IN THE HANDS OF A VAMPIRE!
This book was written by a friend of mine who has sadly left the world. But within this novel, she has immortalized her passion for vampires that I so fondly remember her for. It was a joy to read, and an emotional experience for me.
The characters were lovely. Vivian Addams is a gorgeous and entertaining protagonist with punchy lines and a confident flair I couldn't get enough of. And of course I fell in love with devilishly handsome and charismatic Mr. Deni Elrige, the lead vampire. He was a perfect contrast to the hilarious vulgar Vivian with his composed old-world charm, and together they complimented each other wonderfully.
This is not a typical vampire romance. It does not shy away from risqué themes and it's certainly not overly fluffy or sweet. The 'spicy' scenes were abundant and fun. And being that the book stars murderous monsters, there was horror sprinkled throughout ,which was always a treat. In The Hands of a Vampire is bluntly gritty and sensual, and it doesn't get deeply sentimental until towards the end. Saving the feels for the finale made finishing the book very rewarding.
The bonus short story at the end of the book was my favorite. It was beautifully written and bittersweet, and it gave a glimpse into Mr. Elridge's humanity and capacity for tenderness, which I really enjoyed.
I highly reccomend this fantastic book, written by a fantastic person. I will always remember H.L. Saily as Gaga4FrightNight, the pen name she used to post her numerous amazing fanfictions that led her to publishing her own novel. I am beyond proud of her achievement, and I DEFINITELY plan to read more of the books she published. Love you Heidi. For real.
Excellent book! Wish i could give it seven stars! or more :)
I loved the way the characters were created and how they developed. I hope in the next book we will be shown other characters too. I really am curious about how Mardi will grow. I don't know what this book could miss. Maybe more killing scenes? Because the sex parts were... Oh my! I could feel every word!
Definitely recommend for those of you who like the erotic horror style!
