series and I await impatiently for the next installment. Thomas Green is a good writer and supplies you with twists and turns that you are not expecting.

I got this as a free ARC to give my fair & honest review.

As much as I’d love to give this 5 stars, it was a good story, with lots of badassery in it. Angels, Demons, Vampires, witches & even a few Greek Gods!

But there were still a lot of grammatical errors & spelling errors that really detracted from the story! I would definitely like to read more adventures of Luke Johnson in the future.

Another great book. Fast paced, energetic, and action packed. We join Lucas Johnson on another adventure where he gets in over his head over and over and then has to get himself out. It's funny, it's sad, its heart warming, and heart breaking all at the same time. I love Lillian. I want to keep her. I hope she remains part of this story. Can't wait to read the next book.
