Even before they meet, Cam and Lynsey have something in common. They’re both searching for the good life.
As much as Cam hates to admit it, the fun of getting over-educated, while being under-committed, is wearing off. Sure, he’s made an impression – his research is published and his name is cursed by a trail of dumped and disillusioned women – but it’s time for something more. If only he could figure out what that is.
Lynsey is adrift. After years of meandering through college, never fully deciding what she wants to do with her life, her dad cuts the purse strings. Left to her own devices, Lynsey knows she has to dedicate herself to something, but after a life of floating, Lynsey’s not quite sure how.
When Cam and Lynsey stumble into running an old farm, they find themselves struggling to keep their heads above water. Both are sure this can’t be the good life – on a falling down farm or with each other. But what if the good life is something that sneaks up on you? What if it’s the quiet and chaotic adventures of the every day? And what if the only thing Cam and Lynsey need to live the good life, is to acknowledge how happy they already are, and admit it to themselves … and to each other?
Mara Dabrishus is an author and librarian at a small college in Northeast Ohio. Horse racing is her first great love, but for the past several years she's ridden dressage, learning how to spiral in, half halt, and perform the perfect figure eight. What a cute and completely hilarious book? The banter in this book was actually top notch for me. Not what you called intelligent banter but witty banter nonetheless. It made me laugh out loud many times. Cam is definitely not my favorite male protagonist but Lyn managed to win me over. She isn’t the normal type I would like to be friends with (Hope definitely is more of that) but I loved her enthusiasm and how she wanted to prove herself which she did. She wasn’t this amazing girl who managed to actually figure everything out, which made the story more relatable. She managed to trip and fall on the way and Cam managed to find her and catch her in his own way. What I really liked was the way they started. They weren’t attracted at all but over time they fell for each other. Their true selves managed to catch each other attention and they fell I love. Which was a real treat for the readers, reading their path to love.
The plot isn’t what you call novel but it had its cute moments. If you want to have a feel good book with less drama, this is a nice story.
Overall this was a good read. Cam and Lynsey are both running a marathon. A man named Albert falls and hurts himself. They take him to the hospital and find out he has a farm. They decide to take care of it while Albert is healing. While taking care of this farm they of course fall in love. They deal with some stuff but in the end they are happy.
Romance between people at loose ends. Cam is not moving up as quickly as he'd like in academia, and Lynsey has just been cut off from her family's money. The two meet at a sporting event, get roped into being farm caretakers, and discover that they enjoy rural, small-town life. It helps that both have an interest in horses. As is always the case, poor communications lead to misunderstandings that could be disastrous. The book is often hilarious and very cozy.
Another amazing one to read ! I loved to discover new characters that are connected to ones we know. Between finding what they want to do with their life, discover true love and horses that's the perfect way to have a good time reading.
This story has it all. It makes you laugh, scream, want to cry and cheer. The characters are so well developed you feel as though you know them and want to be their cheerleader and root them on. A great fun read.

In general: Funny Falling in love on a Farm.
The main characters are Lynsey and Cam. They meet during a half-Ironman near Lake Placid (NY). Lynsey more or less forces Cam to help her in taking care of a fallen runner, an old man Albert. The fallen athlete appears to have broken his ankle and is transported into a hospital. Albert persuades Lynsey and Cam to food the animals on his farm during his stay at the hospital. Both agree to do so. Lynsey had a bad break up with her last boyfriend, left her last hobby (riding her family’s GP jumping horses) and was disowned by her angry dad of her trust fund. So temporary living at Albert’s farm near Lake Placid is for her a welcome makeshift instead of returning to her family in Florida with hanging legs. And Cam develops gradually a secret crush on the athletic, sassy Lynsey. So he’s not in a hurry to go back to his job in Montreal, Can. Then the authors Mara & Tudor write a very funny story about Lyn and Cam’s deepening relationship, the complications with their (and Albert’s) families and their trial and error efforts to keep Albert’s farm running. For me as a reader I had one problem: The authors jump in the middle of a new scene without much introduction. So I often was thinking “What’s this about?” And only after a few paragraphs or pages it became clear to me. It’s not my favorite style of writing. But all in all: a lot of hilarious scenes, some wonderful characters and a nice plot.
Throughout my life, there's no better premise for a novel than love. In Search Of is a novel by Mara Dabrishus and Tudor Robins, is a gripping title about when you're in any part of your life where it's never too late to start over, it focuses on the right next step and it shows in the layered characters and plot. This book is a quirky, whimsical sweet romance but let's not forget the wit and observational humor since the beginning that definitely was the factor that got me hooked. Inevitably, the course of falling love does not run smoothly which is any reader's benefactor to a great romantic novel. This book is essentially a tender tale that explores the funny and affectionate exploration of Lynsey and Cameron while they try to navigate finding an alternative option through the pressure of having to figure out their own lives individually, where circumstances only bring them together. And so it begins a laugh-out-loud fairytale that I absolutely loved and kept me reading until past 3 am but was definitely worth it, over and over again.
n Search Of has a look at two people, a young man named Cam and young woman Lynsey. Both are competing in a triathlon event.
It tells the story from each of their point of views, interchanging between the male and the female. It’s very interesting how the two are thrown together in the race, and then the events that unfurl when they assist a gentleman in the race who’s taken a tumble. Running a marathon brings the unlikeliest people together in this book. Lindsey forces a stranger, Cam, into helping her aid a fallen runner, an older gent named Albert who owns a farm and is in need of help now that he broke his ankle. Quirky, fun and full of banter the characters will surprise you, they may not be your cup of tea but they're endearing. I'm voluntarily reviewing this after receiving from Hidden Arcs.
An absolutely charming and quirky small town romance that'll make you smile and keep you reading! An improbable situation that leads to love, and ticks all the boxes for me. Great characters... crazy friends and family, horses, goats, and a house chicken! What could possibly happen?
Romance is not my thing, so it says something about how I feel about these two writers that I read it! Super-fun read. Loved the characters. It's not as horse-centric as you might be expecting, but I didn't miss that at all. Definitely worth the read. Better yet, go join their Patreon!
An interesting read that held my attention but did not keep me thoroughly enthralled. I did laugh a few times at some of the antics and people. This is a first read for me of any story by either Tudor Robins or Mara Dabrishus.
