This was a great fantasy sequel to Fantasy of Frost, and Lina continued to be a strong female lead.
Well, Olina was one heck of a kick-ass chick in this book! After the events of Book 1, she managed to not only look after herself, even though she was a very strange place and completely cut off from all that she had ever know, but she also managed to become a top fighter, and best men twice her size! Go Olina! There is seriously no stopping this girl once she knows what she wants, and if you get in her way – look out!
“Shard shoots me an amused glace. He is the only one I couldn’t beat.”
The storyline in this was good, although I did despair of the situations that Olina got herself into at times! This poor girl was constantly out of the fire and into the frying pan, and even when it looked like things might finally be looking up, she was in trouble again!
“I’m half standing when I remember he can’t possibly recognise me.”
There was a touch of romance in this, and it was surprising, but good! I don’t want to say too much, but I was so upset for Olina after when happened with Kendrick in Fantasy of Frost, and I really want her to have a chance to be happy!
“His kiss is firm, but his lips are devastatingly soft. It’s the direct opposite of Sin’s kiss. And then the tingles start. The ones I’ve only felt a couple of times before.”
The ending to this once again left me desperate for the next instalment! Well done Kelly for another fabulous fantasy adventure!

I'm completely in love with this story and this characters, and not to mention Olina! She's growing into such a wonderfully complex character, I just love her so freaking much!!

Stop it with these cliffhangers, pleaseeee!
Omg I can't even tell you how amazing this book was.
The world-building, the story, the characters. Everything was perfect and I am satisfied.
It is not that often I can find an MC I absolutely approve of. Olina is strong, fun, and fierce. She never backs down from a challenge, and she has an endearing personality. Not to mention our girl can kick some serious ass. Rosaline LOVES! I also absolutely loved her Frost persona, and I really hope to see more of that badass awesomeness.
The side characters, too, were all so lovable that I cannot decide who my favorite was. Can I just bundle them all up as a Christmas gift?
In my review of the first book I mentioned needing a bit more action to make the book more enjoyable, and man, did we get all the action in this book. This was exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier with Fantasy of Flight as a sequel.
I also feel like I should mention the awesome world-building again. How amazing to come up with such fresh ideas and to sell them so smoothly that I forget it's fiction. This book is a great guide on how not to info-dump your readers.
Similarly, I was very pleased with how the romance started and took shape during the books. It wasn't rushed, or cheesy, or stupid and illogical. It also wasn't all about how hot he was and how she couldn't take her eyes off of him!
I have been shipping these two characters so hard since their first interaction and I am so happy my ship finally worked out as I planned. This never happens people! I never get what I want out of love. This is a miracle.
There were also other hot guys around with no cliche love triangle or unnecessary drama. How rare is that????!!!!!
Also I now need a Jovan of my own. Or more characters like him. Any suggestions?
Overall, I am so happy with this sequel and can't wait to read the third book. I have even higher expectations for this one.

This book is just filled with too many characters and pointless ‘adventures’
First of all, we have the MC in a new situation with entirely new people. I complained that the first book had too many characters, well this was worse. We are introduced to so many people and each of them seemed significant so it wasn't just the case of 'background people'.
The first half of this just seemed like a totally different book. There was a long ass plot that didn't seem related to the plot of the first book and I just kept waiting for it to correlate with the first book (it never did). The MC's main goal was to try and solve a mystery that was introduced in the first book but she got side tracked.
The ship- I mentioned in my review of the first book that I really shipped two people. Well this book made me change my mind. Homegirl was always running away from the guy (as some type of angst) and I was so annoyed and over them!
Just when I thought there would be no more new people, MORE characters get introduced!!! I swear there are like 50 characters in this series and this is just the second book.
There were alot of fight scenes in this book which would have been interesting if they were complicated or unpredictable but the MC kept winning her fights because she's the best fighter in the whole world!! so reading about how 'good' she was got old.
Why 2 stars instead of 1? I liked the beginning of the book when I had hope but it went downhill. I was mostly interested because I wanted to see the big mystery solved but it doesn't get solved until the last book! (I spoiled it for myself because I didn't want to continue the series) and I wasn't even impressed!

This was a thrilling, engaging, and action-packed read.
I loved the exploration of Olina’s fighting skills. The intense action scenes, vividly depicted the depth of Olina's training and her mastery of various combat techniques. In addition, Olina was a complex and compelling character, her past traumas, fierce determination, and protectiveness of those she loves made me rooting for her all the way.
I enjoyed this second book in the series; now on to the third. 4 stars.

I'm just going to go ahead and give it 5 stars. Hell, I'll probably go ahead and give the whole series 5 stars.
This book seems like a totally different story. It takes a weird turn and doesn't look back. Again, there are things you just have to concede and go with, but the story never drags and it kept me entertained. Many, many times I asked myself, or rather Olina, "Whhhy???" But then she'll acknowledge her behavior for what it is and that's enough to mollify me. What can I say? Sometimes I'm easy. I don't know what it is, but it's totally working for me. Again, if you are a fan of fantasy romance I'd say give this a go. I've already started on book 3, and if it weren't for homework I'd be reading it right now.

I can't explain how mad I am at this book because is as if everything that happened in book one didn't matter at all. And can we please stop making protagonist who cannot make a decision because the can't handle their feelings and therefore they decided to run in every situation?????? I HATE THAT.
-The princess discovers the secret behind her face??? SHE RUNS AND JOIN A FIGHT CLUB.
-The princess who run away suddenly sees the king from far away, a king who's searching for her because he's fucking scared because he doesn't know if she's okay? SHE RUNS AND HIDE.
-And then she sees some of the king guards months after her disappearance searching for her?SHE ONLY COMPLAINS because HOW DARE HER FRIENDS AND THE KING KEEP SEARCHING FOR HER, and then she runs.
-The princess is found but she's under disguised at the palace for everyone besides the king and she doesn't want to be recognized, and then her puppy (WHOM SHE ABANDON PREVIOUSLY IN ORDER TO RUN AWAY) sees her and she doesn't want for her puppy to come for her??? SHE RUNS AND SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT HATING DOGS so no one could make the connection.
-and my personal favorite, the princess and the king have sex and the next morning she wakes up first and can't stand the feeling that the king is going to hurt her feelings??? (because that's the fucking logic she has) SHE RUNS AWAY AGAIIIIIN.

Fantasy of Flight is the second instalment in Olina's tale. It contains action and adventure, romance (more than the first), a complex story line, and a fantasy/sci-fi setting.
If you can't stand cliffhangers, then I wouldn't recommend this book for you because I have been a cruel biarch at the end :) There's a bit of swearing too. It's hard to explain without giving things away, but the swearing is in context with the world-building. I don't believe it distracts or detracts from the reading experience.
Suitable for 16+, fantasy, Young adult, new adult, science fiction, action and adventure, and romance lovers.

If I get a coin for everytime this protagonist does something stupid or keeps a secret for no reason or think about running away to avoid her problems instead of solving it I'd get richer than Bill Gates.

I'm enjoying this series so far. Not only do I enjoy Olina and Jovan, but I am really enjoying all the side characters too. They are helping to make this series for me.
I wish we had more of Jovan in this one. These two clearly have a connection, and we aren't getting to see it grow. We also don't get much on the mystery of who killed Kedrick.
I'm looking forward to the next book.

I really enjoyed this novel. There were some problems I had with it that kept me from giving it a higher rating. Portions of the first half of this novel dragged for me somewhat and I didn't feel like it added as much to the original story as I had hoped. Lina became a top fighter, which was fun to experience, but I didn't feel like the overall story progressed as much as it should have. Later in the novel the opposite happened. Things were too rushed for me, but important to the story introduced in book one.
I did really enjoy this. I'm very excited to read the next book and see where it takes the characters from here. I have a lot of questions and I'm hoping it has the answers.

Give me a moment to collect myself. I feel like a little piece of my soul just got crushed when I saw how long I have to wait for the next book.
But this book was all I needed and more. We get to meet a whole new group of friends and Olina (or Frost, as she's known to her new friends) becomes so much stronger in so many different ways. She gets more romance in this book, not a lot, but the build up is cute and I was practically jumping for joy when it happened. I really liked the first book in this series, and this one was ok too, but I found the plot to be incredibly slow at points. I also tired of the heroine constantly being on the move. She was continually running from someone or something. I also think this book was supposed to have some romantic aspects, but I found them to be incredibly lacking. I will still move onto book 3 though. I also appreciate this being offered as a kindleunlimited.

It was so easy for me to write a review after I read the first book but now I seem to be unable to express myself in anyway. I’m feeling ALL of the emotions.

I am so conflicted about this book. I loved Fantasy of Frost, the first book in this series, Fantasy of Flight, however, was not what I expected. While I enjoyed it, I can't say I loved it. It felt like an entire different story, different book, different everything, for, at least, half of the story. I was so disappointed because I didn't understand where the author was going with it.
Our heroine, Olina, had to become a different person with her veil gone. That I understand. But then she stayed away from the King and her entire life, for I don't know how many months. She didn't want to go back which made me sad because I loved her relationship with the delegation in the first book. I also wanted to see the romance with the king develop into something more serious.
I did like the new characters introduced in this book, much like the delegation, they're a group of misfits that founded their own little family circle. But the entire thing just seemed all over the place. There are so many characters now, from different part of the book that don't know the same Olina, if that makes sense. Some know her as Tatuma/Olina, some as Frost and some as Willow. It just was a little frustrating to read.
I did like the end of the book better. She goes back to the King and her old friends, even if they still don't who she really is, apart from the king. The romance does go a little further and I was happy, until Olina starts to pull away once again and that was honestly so annoying. I like her as a character, I think she grew a lot since the beginning of the first book and I like how strong, fierce and independent she became, but her reaction to some things were childish.
Hopefully things will be better in the third book, more focused on the actual main characters and not all over the place like this one was. I still enjoyed it because even though it was confusing, the new character were endearing and I hope to see them again. I'm excited to see more of King Jovan and see how his relationship with Olina will develop. Finally, I hope Fantasy of Fire will answer some of the burning questions we have since the first book, I feel like nothing has been cleared up yet.
Our heroine, Olina, had to become a different person with her veil gone. That I understand. But then she stayed away from the King and her entire life, for I don't know how many months. She didn't want to go back which made me sad because I loved her relationship with the delegation in the first book. I also wanted to see the romance with the king develop into something more serious.
I did like the new characters introduced in this book, much like the delegation, they're a group of misfits that founded their own little family circle. But the entire thing just seemed all over the place. There are so many characters now, from different part of the book that don't know the same Olina, if that makes sense. Some know her as Tatuma/Olina, some as Frost and some as Willow. It just was a little frustrating to read.
I did like the end of the book better. She goes back to the King and her old friends, even if they still don't who she really is, apart from the king. The romance does go a little further and I was happy, until Olina starts to pull away once again and that was honestly so annoying. I like her as a character, I think she grew a lot since the beginning of the first book and I like how strong, fierce and independent she became, but her reaction to some things were childish.
Hopefully things will be better in the third book, more focused on the actual main characters and not all over the place like this one was. I still enjoyed it because even though it was confusing, the new character were endearing and I hope to see them again. I'm excited to see more of King Jovan and see how his relationship with Olina will develop. Finally, I hope Fantasy of Fire will answer some of the burning questions we have since the first book, I feel like nothing has been cleared up yet.

Fantasy of Flight is the second book in the Tainted Accords series, that began with Fantasy of Frost.
We pick up the story, right as book 1 finishes-Olina has left the safety of the Kings guard, and with her blue eyes, is passing for a Bruma named 'Frost'. In return for food and a roof over her head, she agrees to become a pit fighter, taking on some of the outer rings most brutal fighters. Her veil has been destroyed and the only way she can ever return to her position as Tatuma is to find the material to replace her veil. If she cannot do so, she'll be stuck in the pits as her 'Frost' persona forever. But maybe that wouldn't really be so bad?
I liked this one even more than the first book! So good I got halfway through and bought the rest of the series and the novella.
This book is where we really get to see Olina as a badass. We already knew she could fight, but the pit fights take that to a whole new level. And the barracks other fighters quickly became some of my favourite characters. There's much humour in this book, as the rough and ragged fighters try to teach the much more proper Olina to loosen up. Olina's journey continues to be fascinating- she's experiencing life without her veil for the first time, and as Frost, she has no responsibilities. It's her first taste of freedom. I just can't get enough of this girl!
The romance takes a back seat for much of this book. But I did a lot of nail biting, with my heart thumping in my chest so that made up for it. And we do see some progress with Jovan and Olina (damn that slow burn is torturous!). But I loved every minute of it. The plot twist towards the end was unexpected and adds a whole new dimension to the story. I'm looking forward to seeing how that shakes things up yet again in the next book.

I must admit that I enjoyed Fantasy of Flight as much as I enjoyed the first book. Although there were scenes that doesn't made sense to me, the whole story were still interesting to read. I really like Olina and her Frost alter ego. She's a real badass whenever she fights and I liked that she stands up for herself more. Its fun to see assholes get a dose of their own medicine once in a while. The additional characters were a nice touch to the book as well. I like the peace delegates and the barracks crew equally. The subtle hint of romance between King Jovan and Olina were also entertaining to read. Looking forward for their relationship!
The only problem I had is that there were times that I find this book well written but there were also certain times that a certain scene doesn't make sense. But I got to say, the storytelling was good enough because it kept me wanting for more.

Let's just say that I have some serious qualms.
Firstly, for the record, I'm taking this off my fantasy list. There's no supernatural elements. It's a fiction book, taking place on a fiction world, but I don't think it qualifies as fantasy unless it has something supernatural going on - magic, supernatural beings, etc.
Anyway.
I'm falling on the side of dislike for the lead female. She's inconsistent, she makes terrible snap judgments, and she's falling in love with a complete dickhead. More on that in a minute. But basically, I can't get past the way Olina/Frost/Willow/who-the-fuck-ever (she goes by like 5983456 names in this series) allows herself to be treated. We get to see so many scenes of her being a badass - and that really plays out in this book, honestly - followed immediately by her being a doormat. Plus ... what is her plan? I mean, there's zero thought behind any action she takes - she pretty much just careens from encounter to encounter. I don't understand how she ever thought she was going to pop away for a couple days to investigate, and then pop back. I don't understand how she planned to track down the arrow ... she pretty much just wanders down the street asking every random person she encounters. Guys, I'm being literal - that is ACTUALLY what she does. I don't understand what her plan is when she decides to be, like, a cage-match fighter. What? No, really, why? How does this further ANY of her goals? How does she see any of this playing out?
The answer, unfortunately, is that when it comes to broad choices, she is TSTL. But it's weird because she can - and does - handle herself capably in other encounters. She seems to careen wildly between acting like 15 year old, and acting like a 25 year old. It is incredibly frustrating.
In this book, we meet and become attached to a whole new cast of characters. The good news is that I liked them all a lot more than I liked the dickheads from book 1 - I just don't really care for either court at all. I thought this was a good development, and I hoped it meant that the overbearing violent asshole (Javon) that seemed to be the future love interest was not going to be that at all. Honestly, a lot of this book played out like ... plot twist, he was just as much a bad guy as her mom!
Because you guys, he was.
He's been over-the-top violent towards her from the moment we met him. At first, it was fine - there was a question about whether she killed his brother. But then, when he clearly believes she loved his brother, he's still that way. He is constantly smashing into her room, pinning her to walls, ripping her veil off, shouting in her face, grabbing her around the arms and holding her off the ground to shout more... I mean, wtf, seriously. Plus, he knows her secret, but can he be a decent fucking human being about it? No. He screams at her that if she takes her veil off, he'll kill her, and he refuses to tell her why. JUST LIKE HER MOTHER. Then when she realizes why - she finally gets a look at her face (*eyeroll*) - she realizes he's been using her as a trump card. He knows her secret, and that puts him in a pretty strong position, both against her mother and also possibly as his little pet ruler that he can control via blackmail.
Yuck.
Then in this book, we see that he apparently considers a large swath of his own people - the outer rings folks - to be scum. He regularly rounds up the people in this fight club thing, and just ... has his guards kill them in this big dome, Gladiator style. What? Why?! Who does this?! This gets his guards killed. It gets all these people killed ... people he hasn't bothered to investigate or anything. He knows less than nothing about them. They are in a fight tournament thing, where the goal is to knock your opponent out - it's basically MMA fighting. And we spend the vast majority of this book in this location, where we discover that while, yes, there are some violent assholes (Slay, etc), the vast majority of the fighters are pretty cool, supportive, etc. But Jovan has his guards just round up everyone - including people on the sidelines (Crystal) - herd them to the dome, and then send guards in there endlessly until they are all dead.
Who the fuck does that? Is that supposed to be a character I like?
But Lina fights him. And fights for her friends. That's why I was happy, like yay! They're all evil, both rulers! Lina is going to bring down him, and then her mother!
But no. She doesn't. She fights, then goes back with him. Then lets him loop right back into yelling/shaking/pinning her. She plays with him like he's flirting, when he does it. And then she even sleeps with him. And she does that JUST AFTER finding out that he was deliberately leading the whole court to believe that she was his whore, so he could control her.
Gross.
I haven't seen a single goddamn redeemable thing about Jovan, but she can't keep away from him. She loves him. It kills me.
And then, lest you think well, maybe it's just one bad choice, but surely she has some self-respect ... then she has a conversation with the fucking guy who hired 3 people to sneak into her room at night and beat her nearly to death - he literally said to beat her to the edge of death. And he expresses that he feels bad about what he did. That's it. It makes him feel bad. And she forgives him. Without a moment of thought. Without a moment of consequence. She tries to help him hide that he was the guy who did it, even, but when that's found out, she comes to his defense.
This woman thinks so little of herself that I can't help but think little of her. And I hate it, because this could be a good story, but this is just utterly gross.

This is the most fun book in the series. Olina starts showing off all her badass fighting skills, and there's an arena scene with Jovan where the author's got a freebie on her site from his POV. It's epic. Olina really starts to come into her own in this book, PLUS it's funny PLUS it's got what is actually clearly a sex scene, even though it's obviously non-explicit.

Honestly, at the beginning I was a bit confused. How did we go from a veiled naive princess to fight club 2.0 ? That part was a bit long for my taste, but the relationships she built were very interesting. It was like she was another person. Then we finally are back to the castle and the king, and she leaves AGAIN ?! Girl, you gotta stop fleeing at any minor inconvenience ! Olina was a tad frustrating in this one, but I think she redeemed herself near the end. Glad to see Olandon again and can't wait for his character development !

Une suite meilleure, on entre enfin dans une histoire badass et à comprendre un peu plus pourquoi sa priorité n’en est pas vraiment une. L’histoire me fait penser à Throne of Glass.

Gah I loved this book! After I finished book 1 I kept thinking about this world and the series, I read another book afterwards and knew that after that I had to dive back into this series. The first book was good, but this book was even better!
This book starts shortly after the end of book 1. At the end of book 1 Olina made a big decision, in this book we see how that pans out and her search to solve the mystery, while at the same time she finds new friends a place to belong. There's a lot of character development in this book for Olina. It's hard to say a lot about this without spoiling the twists in book 1, but let's say that I really enjoyed seeing her find her way in this book. I like how she fights for what she believes in.
I had thought we probably found out the answer to the mystery plot line in this book, but while there are some new things we learn about that in this book, we still don't know who was behind it. But I did like how that plot line progressed and there's an important piece we learn at the end of the book about which type of people might be behind it.
There's a lot that happens in this book, I liked seeing where the story went. There are some great twists and reveals and I enjoyed every second of this book. While reading I often think of other books I want to read or what to read next, but when reading this book I had the revelation that I was reading exactly the book I wanted to. It was great! I had a hard time putting this book down and my lunch breaks often became a bit longer as I had to finish another chapter.
I am not even fully sure what about this book it is that makes it such an addictive read, but as soon as I start reading I just want to keep reading and I want to know what happens next. The end of this book is a bit of a cliffhanger, but it does it's job of making me curious about book 3. I love reading about these worlds and the events that transpire there.
In Fantasy of Flight we meet a whole bunch of new side characters. I did have some trouble keeping some of them apart, especially with all the snow and ice related names. But slowly we do get a feel of all of them and many of them have their own story and personality. I hope we get to see more of them later in this series. But I also was happy when we got to see some side characters from book one again as I've grow fond of those and we don't see them for part of this book.
