When she discovers that she is immune to the bite of snakes and capable of unearthly powers over them, Felicity Jane uses her unusual "talents" to avenge her mother's murder.
A horror paperback title from the 80s that's been forgotten to the ravages of time, Viper isn't especially memorable in its writing, mainly focusing on the rich family's relationships and inheritance getting passed around.
The premise, however, is just great: a little girl discovers she can control snakes and so uses them to murder her evil family members one-by-one. The problem is that a story like this should reach some pulpier heights than this one does.
The setting where the book takes place after the first 100-pages, Hawai, had me excited since it's a pretty rare setting in horror fiction. Unfortunately, it's not really described or explored more than any New English mansion setting would be other than to provide more snakes.
