This is a behemoth of story. What if the Horcruxes were forcefully absorved when destroyed, and Lord V. wants then to become Lord Slytherin to become a political force? But ... he needs a parseltongue heir . Where he can found one?

Spoiler: The Heir is not happy.

I like in this fic all Harry's internal conflicts between accepting or not accepting a father figure in his life, an adult who cares about what happens to him. And the changes that this makes between the Death Eaters and the people who were their victims and do not believe in this change.

On the other hand, this is a light story, not one of those distressing and dark conflicts that can appeal more to other readers. Very family-centric.

That all said the story become repetitive when read at once (ad not waiting chapter after chapter); needs a lot of cut-edits.

2.5 stars? It wasn’t bad, but it was a lot more “slice-of-life” towards the end, vs. The mystery and politics it started out with. It started to drag a bit.

Really really enjoyed reading it!
Not without several flaws, but creativity and quality of writing overall made me overlook them enough to give the fic 5/5.
One of the best fics that uses trope of lordship and all that entails. Title of "Dark Lord" also has significance.
My main gripe was switching between POVs, sometime excessive and breaking flow. At the same time this helped to show different sides of problems.
Main focus was on Marvolo, Harry and Severus, but many other characters (including OCs) played significant part.

Massive work, as large as six(!) Harry Potter books together(!). It’s slow-developing, and I took days off around both the ⅓ and ⅔ #chapters mark to cleanse my palette.

I missed a clear conclusion, but it ends with a bang, and it’s certainly enjoyable until then. Quite some cliché-avoiding, too. It also introduced a new concept.

I lost count of how often People carted their hands through their hair or how often 3 spoons of sugar were mentioned. It's also quite a long work for 1 year, and not a fic where much action happens. There are some interesting ideas in play but I did feel it was overlong for what it was

Really well written, the length felt very organic. I loved the characters and heir development. The research was pretty thorough and at no point did it ever feel tacky or forced. It took three complicated characters (Harry, Snape and Voldemort) and sketched them out really well. Definitely a must read in the Harry Potter Hall of Fanfiction fame.
