The boy next door.
Star of my teenage fantasies.
My tormentor.

After serving as an army doctor in some of the most dangerous places on Earth, Brandon has finally come home. And he’s brought his cocky, alpha attitude and rugged good looks with him. To my hospital. He’s still a loose cannon and I’m right in his sights.

But instead of begging for him to stop, this good girl is having to stop herself from begging for more.
I thought I put my obsession with this moody bad boy to bed.
It now appears that's right where he wants me.

I’ve always made good choices.
But this time I’m worried I’ll pick the one that's bad for me, even if Brandon feels oh so right.

Bad for You is a sweet and sexy romance featuring a bully turned military hero and a smarty-pants girl next door on a twisted road to happily ever after. It stands alone with no cheating, cliffhangers, or nonsense.

Wow. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of Bad for You. Just... wow.

Enemies-to-lovers is pretty high up on the list of tropes I love. It usually leads to crazy intense sexual tension and a lot of sass and snark, which makes my heart very happy. I am pleased to inform you that Taylor Holloway did not disappoint. In fact, she exceeded my expectations (and I was expecting a lot).

This book starts off with a bang right from the prologue. It tugs at your heart and makes you feel for Aimee and Brandon because of the awful circumstances of their childhoods. You get a vivid picture of how their hate for each other started, and let's be real. Aimee has every reason to hate Brandon.

One of the best parts about Bad for You was the pacing. The last thing you're going to find is insta-love. It takes place over quite an extended period of time and because of that the romance that develops between Aimee and Brandon feels much more believable and real. It allows you to be fully immersed in the story and all of the events that take place.

Speaking of events taking place, oh boy. For a contemporary romance, there were so many twists and turns and I loved every second of it. It reminded me of Grey's Anatomy in the early days and I am here for that. Somehow everything just seemed to fit into the story perfectly and it had my on the edge of my seat needing to know what was going to happen next.

Taylor Holloway is an incredible writer and I can't wait to pick up the other novels in her Lone Star Lovers series. Her ability to write swoon-worthy romance while also tugging at your emotions is off the charts amazing and I highly suggest you grab a copy of Bad for You immediately.

Taylor Holloway was a new-to-me author when I picked up Bad for You. I always go into books by new-to-me authors a little jaded. Sometimes I win. Sometimes I lose. Bad for You was an absolute winner!
Brandon and Aimee shared a past. For her, it was a past full of bullying, degradation, and at times bordered on sexual assault all because she was a child prodigy in a school full of spoiled rich kids. And because she wasn't in the same economic/social class as her schoolmates. Brandon, however, was the golden boy. And Aimee's not-so-secret crush.
Fast forward 13 years and Brandon and Aimee are forced to work together in the same hospital. They still pretty much loathe each other, but like we know...there's a thin line between hate and love. Which side will they end up on?
It's always a good sign when a book has me hooked by the end of the prologue, and Bad for You had me hooked by about the 2nd paragraph. The writer's voice really resonated with me. And at the end of the prologue, I just wanted to scoop Aimee up and give her a big hug and tell her one day those guys would eat their words! And as far as Brandon...I was kind of on the fence between giving him a good smack to the back of the head and cheering for him. At times I really did want to do a little of both.
NICUnurse's Rating: I'll admit. I could not put this book down. I'm a fixer by nature and this book was uber angsty to me because I wanted to jump in and fix everyone and everything. Thankfully, the author did it for me or there may have been a toddler-like temper tantrum! These two characters were just meant to be together but there were literally decades of hurt, as well as abandonment issues and hostility, to have to work through. If you love enemies to lovers romance books that are chocked full of angst, this book will be your next favorite! I give Bad for You by Taylor Holloway 4.75 out of 5 stars!

Taylor Holloway and her Lone Star Lovers series is so freaking good! I have been following this series since the beginning and love how she has changed the books up but kept the core of the series together with how things have changed. Bad for You was a great book and I highly recommend everything reading it!

What happens when the boy that you were crushing on absolutely bullied you to no ends and then disappears? And right when you are comfortable and loving how your life is going, BAM he shows back up. Not only that, but you are forced to be around him because y'all work in the same freaking place..... Welp, now you know how Aimee feels!

I loved the prologue in the story, it was like a slap in the face stating this book is going to be something else and setting up everything that is going to go down and drew me in right from the beginning. What kept me intrigued was the steady chemistry between Brandon and Aimee, these two could have light my kindle on FIRE! The characters (all of our favs plus new ones) are absolutely on point and I felt as if I could connect with both Aimee and Brandon (which always makes a book 100x better)!

All in all this was a SUPER hot read between two people that can't be more opposite of each other and also quite frankly hate the other. There was a lot going on, but I felt as if it added more to the story and how things were playing out. Overall it had a solid story line, characters you can connect to, and some major steam. I give it a 5 outta 5!

PS: Thank you to Taylor and Inkslinger PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

The last time Aimee saw Brandon he was mean, cruel and a bully - her crush on him turned to hatred and stayed that way for years... when he suddenly and shockingly returns as an employee under her supervision, she has to learn to tolerate him, and the intense attraction that hits them both. Brandon has returned to his hometown - and his father's hospital - but not by choice. He's angry and taking it out on everyone - including Aimee. They can't deny their chemistry though - and soon enough, emotions are involved as they work through their painful past and current secrets, on their way to a potential future... I enjoyed this intense and emotional story with a HEA, would recommend!!

Aimee is an amazing woman. She was bullied by Brandon as a teen (yes he stopped his friends from doing it) however that didn't stop him. Aimee could have hated Brandon and been ignorant yet even if she wanted nothing to do with him she did end up giving him a chance and these two grew as people, especially Brandon and I respect that.. That my friends is what won me over.

Aimee and Brandon have history, one riddled with painful memories and lots of scars. Brandon and his friends use to torment her when they were back in high school, and she has carried that hate for them to her adult life. What made it tough was that he was her first crush, but with their age difference she never really had a chance with him. Not that he seemed interested anyway...

She has thought of him off and on through the years, wandering where life has taken him, and if he is still as good looking as he use to be. Now she is about to get all her questions answered because Brandon has returned home and is going to be working at the same hospital that she does.

With her protective shield in place she plans to avoid him at all costs and deflect any lingering feelings that might come around when he is near... but that becomes a little easier said then done when he sets his sights on her and won't take her "not interested" hints...

Bad for You is a beautifully written tale, it's pages held a story that tugged on the heartstrings and kept me captivated from beginning to end. Aimee and Brandon had a lot of growing and forgiving to do, which lead their relationship to be very intense at times. Their constant struggle with their inner demons, and past hurts kept them from falling quickly, but you could definitely feel the passion lingering their too. I loved the natural progression of their relationship, and getting to see the personal growth in both of them, it made their story feel believable. This is one of those reads that will take you on an emotional roller coaster, having many highs and lows... it's good on the heart and worth every minute of the ride!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased opinion.

4.5 Stars!

NEW AUTHOR ALERT FOR ME.

Taylor Holloway did a real solid when she penned this enemies to lovers, second chance "of sorts" romance and had me getting all in my feels right from the very start. Bad for You was really, really good y'all and had me moving through the pages in an unstoppable, unputdownable way.

You see these two have history and it's not good... at all. It's messy, complicated, bad, jaded, and unforgettable in the best AND worst ways possible. Brandon and Aimee left each other's lives a long time ago yet never left each other's minds. Now he's back in town and at her hospital and it's SUPPOSED to only be temporary. She isn't supposed to want him and plans to avoid him at all costs. He should definitely avoid her and do his time... in and out, quick and efficient because he knows the past is ugly. He's hotheaded, not nice and very much unliked yet misunderstood in major major ways and when it is all said and done, she still wants him in the most undeniable, deliciously dirty ways.

It's intense. It's sexy. It's inevitable. It's fated. It's raw. It's real. It's really, really, really complicated. Brandon and Aimee need to learn truths, heal, forgive, accept, and move on in order for it to work ever for them. And it just so happens Brandon is VERY MUCH up for the challenge.

This author AND this series are both brand spanking new to me and I had ZERO problems at all following along or enjoying these characters (I mean this is #9 in the Lone Star Lovers series but now I'm super curious about the previous books sooooo I'll definitely be going back soon-ish.).

This is the perfect afternoon romance that'll heat you up quite a bit in a few different ways 😉 and keep you hooked to the pages until they long after they stop flipping.

I definitely recommend this book.

Aimee was a 13 year old girl, who harbored a secret crush on Brandon, a popular rich kid, but he bullied her to mercilessly, and I wasn't a fan to be honest. I don't give a crap what is going on his life, it's no excuse to bully a 13 year old girl, especially since he's older. I'm not going to lie, I was glad he disappeared so Aimee could have a bit of peace as she grew up. Now, it's been 13 years since she saw him last, and while she's thought about him through the years, that doesn't mean that she didn't resent him because of the scars he left. I know that Brandon has his own scars, but again, pick on someone your own size, otherwise you're just a cowardly douchebag, who could grow up into a woman beater. I'm not saying that happened to Brandon, because he actually went off to become a military doctor, and he loved it. And let's face it, the military does make people grow up. His new assignment is to work at the hospital that Aimee works at, along with his father, so Brandon is coming home. Aimee is beside herself as those scars run deep, so her plan is to stay out of his sight, while her walls get reinforced. Brandon though, sees Aimee, and likes how well she grew up, and now he wants to actually spend time with her, so if their potent chemistry explodes, well, he's not going to argue about it. Despite Aimee's huge heart, she's not down with him trying to spend time with her, even though she's struggling with that potent chemistry bit time. And we all know that when there's sparks that shoot out of our kindle like they do in this story, the chemistry won't be denied forever. So, does Aimee ever forgive Brandon for their ugly past?! Can Brandon convince Aimee that they belong together?! One click this super emotional read to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I received a review copy before release for an honest review.

This is a book I have been waiting for and it was as good as I imagined it was. In this story we go back to the hospital where in a previous book in the series Dr Eric and Nurse Faith fell in love in book#6 in A Bad Case for Loving You. If you read their story you know that Faith's mom ends up married to the evil Dr Koels, the hospital admininstrator. Dr Aimee is his protegee and his son Brandon has come back to the hospital temporarily.

In this story we start at the beginning and see how Aimee and Brandon met and what he did to her as a 13 year old kid. Then the story picks up 13 years later when Dr Koels makes his son come and work at his hospital.
It is a very long story and I loved that we get to watch their fights and their love story unfold.

Falling in love is not easy on either side as they have a messy past and a messy relationship even in the future. But Brandon is this really wonderful guy. He is a military doctor and he really loved the military. He is stuck at his fathers hospital and he always picks Aimee every single time and that was amazing.

His father is a jerk and I guess you could say his father taught him how to not love and so he is always so there for Aimee.

There are a lot of HOT scenes and I mean a lot. My favorite was the first one. So if you don't, like sex scenes beware but if you do, well you will really enjoy them. There is also a violent scene near the end. So beware about that.

This story is about love and forgiveness and I think the message I got was that as long as there is love there is the chance for forgiveness. I have read this series and I really love it and well this story was really wonderful. I really enjoyed every moment of this story.

When they were kids Brandon hated Aimee Ford because she was a reminder that his mom was dying of cancer. Aimee and her mother lived with Brandon while her mother cared for Brandon's mother and Brandon's dad treated Aimee like a daughter. Now years later both Brandon and Aimee are doctors at St. Vincent's hospital, only Aimee has grown up and Brandon finds himself instantly attracted to her. Aimee can't forget the past and forgive Brandon for bullying her when they were younger.
Brandon believes his assignment at St. Vincent was brought on by his father who he doesn't get along with and blames for his mother's death.. He decides if he has to suffer through it he should try to be with Aimee before his next deployment and get her out of his system especially after the two of them have hate sex in the men's locker room at the hospital. Things become complicated when an HR rep wants Brandon's help getting Aimee and his dad fired from the hospital.
When the two of them finally start seeing each other in secret Brandon and Aimee both fall fast and hard for one another but with his deployment lurking they know that their relationship has an expiration date.
I really loved this book I thought the enemies to lovers relationship was interesting. Brandon started out bullying Aimee but still protected her from his friends and Aimee both hated and had a crush on Brandon. I understood Brandon's resentment toward his dad Martin but was glad that he and Brandon were able to work things out. Aimee and Brandon's biker date was cute and I love how even though Aimee was out of her element she made the best of things with Brandon. I love how their personalities complimented one another and glad they got their happily ever after.

Excellent romance from the prologue
I loved the story from the beginning. It is a conquest beyond the past a little heavy from harassment between the two heroes. The story is full of twists, has good dialogues, is well written, and partially unpredictable, in the world of the hospital. The author has been able to express each character in its extremes, the good ones as well as the bad ones.
Aimee was harassed by Brandon when she was young, but when they meet, both have changed. They are both doctors, he from the army, but he is temporarily placed in the civilian hospital of his father whom he hates, and she is protected by this father, and she hates Brandon because he abandoned his father, harassed her, and humiliated her younger.
But Brandon's military and family background is heavy for him too, and now his vision of Aimee is totally different. For the first time, he is attracted by a woman whose feelings are divided between powerful hatred and a very strong attraction

Aimee's mom worked for Brandon's family as a nurse to his mother. Brandon and his friends tormented her every chance they got until one day his friends went too far. Now years later Brandon is a trauma doctor in the military and ends up at the hospital his father and Aimee work at. Sparks between them as they banter back forth, Brandon wants Aimee not because he wants her but because it'll stir up things between him and his father. When Aimee gives in and lets down her guard to Brandon it seems like things are great between them. However he has a secret that could end things between them. Will he get a chance to explain before Aimee finds out?

This is an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

WOW I could really feel the pain for 13 year old Aimee and the bullying she went through from Brandon and his friends(although he did stop them) , this is not an excuse for what he did but Brandon went through mental abuse from his dad and I felt sorry for him for how he was treated , no spoilers from me just read the book and make your own opinion , it has a great storyline including the sensitive subject of bullying and what happens with Aimee and Brandon when they meet again years later when he returns to town as a doctor , really can't praise this book enough , well done Taylor this one more than deserves 5*s+

Enemies to Lovers Storyline Works!
A great story with relevant issues included in the storyline. The characters, Aimee and Brandon are doctors caught up in a love/hate relationship. Throw in Brandon’s father who is the CMO of the hospital who is mentoring Aimee to take over and is not fond of his own son and there’s twists and turns abound.
The writer does an excellent job at holding the reader’s interest from cover to cover and includes a sneak peak into the next book, which is always a plus.
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.

From start to finish I really enjoyed this book. It's about two people coming together 13 years later but don't mistake this for a second chance romance. No, this is about a heroine forgiving her childhood tormenter.

At the age of 13 Aimee had a high crush on her mum's bosses son Brandon. He was mean and a bully yet protected her against his own friends. Now years later Brandon is back and has his sights set on the young girl who has grown into a powerful and commanding woman.

Aimee is tough, aspirational and trying to avoid Brandon like the plague. Her character is fun to read about because she's authoritative and takes no sh*t from Brandon or the staff in her hospital. She's an interesting character because despite being bullied by Brandon she's understanding enough to know he had reasons and while she doesn't excuse them she feels bad for him and understands he didn't have it the easiest. This makes her a mature character that is refreshing to read about.

Brandon, however, is the real stand out. The development he has gone through from childhood to adulthood and even in adulthood from the time he reconciles with Aimee was amazing to read about and I loved how he wasn't ignoring his past mistakes but rather embracing it and admitting his wrongdoings in order to win over Aimee. Behind his tough army exterior is a sweet guy who lost his mother at a crucial time.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, its plot and the characters. This was my first book by Taylor Holloway and I will definitely be investing in her other books to see what her other characters are like. I would recommend this book to anyone who is already a fan but also to anyone wanting a romance based on redemption.

Full of feuding and fire

I loved the premise of this book; it’s not a second chance romance so much as it is a second chance for our hero to treat the heroine right. It reads like an enemies to lovers story with conflict between these two throughout much of the book. I enjoyed it but it’s not my favorite in the series; the pacing was a little off for me and it disrupted the romance.

The story follows Aimee, a former chubby and nerdy girl who met Brandon when she was young. Aimee’s mom was Brandon’s mom’s caretaker in her final days before passing, and Brandon used to bully Aimee because of it. To him, she represented an extremely painful time in his life and he was unfairly mean to her. Now that years have passed, they become coworkers at a hospital. Old feelings resurface and it’s easy for Aimee to hate Brandon, but he sees the woman she’s blossomed into and can’t help but be attracted. Sparks fly as they deal with their new dynamic and get to know each other as adults.

Taylor Holloway’s writing is consistently good, so I knew I was in for an enjoyable read. There’s chemistry and heat and deep emotion as with all her books, but the pacing threw me off. It felt like things combusted very quickly and then there was an awkward period where there’s no forward movement. I would’ve loved a little slower of a burn to really feel the chemistry before it explodes, and then for these two to move forward but that’s really not what happened. All in all, I liked the book and will definitely continue with the series but my connection to the characters wasn’t as strong as I would’ve liked. Ok so I’ll admit this book piqued my interest because I saw the word tormented in the blurb and though oh bully romance. I like my bully romances, but it’s not really a bully romance per se as it actually takes place 13 years after the bullying. It’s kinda of like a second chance romance.
Brandon tormented Aimee when they were younger, making her life hell. But he also protected her from his friends. And as Aimee even says herself he isn’t all bad. He has issues and his emotions with trying to deal with what he’s going through make him act the way he does towards Aimee.
Now Aimee has grown up to be quite the extraordinary person. She’s a doctor now, confident and takes no messing.
I loved how the plot develops, with Brandon working so hard to redeem himself and make his past wrong doings right. And I also loved how Aimee was so well developed as a character. She doesn’t excuse Brandon’s behaviour but she can be mature enough to understand it.
I actually really enjoyed this book and although the author is new to me and really looking forward to exploring her other books. I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’m a sucker for love stories involving the perennial bad boy. So when I read the blurb for this new release, by an author whose work I have never encountered before (sorry), I knew I had to check it out. “Bad for You” is a second-chance-at-love type of story. The main characters knew of each other as kids. The heroine’s point of view resonated with me, ‘coz I was in her shoes, too. I really liked this bad-boy-wannabe in my teens, but he was an asshole (still is, btw), but in “Bad for You,” the guy turned out to be all right. Holloway’s writing pushed the story forward at a pace that held my attention for the hours needed to take in this contemporary romance. Yes, hours. Not days. I kinda devoured this one in a jiffy. While “Bad for You” is not very original in its plot, the sizzling interaction between the main characters jumped right off the e-pages, making me eager to get to the next scene as fast as possible. It was pure bliss. Reading “Bad for You” was a breeze and made Holloway now an auto-buy.

Aimee Ford has made it no secret she loathes Brandon with a passion. In past books we have been on the sidelines of their battles, but now we finally get to learn why. As teenagers Aimee and Brandon were forced together under tense and devastating circumstances and Brandon made it his goal in life to make Aimees life as miserable as possible. Now 13 years later they are once again thrust together when Brandon is sent to Texas to work at Aimees hospital. Things are definitely tense with these two and past hurts are hard to get over. Their chemistry is electric and soon impossible to ignore but not everything is easy for these two between outside influences trying to destroy Aimee and Brandons return to the army looming will they be able to learn to love and trust one another or will fear keep them from their hea? This was a sweet book about growing up and getting a second chance at something real. I can not wait to ready Lucys story.

This is a new author for me and I'm jumping right in at book #9 in this series. I can say that Bad For You works as a standalone as I really didn't have any idea of the previous books in this series.

Aimee is all grown up now but she still remembers Brandon, a childhood bully and first crush. She's too smart to get involved with him now that they are working together, especially when she still has not so good past memories of Brandon. It's a perfect setup for a enemies to lovers story and they will both have to deal with understanding what happened in the past and finding forgiveness.

Overall, Bad for You is a contemporary romance with interesting and likable characters.  Aimee is terrific and strong-willed and her maturity anchors the story.  Brandon has a little more "past" to deal with, but when it comes to Aimee, he's willing to make the effort.  I liked the two of them together.   I'd checked out other books from this author.
